  1. So is it more cultural than Religious?? The Main point is Having hair on the Head...but does it matter if it is covered with a Baseball hat or a Pug?? Yes the Hair should be covered, because it keeps them clean and it gives one Respect. I am no expert on this, so i ask ya'll is it more Cultural than Religious??
  2. what about when Akhand path which goes for 3 days straight, can the people not eat for 3 days?? Isn't the Langer served for the 3 days continuaslly??
  3. That would be a very Enourmous Achievement, if it could be done. I wuld definely move there. Wow im excited already and nothings been done yet...loll
  4. Is the world/Soceity running on those same Laws and Regulations that were issued in the 7th Century??? NO obviously not. The people have change and so must the rules accordingly. The message has always been the Same. Love, Compassion, Patience. If you don't understand something one way, then i must try to say the same message in a different Manner. God is not something that has a definition which can be defined by one set of rules. If 5 people are watching the SAme movie, do you think that all 5 will perceive the movie in the same way. Perception here has allot to do with how religion is born. What Jesus saw god as he spoke thru his perception as did Muhammed as did Guru Nanak dev ji. It is how they Perceived his Message, how they saw him and that is how they presented it to the people. Buddha spoke of him in his way. God is Undefined he cannot be Defined. Guru Nanak Dev ji S ang his whole life. Budha never Sang. Why didn't he sing, because he saw god as energy flowing everywhere and he expressed it thru Silence and Meditation. Guru Nanak Dev ji Expressed that Same Energy thru Singing, Simran, Jap. Changing the Word Water to Paanee does not change the Chemical foundation of the Water. Putting water in a Steel cup as oppose to a Glass cup does not mean it will not quench your thirst. Water remains water. hope this helps, its very hard to find words to explain ur question, Sorry if i confused you even further. Waheguru
  5. look on the bright side, atleast he died serving the Guru. Atlease he wasn't robbed and killed walking out of a club or a party. Waheguru, may he bless everyone.
  6. whenever i walk in the mall and see these girls half naked, it makes me not want to go at all, but then i heard in a Katha that buddist Monks when ever they walk, they don't look straight. They keep their Sight towards the ground, not too far down as they don't see if they are stepping in a Hole or something. But far enough down that their eyes and mind don't wander around whom or what they are surrounded with. Well i tried it not too long ago and trust me it worked. I walked aruond the mall with my head down and sight towards the ground at around 45 degree angle, i didn't care what other people were doing. I was walking towards where i needed to go and reciting waheguru. Ya'll should try it and see it help u ne. Not only in the mall but if you are walking somewhere, you do practice this as well. Also don't take this too literaly that when you are crossing traffic or something that you dont' lift your head and look either way. So be safe and yet practical. Waheguru
  7. Paraya Tun no Maa Sumjo and Paraya Dhun nu Mitti. The others body should be as your Mother and the Others Wealth as Dirt. Can't remember the name of the Sant from whom i heard that sentence, but it has been stuck with me ever since. My approach towards kaam is that whenever the thought of it arrises, I ask my self this one questions. Where will it get me? The answer i come up with is that It will take me right where i was before i was having the thought. Right back where i was. No progress will be made. To satisfy your self with Kaam will not make it go away rather it will make it stronger and yet bring you right back to where you was.
  8. God has become a Spare tire, when all the tires are working right, then there is no need to think about the spare tire, only when you have a Flat, do you think about the spare tire.
  9. you should let it wander. just don't involve yourself in the wandering... IGNORE IT. I know its easier said than done. But it works. As soon as you ignore the mind, in that instant the thoughts fade away as they were never there. If a thought does come to mind, that should be a sign to you that you should become more aware and take a step back and let the thought run its self out. If someoen comes to you home and you ignore them sooner or later they will leave as he/she is not welcomed. Thoughts work the same way. They are the Guests in your mind. Its up to you to attend the guests or not. That is hardest part of meditation, just ignoring th e thoughts as they are not there. I am in the same boat as you are, but this understanding helps me deal with those thoughts. to further help you, try to become a watcher of your thoughts in the everyday life, not just when you are meditating. Waheguru
  10. hahahah wth....thta is pretty weird, i wonder why they chose that name. hmm i wonder if it has a different meaning for them or just a random word that they chose.
  11. i must say this book was my first introduction to Sikhi 9 years back yup veer. he has a way with words, i just recently finished reading his book and still i am feeling the effects of it. Waheguru
  12. He gives prominence and importance to His creation. So God is not against samsara or else why should He create it? Nor is he maya's enemy, or why should He bother with it? So the difficulty encountered by logic had no ground with the devotee. Nanak says not only does He create but He admires His creation and looks at it exultantly, thus giving it honor and importance. Remember, God has created you and having created you he has examined you from all sides, and He is still looking at you constantly as a part of His own handiwork, giving you dignity and importance; and on its own all sin will fade away from your life. If you remember this you will move about as a creation of His. You will speak and hear, fully conscious of the fact that you are His creation. In all your dealings you will be conscious of the fact that you are His and He is looking after you all the time. He watches over you constantly. He provides you with comfort and care. He looks at you lovingly, again and again. He never tires of looking at you. He is pleased with you for it is He who has made you. He is neither disappointed nor disheartened by your ways or else He could destroy you so easily. No matter how bad and sinful you become, His flame of hope for you never burns out. No matter how far you wander away from Him, no matter how completely you forget Him and turn your back on Him, His loving gaze is still fixed on you. For He knows that if not today, tomorrow you are sure to return. Sooner or later the prodigal must return, his coming back is certain, for the further you go away from Him the more unhappy you will become, like a little child who has run away from home. A little child, barely four years old, ran away from home. He took a small bundle of clothes and set out. A policeman found him going back and forth along the side of the road a number of times. He approached him, thinking he needed help, and asked, "Where do you want to go? Where have you come from?" The child said, "I have run away from home but Mother always said not to cross the road, but to stay on this side. Now I don't know what to do, since I can't cross over." How far can a small child stray? Even if he does, Mommy has always set a limit and how can he disobey her? How far will you wander from God? Even if you are angry with Him for some reason, you will keep shuttling between home and the road crossing. How far can you go and where will you go? Wherever you roam it is within His boundaries. Wherever you are will be within Him. Your anger is the anger of a little child; it is nothing but a part of love. He is never displeased by your displeasure. however far away you are from the One, you cannot step outside His edicts, His orders. No matter how much you disintegrate, how much divided you are in the many, He is present within you. If He is not, you cannot be. You may wander far, far away. You may go astray, but you cannot go so far that there is no point of return; there is no such point of no return. Therefore no person is unredeemable. Even if a person has fallen into the lowermost depths of sin, he is not beyond cure. In terms of spiritual knowledge, there is no illness that is incurable, that cannot be remedied. All spiritual diseases can be cured. You cannot go so far that you cannot return. Wherever you go, He is present. However far you go, it is He who takes you. Even in sin you need His help, because it is He who breathes within the sinner, it is He who beats within the sinner's heart. We can go far, very far. We can forget Him, but there is no way of losing Him. So when you ask, "How are we to seek Him?" your question is not correct, for you have never lost Him. Even if you wish to, you cannot lose Hi m for He is your very nature. Were He apart from you, you could have lost him, forgotten Him somewhere, but you cannot do this even by mistake, because He is you. Then what happens? You merely forget. There is also a way to forget oneself. Man can forget himself, forget his very nature. And yet his nature stands within him.
  13. As Far as i know about the The Trinity is that: Brahma - Creator Vishnu - Sustainer of Life Shiva - Destroyer (Vishnu and Shiva could be reversed, I always get them mixed up. My apologies) Paarvatee Maaee as the translation has listed as Lakhshme, is also known as Maya. He is all of them, He is the Guru, since there is no difference between Guru and Waheguru. He himself is the Guru, he himself is the creator, the sustainer, the destroyer and Maya. There is no other But him.
  14. why are you peple waiting for sant ji to come back. Do you n0t have the courage to do it on your own. Your dependency on someone else to help you fight, shows your own inability to stand up and express your own courage to fight. Let me guess the reply. " You are not for Khalistan, so why do you care" Well you are right to an extent. You are depending on someone else to give you courage and on top of that you don't even know when he will come. You have Placed Hope in a Saviour returning that will give rise to khalistan. A Warrior is that who is self sustaining who find the courage and bravery within himself. Where is your courage to fight, why are you waiting for someone else. Stand up yourself, use the Courage of Sant ji as a Stepping stone, use his courage and bravery as your Fuel, as your Morality. You are still depending on him to save Khalistan. Hasn't he given you enough courage and bravery that you have become independent thru his teaching. If not then you have every right to wait for him. As the Fruit Ripens it lets go of the tree, if it is still hanging on to the tree, it is still Katcha. But NO, we shall wait for someone to come along and save us. I do not question, How and If Sant ji will come back, but it seem all hope of Khalistan is residing on one person who no one know if Sant ji is still Alive or not or when and If he will come back . We speculate and create stories to build hope, but they are just as dangerous because of these stories we lose all hope and strenght in ourselves and place it in others, we tell ourselves that someone will return one day and save us. we rid ourselves of the guilt of not doing a nything today, because we are waiting. Waiting for someone to come and save us to lead us. **Note: i did not say anything Offensive towards anyone, these are just my views and opinions on the hope placed on someone that will one day come and save us**
  15. As i said, that is where my dream and reality Begins, not ends. If i am capable of defending other, then i will do so regardless of whether i am for or against Khalistan movement.
  16. Khalsa is the roop of my guru and if my guru resides in my heart, My heart become Khalistan and that is the Khalistan that NO HINDU, NO MUSLIM can steal away from me. Lands can be taken away, but not that which is in my heart and mind, not that which has manifested itself in every pour of my body. That is where my dream, my reality of Khalistan Begins.
  17. I don't have RCA out in the stereo I use to record, therefore, I use the headphone jack that has the same ends. I think that's the reason behind all that noise. Could be, also the Sound card itself can improve the quality. The Noise i was talking about was the noise i got from the POrtable Cassette player. I received noice of the cassette turning like a wheel.
  18. veer, In the theory i posted it was their own desires that are the cause of such transformation. God did not set out to make Gays, he is the Compassionate one, so he gives to us what we desire thru our freedom. We live and die thru infinite reincarnation for our desires. That is the Fault of us. But nonetheless How ever we are Who ever we are, We are still his children. A mother does not throw away his kid because he is born with a Disability or Mental issues, it is still her child. Others may point and critisize the child in Disgust. But to the Mother , no matter how the child looks, it is her child. She Loves him unconditionally for the simple fact that she gave birth to him and in that Love she is attached to the child. I am talking about real mother, because some do throw away their kids. But they are not mothers. You bring very good points in the second paragraph. But When you are attracted to the opposite sex, Do you feel you have a choice in picking whether you should be attracted to a man or a woman? It is natural for you to be attracted to a woman, Maybe that is the same way a Homosexual feels. But Why he feels such, I don't know. Is he making a Concious decision to be gay, or is it natural for him where he feels he has no choice. Is the feeling of no choice similar to the feeling one feels when one is overwhelmed by the desire and is so caught up in his addiction that he sees no way out? I don't think so, because why would he go thru all that just to face soceity which is against it. Why wouldn't he make an effort to fit into the "norm of soceity". Some people are born with Qualities/Habits that they cannot change. Some people obtain qualities in their lifetimes. Are People born gay, that they cannot change themselves, or they become Gay by choice. When a Gay person is attracted to a another Male, Does he see it as Natural as I am naturally attracted to a Female?????? That is the Question i have, and in that Honesty i feel lies the Truth behind why Gays exist. If that is how they feel then the theory i posted is proven correct, that it is just another phase of human desiers and Homosexuality is the product of those desires.
  19. hahah i was going to tell u that way, but i figured this would've been easier... :ww::
  20. if the Cassett deck has RCA out, then you'll need a RCA Plug to Headphone Plug. Take the RCA L and R plugs and plug it into ur tape deck then take the Headphone plug and plug it into your Line In on the computer. Then you'll need a Program to record the Line In. If it don't have RCA out and it has a Headphone outlet, then you'll need a headphone jack on both end of the wire, or you can use a Portable Cassette Deck, but they have allot of noise in it...so might not sound good.
  21. If a Homosexual man saves your life, is he still evil???? Don't be judgemental.
  22. not entirely true, Some hetrosexual people think that getting married is having a license to have sex. They are as much involved in lust as is the next person, because they justify it that when you are married it is ok to have sex. As veer Mkhalsa pointed out in the other thread linked by veer Moorakh Mughad that it is still Lust and marriage shouldn't be used to justify it. There are Homosexual people who are wanting a Family, they have a Relationship with their partner that shadows the relationship of a Hetrosexual couple. so it is not 100% lust. The desire for a Family exists within them as well.
  23. very good quesiton bro, I Personally would have to understand the laavas that are recited in marriage. what exactly are they referring to, do they say specifically male and female. Even if they don't, Marriage is where the Female and the Male Auraas, their energies are joined to make One. The Engergy of 2 males and 2 females are not complete, for they are One-Sided. If they adopt a Child. The Child will be missing 1/2 of the guidence that is needed and is essential for the child to devlop his/her mind into a balanced state. They can get married in Court, if allowed by the law. But as for in front of the Guru, i don't know. As far as I know the marriage infront of our Guru is designed for the joining of Male and Female.
  24. The question that needs to be answered before one can decide if Religion should allow gays is that, Do Homosexuals have a choice in being Gay or are they Gay from Birth?? Some T.V Shows that do interview Gays, They have said that they have felt this from the beginning. To them it is as Natural to be involved in a Homosexual act as it is for a Hetrosexual. So If one can find what the truth is in my question. The issue would be much easier to discuss. My theory about Gays: We Receive whatever we want from god. Our Desire are the ones responsible for our Reincarnations. So if in one life one Woman is Obsessed with Men. She wants them so bad that she wishes she was one of them. As you can see in the world many people are have operations to be the opposite sex. They are so attached to the opposite sex that when they die, in their minds the thought to be or to get fullfillment from opposite sex exists with such force that they receive the body of the opposite sex in their next birth. Now her mind is still attached to the Male figure and she is in a male body, So being in a Male body, her desire for the male still exists. So he has become a Homosexual. The same can be used for the Male attached to the Female. Now this theory can only be proven if one can Prove without question that a Homosexual have this attraction from Birth. The way i see it as is that All are the creation of God himself. I don't think Gays are bad people or they shouldn't be allowed to praise God. God exists within them as well and NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO STOP ANYONE FROM TRYING TO MEET HIS CREATOR. What if a Homosexual person has the desire to m eet god and he needs a religion a path to follow upon would u close the door on his face?? What if a Murderer came would u close the door on him as well?? What gave you the right to stop someone from trying to reach god?? When did you become so high and mighty that you have any right to tell him NO?? The Murderer has committed a crime, but what crime has the Homosexual committed?? If you had to choose between the 2 which one would u let in?? Waheguru.
  25. he just had a concert in LA. my bro met him, he said when he spoke english he had an accent, but when he spoke punjabi, it was like Pendu pure desi ghee punjabi.
