I personally feel there should be standard code of conduct at all gurudwaras. Either they ban all sort of movies to be filmed or prescribe a set of rules to be followed by every director/producer. Also commercilisation of gurudwaras esp. darbar sahib should be stopped at all costs. Why alpha tv or others are allowed to film in there..... Is sikh panth short of people who can operate those equipment. IS SGPC too busy to train few of individuals to do all the filming themselves and provide free access to sangat (and not sell tv rights to particular company). The telecast from darbar sahib should be provided to all different channels intrested in broadcasting.....Darbar sahib is not someone's property. They cant sell the telecast rights to particular channel who exhort money from viewers. And as for hindi movies, a plan was mooted to include a sikh in the censor board committe to keep check on the way the sikhs are portrayed in hindi cinema.... I dont have a clue what SGPC is doing about it......

I totally agree that if some beadbi did took place (which i dont think), it was SGPC's fault.... coz everything that happens in and arund Darbar Sahib is done with hteir permission. As for stopping sangat in parikarma is wrong, if that happened..... Also on other note... whenever a VIP makes trip to darbar sahib, he/she is escorted by SGPC people, bypassing all the sangat.... is that not BEADBI? Same VIPs do ishnaan, not to wash off their sins or anything, but just to show off to people...is it not beadbi? We have seen many keertanis doing keertan just for commercial purposes, and some even jumping to sing songs to earn more money...... Also SGPC does not allow sangat to take cameras and camcorders inside darbar sahib, but themselves give permission to TV Channel people to in there next to guruji for filming.... its strange.... when the devout sangat could not get near guruji, these tv people, most of them not even sikhs stand there..... Its all for money.... SGPC gets money from these tv channel people..... and sangat instead of getting their own pictures has to buy them from these people....... Doing excercise is different and making it part of religious teachings is different... I guess if i Start asking sangat to play basketball before simran and tell it is part of religion, it would be wrong. I dont say yoga is bad or 3HO singhs are bad. These people might be way ahead of me in sikhi, but since they grew up in an atmoshphere of practicing yoga so they are mixing two. As far as i know they all were learning yoga first, before becoming sikhs. For them yoga might have made easier to do simran, but it surely is not a pre requsite to be a sikh, which might be the message they are giving out. What some singhs in here are trying to do is to give analogy that puratan sikhs used to do gatka and other excersises and it is never heard that someone practised yoga, which they might/might not. This issue should be resolved at earliest before it adds to the many issues bugging sikhs. Right now it might be looking innocent misconception, but wait for another 10-15 years, when numbers of 3HO singhs increase and with them their ideological inlfuence. And then it wont be surprising to see singhs debating anf infighting over yoga and sikhism in much worse way. The question i guess is not if yoga is bad or not, or whether it helps in meditating or not. But is it pre requisite for being a sikh and only way for meditating better? As told by one singh, they give blanket statements about kundalini yoga and its benefits.... there are other chinese excersises to similar to yoga, should we start preaching that too in gurdwaras........ For me it is not yoga that would help me meditate better.... but only Guru's kirpa. Without kirpa nothing can be achieved. I dont think there is much to be worried about, though I used to do same couple of years back. But after getting married my preceptions changed. Moreover it is good that week sikhs are weeded out. Sikhi is not about quantity but QUALITY. You should continue to fillow the path of or guruji with full devotion. If some girl doesnt want to marry you for that, its her loss and your gain. You will get someone who likes you for what you are rather what you look. And trust me bro, it will make your life a lot happier. We dont have to stop someone forcefully from dating others. Just need to apprise them of the consequences and educate them about sikhi. If guru's kirpa is on them, they'll follow HIS path, otherwise they are destined to suffer. Kandola veerji, its really hard to find a good and genuine leader in these institutions.... sarna is just another politician, who has feud with badal and has joined hands with congress..... even the procession to nankana sahib was politically boycotted by Akali dal and SGPC. And with DSGPC elections around he is trying to get max. mileage from all this. Infact if u read more news about this Avtar singh Makkar guy, the new president of SGPC, he seems a bit less corrupted being educated. He has been going around checking various offices of SGPC and reprimanding people, late for work or not doing their jobs. If only he could free himself from badal's clutches...... fateh
