Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! This story was told to me by my grand mother when I was a very young kid. A child developed a very nasty tumor on his body. His mother took him to the doctor and wanted the tumor removed. The doctor began cutting the tumor in front of the mom. The child cried and screamed in pain. The mother watched, and was in tears, but didn’t stop the doctor because she knew it was for her child’s own good. The child probably hated his mother for not doing anything, but little did he know as to what the truth was. We mortals are like the kid. Whenever we are in pain, we blame God for all our misfortunes. The Lord doesn’t derive any pleasure watching us go through the agony, but we thankless people blame and even end up hating Him for whatever we go through. He is our loving Father and Mother, only He knows what the big picture is. Only He knows what the master plan is. Only He knows what is best for us. I wonder how can somebdy say whether Ram was mukt or not? How can somebdy tell that Ram was in gian khand? In other thread I read"jesus" was not mukt. Can somebdy plz expalin??? Or if they have any sources please let me know. My understanding tells me that Ram was an avtaar of satjug (Bhai Gurdaas ji diyan varran) and avtaar is considered to be of highest spirtual stages. This is just "I THINK" No Balwinder Singh veerjee, you are totally wrong. We have people on this forum who are extremely chardi kala and can judge anyone anytime. Not only this, they are eye witnesses as to who is mukt and who is not. We should not debate against anything they say.

I got called 4 times in Oklahoma, and all 4 times it was done out of joke just for fun, not as a racist comment. I just walked away after realizing they didn't mean it and were just doing it for the heck of it. Maybe they even knew who Sikhs are and do it just to have their stupid fun.

Since I am staying with my Hindu parents right now, I know for a fact that such situations can get hard to deal with at times. I'd say that there is no harm in going as long as its just out of respect for their beliefs. On few occassions I even accepted and ate the parshaad my dad gave me (coz refusing parshaad is considered highly offensive and insulting), but then for some reason I started feeling weird and had a feeling I was getting caught up in bipran ki reet. So the next time he offered me parshaad, I just folded my hands ( ) and said "Thanks, you have it" :wub: . This way I am not disrespecting their beliefs and am standing firm on my beliefs as well. The other reason is that my parents have full respect for my Sikhi, and so I have to in turn respect their faith as well. They are not yet 100% happy with me having taken Amrit, and so I also try my best to respect their beliefs as much as I can, even though I don't follow them. The best way is to show full respect and at the same time stay firm on your beliefs. In course of time, you as well as your beliefs will be respected as well and this is a boost towards communal harmony.

Tomorrow almost all Indian TV channels are going to show programmes as tributes to indra. I just saw an ad about a musical performance thats going to be telecast tomorrow (dunno if its live, most probably it will be) in her memory.

I walked through 200-300 Arabs 2 weeks ago during my evening walk. They were celebrating something (dunno what ). Not one of them said or remarked anything, not even in whispers. Just one old Arab uncle came upto my face and yelled SARDAAR!!!! :wub: and walked away, and he was just acknowledging the fact as to who I was. Its surprising that Arabs respect Sikhs more than Indians or even goray (not all but the educated Arabs atleast do). Maybe its our appearance which matches that of ancient Arabian kings :e: .

Just put one question to it : Bhagat Singh Jee, you blame God for all the sufferings of the Indian people at the hands of the British. Would it be the same if India was never a slave country and always enjoyed freedom? Isn't your atheism circumstancial? Thats what I think, and I could be very well wrong in my approach.

I really thank and appreciate everyone's suggestions This is what I am planning to do 1. I was thinking of tying my daara coz I hate gel, but I am not going to, coz it would suck, and I dunno how to tie it :lol: 2. I was thinking I'll wear just 1 turban in case they ask me to take it off, but I am going to wear keski and dastar both. 3. I'll keep my kangha in my wallet rather than in my jooda, coz just in case they need to feel my dastar, they'd think "Whats inside?" and make me take off my dastar. So to be safe I 'm gonna put it in my wallet. 4. I wear 2 sarbloh karre, and I am not sure what to do. Do I wear just one? Do I take it off when they scan me or what? 5. Kirpan can't be worn on any flight :wub: @ Thanks a lot for your input...any more are more than welcome
