  1. yes its fine, just dont eat untill you put your kirpan back on after the flight, and have done at least an ardas.
  2. I remember reading a thread on gurmatbibek forum about this, I cant find it now but will post it if I do. Some Singhs will say that a Sehaj Paath can only be classified as a Sehaj Paat if it is read from a saroop of Guru Sahib, and that if it is done by senchya/ online then it is not classified as a Sehaj Paat. If you are able to do it from Mahraj's saroop then this would be ideal, however if this will be difficult then the next best solution may be to do it online or from senchya. I did my first "Sehaj Paat" using the Gurbani Anywhere application for iPhones/iPods, as it allowed me to read translations at the same time. Yes you should start with ardaas, and you can do it at any time of the day! If what ive said is wrong, apologies...
  3. My name is not Kurbaan Singh or Kurban Singh. I only spelt it with 2 A's because that's how it is pronounced phonetically. I'm not sure why you think that Kurban/Kurbaan is my name!
  4. singhni ji, if you are talking about UK ones, then I have heard that AKJ calendars can be found at cross roads gurudwara coventry. although im not 100% sure. I dont know anything about the taksali calendar.
  5. Consciousness Ji, Im presuming you were talking to me, if so.. my name is not Kurbaan Singh, (although it is a nice name) But thank you for your mature approach. anyway, I bid you a farewell..
  6. Well done Sherlock, he also shares it in his signature on this forum. What you have just said there ^^^ makes no sense. It is a poorly constructed argument, which holds no grounds. Im not wasting my time arguing about it either, cos I am quite busy with exams at the moment, but I felt I should post in this thread when I saw a few comments here- this will be my last say here though.
  7. VERY well said! If you are referring to the AKJ you are incredibly misinformed, and all accusations you have made are false.
  8. Singhni Ji, I know that in AKJ UK Amrit Sanchars you can speak in English if you have problems speaking/ understanding punjabi, and they will speak to you in English too. Yes, just explain your problem and ask for advice.
  9. Singhni Ji, Of course you can speak to the Panj Pyareh for advice. Go to the next Amrit Sanchar, and speak to them about what it is that's bothering you. I'm quite surprised that they rushed you so much when you went- but I would say go to the next AKJ Amrit Sanchar, and pesh there. Who cares if they are "stricter"?! I think thats a good thing, not a bad thing! I'm sure they wont rush you- Panj Pyareh are not just there to give amrit, they are also more then willing to answer any of our questions!
  10. Lets do one together. ill start... ik oankar sri vaheguru ji jee fateh patshahi dasvin kabyo baath benthee chaupai hamree karo hath dhaih racha pooran hoe chith kee icha thav charnan man rehai hamara apna jan karo prithpra.......... :cool2:

  13. How did I know someone would come and post ripping the hell out of Niddar? *sigh* :dry2: I've found that too many people jump into MMA because its the one which gets the most attention in media. You should remember that most MMA fighters have done other martial arts, and are very experienced. If you have no other fighting experience I wouldn't do MMA if I were you, not yet at least. Why go into MIXED MARTIAL ARTS when you have no knowledge of any individual ones? I'm a black belt in taekwondo and also do Muay Thai- I'd recommend both very highly. Muay Thai is probably more practical in terms of street fighting so you might be attracted to that one more, but both are great martial arts.
  14. imo i dont think politics goes very well with sikhi. i think Gursikhs should try and stay clear from it.
  15. have a read through this: http://gurmatbibek.com/forum/read.php?3,18815
  16. yes, I can see tukhs that others post but i just can't seem to post them myself
  17. downloaded firefox in the hope that it would be the solution to my problem. i STILL cant post in Gurmukhi lol, even on firefox! any suggestions anyone?
  18. s If you believe that following Guru Sahibs rehat by wearing a DASTAR at all times is silly then keep it to yourself. Do you think children wore patkeh in puratan times? no, they wore dastars. patkeh are not keskia, they are not dastars, they should not be worn. Especially if the OP is 14 years old, he is more then capable of tying a dastar.
