  1. same quotes going around everwhere...lol
  2. VJKK VJKF, Ken Livingstone (London Mayor) has been in Amritsar...As you probably know. I was looking for an image where I can't find anywhere on the internet or even on the Evening Standard site...And I don't have a scanner. If its not online then its fine, but here are the images I was after, and I thought you could look at them in the proccess....It was on the front page of the Evening Standard (Local London Paper), sorry if their not top quality I just took them on my Diji Cam: If you follow the homepage to page 31 where it says the full story is it reads this: Ken Livingstone partied with India's "royal family" as he brought down the curtain on his visit to Mumbai. He staged a glitzy "London showcase" concert that was attended by Bollywood "godfather" Amitabh Bachchan and his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, a former Miss World still described as the most beautiful woman. Mr Bachchan's son Abhishek, an actor too, was also at the event, held on the rooftop terrace of the five-star Taj Palace hotel. The Bachchans are treated like royalty in India and the event attracted massive media interest. Today the London Mayor was flying to Amritsar to visit the Golden Temple, the most holy site to Sikhism and the scene of two massacres. The most recent, in 1984, resulted in the revenge assassination of then Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards. The Mayor's visit to India, costing about £740,000 of public money, ends tomorrow. Last night's concert featured musician and presenter Myleene Klass and Indian pop superstar Sonu Nigam. The Mayor presented.Amitabh Bachchan with a Visit London award for his 40-year cinema career. Ms Klass, who left her new-born daughter to attend the event, performed a piece from the Michael Nyman classical music soundtrack to the film The Piano. The event also featured West End singer Simon Bowman, who sang The Music Of The Night from The Phantom Of The Opera, as well as performers from the West End musical Stomp and Indian dancers. Mr Livingstone, who bounded on stage to a blast of London Calling by The Clash, said: "It's been an amazing week, not least because I have managed to get through most of it and nothing has gone wrong so far. But there is still two days to go." He praised his staff, saying: "Everything has gone wonderful this week. My staff have worked for 18 months to put this together. I get all the credit. They do all the work. They have been wonderful. I can't believe the impact they have produced." VJKK VJKF.

  5. VJKK VJKF, If you just want to use a simple laptop then here are the instrutions I sent to someone just 20 mins ago  : 1) Install "Audio Grabber" to your Laptop. From here: http://tucows.easynet.net/files/agsetup.exe 2) Go through all the setup procudeures. Next...Next..Next.. 3) Open "Audio Grabber". 4) Go to File > Line in Sampling, You should now see a Volume Bar in the middle. Don't worry about that yet. 5) Instead on the right go to "Mixer". 6) Tick "Internal Mic" - If you just want to use the laptops mic...If you got a wire connected to the sound system then use "External Mic" 7) untick 1 microhpone joost or something like that. MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS OR THE RECORDING WILL COME UN-CLEAR. 8) Now your ready to start recording. 9) Click the "Record" Button. It's near the bottom left hand corner. Now look at your volume Bar meater. Is it too high? If it's hitting the top...and is very high then go to "mixer" again and reduce the volume. It should be around 60-70 on average. If its too low than make it higher. Once again make sure the 1 Micrphone Joost button is UN-TICKED. 10) Now start recording. 11) When the Keertani has finished then stop it. And start again in time for the next one. All recordings you stop will appear on your desktop so check there for a file. If you want to spend some money then use this nicely priced recording mic - if your budget is tight. If you want to spend some money you can go for the 300-400 pounds one's. Use this mic - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-ECM-MS907-Ste...e/dp/B00005QBUW IF YOUR USING AUDIOGRABBER THEN AFTER YOU RECORD MAKE SURE YOU "CONVERT TO MP3" AS THEY RECORD AS WAV FILES. If you need any more advice then let me know. VJKK VJKF.

  7. Seems like anything good which is done in our community is critisized in some way.
  8. VJKK VJKF, After some time we have thought that we will put the Low Quality Recordings online. As we are still in the proccess of editing and sorting those recordings out we will put them online this coming week-end. From these HQ recordings we have edited half of them and we would appreciate if you could stay patient. I promise you the one's we are working on are really good! The current Recordings: Bhai Prithipal Singh, Bibi Indermohan Kaur and Bhai Apardeep Singh. Bhai Prithipal Singh - First 15-20 mins - really poor quality - hard to hear. After that - still not brilliant. Bibi Indermohan Kaur - All of it - Not bad but hard to hear so you will have to turn your speakers up. Bhai Apardeep Singh - Easily the best of the Recordings and really good apart from the occasional volume fault. There is only 3 LQ Recordings as I was only there from 8-11. The HQ one's are from 7pm-3am which me and another member of the SikhRoots team took should be really good! Click Here for LQ recordings. All the recordings will appear here on the weeke-end Please leave comments here about the Recordings in this thread - although I don't think there will be many yet. Try and listen to Bhai Apardeep Singh's Keertan - really amazing. Take care and enjoy in the mean time, VJKK VJKF, WHOLE SIKHROOTS TEAM.
