  1. BUMP For the majority of members what we're after is a sketch or a quick doodle or drawing. Some ideas: It can be of any historical figure e.g. e.g. since its Guru Nanak's Parkash Purab how about doing a drawing of Guru Nanak? For those who are after a big challenge how about having a go at something like: http://www.info-sikh.com/PenPage1.html For those of you who would like to do a quick drawing with younger brothers/sisters/children under 8 years old who may not be able to draw well or know what Guru Nanak looks like - get them involved e.g. visit: http://www.rajkaregakhalsa.net/downloads.htm > Colouring In Exercises On Sikhism and colour in the ones on Guru Nanak.
  2. Hey paji! hope ur ok - it's in this album: http://www.rajkaregakhalsa.net/audio/index...FDharmik+Geet+1 could i also recommend: http://www.rajkaregakhalsa.net/audio/index...Aftermath+Album " Good Beant Singh; Well done Satwant Singh " which is by Late Bhai Gian Singh Surjeet.
  3. Please do take the time out to attend and encourage those around you be they sikh, non-sikh, from people in the media to public services, etc. to attend. this is not about sikh/non-sikh, black, brown, caste or jatha - for us to call ourselves human we should be able to empathise and consider all our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers and children. so the slaughter of thousands of innocent people created a silent cry and we have to be their voice so please empathise, unite and attend. everyone is welcome to come and share our sanjha hurt at this tragedy and crime against all humanity.
  4. in any court in the west, ignorance is no defence. it is one thing to be ignorant of truth and falsehood, but to knowingly step on the wrong path.. there is little difference between Darshan and Gurmeet Ram Rahim in terms of what they desire for the Panth, only difference is one is doing it internally and the other externally. Gurmeet is probably doing it for the lifestyle and money, Darshan is probably doing it to help future generations of his family financially whilst settling old scores with enemies in the process. everything he says must be replied to but from now on rather than just reacting to these madmen we need to go on the offensive and do parchaar of Sri Dasam Guru Durbar & Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj in terms of their universal message of love that crosses all boundaries.
  5. sawnee feature add kardithee! emi videoaan ley naa vartho, koi khaas videoaan lagao jisde naal chungaa assar hovai
  6. When we first encounter dharam, it fires arrows at us and they hurt. In time we learn these arrows are actually of love so rather than developing thicker skins we need to let go of everything and allow them to penetrate our souls. That's where the difficulties begin!
  7. We all show our love for our Gurus in different ways. Personally speaking i really like the design of many Nanaksar GuruGhar as there is satkaar as if Gurus were there in human form. Baba Nand Singh Ji's jeevan will long continue to inspire people onto Guru Ji's Path.
  8. A couple of quotes here for you. Before reading, please don't just think about these in a political sense but for liberation in every sense - cause and effect. "Freedom had been hunted round the globe; reason was considered as rebellion; and the slavery of fear had made men afraid to think. But such is the irresistible nature of truth, that all it asks, and all it wants, is the liberty of appearing." (Thomas Paine, The Rights of Man, 1791) "Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to God." (Benjamin Frankin, 1776) "If we wish to be free; if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending; if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained—we must fight! I repeat it, sir, we must fight! An appeal to arms, and to the God of hosts, is all that is left us." (Patrick Henry, Speech in Virginia Convention, Richmond, March 23, 1775) "This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it." (Abraham Lincoln, First Inaugural Address, Washington, D.C., March 4, 1861) "Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly; 'tis dearness only that gives everything its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated." (Thomas Paine, The American Crisis, No. 1, December 23, 1776) "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquillity of servitude than the animating contest of freedom—go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!" (Samuel Adams, speech, Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776) "God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty . . . And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." (Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Stevens Smith, November 13, I have taken birth of this purpose, the saints should comprehend this in their minds. ਧਰਮ ਚਲਾਵਨ ਸੰਤ ਉਬਾਰਨ ॥ ਦੁਸਟ ਸਭਨ ਕੋ ਮੂਲ ਉਪਾਰਨ ॥੪੩॥ (I have been born) to spread Dharma, and protect saints, and root out tyrants and evil-minded persons.43. (Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji, Panna 138) ਬਿਨੁ ਕਰਤੂਤੀ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ Without good deeds, liberation is not obtained. ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ The wealth of liberation is only obtained by meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause|| (Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj, Raag Gaurhee, Ang 201)

  13. was this organised lastminuite.com? hope you dont mind i've amended the topic title & will add it to the events to get some more views. Good stuff
  14. i read a lot of news & to be frank, this is the first bit of positive news about Sikhs that the UK Press have covered in a lonnnnng time. let's encourage each other to learn about Sikhi & let's try and make the most of this to ensure our youngsters get fair treatment with regards to their Kakaars.
  15. well done to everyone involved in the case !! despite the Mandla case, many sikh bachay/bachiaan have had problems with schools saying they "cant" wear karay particularly with p.e. lessons so there was a clear need for Sikhs to do some parchaar. the school took a ridiculous stance and pushed it all the way to the high court so its their fault but well done to all involved for not backing down and re-enforcing our human rights. also, Sarika is welcome on the forum. since its an open forum you get the odd negative person who posts something stupid but they are under Quality Control moderation now. http://www.sikhsangat.org/news/publish/eur..._Of_Faith.shtml :D
  16. as it has been requested, on behalf of Mods i'd like to say you are welcome to discuss and do vichaar on ANY aspect of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji at ANY time. what you are not allowed to do is reject Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji as the work of Guru Gobind Singh ji. Kala Afghana, Ghagga and such miscreants who speak against Dasam Bani will burn in hell. thank you
  17. i'm sorry but i've been forced to post. to the small minority posting cheap insults at the girl have you got no shame? i've had to spend 5 minuites of my time that i could have spent doing something more productive clearing up a few tacky comments aimed at a young girl who doesnt even have the right of reply on the forum. some people seriously need to think before they post because we call ourselves Sikhs of Guru jee but we bring shame to our Father looking at the nonsense posted here. if someone wears kakaars good for them, if anyone posting here is actually going to take up the role of good sangat for this girl or anyone else, good for you, otherwise we may as well call ourselves nindiya-chuglee-sangat.com. there's no difference between us and the sad pathetic people who sit at the back of Darbar Sahib with SatGuru Maharaj King of Kings seated right in front of them and they're too blind to see and too busy backchatting about some bibi's dress-sense.
