  1. Was there a smagam by AKJ just recently in Aussie (Melbourne) over the Vasakhi time period which included an amrit sanchar?? Did anybody attend and if so do you have an details or pics??
  2. Mr.Dhillon, I have just watched the video, and have come to the conlcusion that it has nothing to do with Sikhi. There was no mention of even Guru Granth or Guru Panth. It is fine that he has his own dera, but is this what Satguru Nanak Dev Jee wanted the Khalsa to become? You mention your mother was sick from being possesed etc, etc. Did you ever go to the Gurdwara and have the Granthee do ardaas and degh for her well being while she went through her time of need? Did you listen to the Hukumnamaa and try to follow it? Did you find a shabad that pierced your heart and recite it for her well being? I have been through very similar circunstances as you, so don't get me wrong that I have no experience, for me this happened to both my parents. But we constantly did ardaas and degh and seva and did Sehaj Paats, not from Gyanee's but on our own and my father survived from his death bed. Did you present yourself infront of Panj Piara and beg for forgiveness for your bad deeds, which is why you were stuck in the problem in the first place and ask for Khandaa Amrit? Did you do any of this before you went to that Deraa??? Why would you leave the present form of Guru Nanak in Guru Granth Sahib and run there. They are calling him "Sachaa Patshaah", that is reserved for Satguru Nanak and the Guru's after Him upto only Guru Granth Sahib. The video is right in saying that you have to go through a similar experience before you reaise that these things exist. BUT if you are a SIKH, he always turns to the Guru for help in all situations. Guru in Banee says these things do exist, but the the real cure is Japjee Sahib. Did you sit down and recite it over and over and over again till things got better?Gurbanee is the real cure. Or were you looking for an easy way out of your problems, just go dance around have a cold bath and Kaboom we are fixed. You supposed to realize the Lord through your misfortunes not get attached to a "Kaam Dhen" Tree, which will be able to help you up to a certain point after which will have to say "I can't". A true Sikh/Saadh/Sant/Baba will only attach you to Guru Granth Sahib and nowhere else. I do agree he does have powers to cure, but there is absoltly no one higher than the Lord Satguru Nanak.

  4. Is this the chola from Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur? What the name of the Baba in the photo? I though Baba Anoop Singh Bedi was in charge of that gurdwara?Do you have any pics of him? Or know anything about him? Great Pics
  5. Why is it we have huge palkees and areas were the granthee sits but for the actuall King we have a manjee that hardly fits the saroop? It is really funny how we think. The manjee should be atleast 10-12 inches around the saroop in order for it to not get deformed. We should have proper big size manjees.
  6. When we are doing Sucasan Seva of Guru jee. For the most part people have a palang and manjee, where the saroop is transfered to the palang. Now what happens if space is an issue? Can we make a manjee/palang combo that is 6 feet long by 3 feet wide and do prakash and sucasan on the "combo"? It was my understanding that the manjee should be at least about 10-12 inches or open space around the saroop, hence a single manjee excluding the combo would have to be about 4.5 wide x 6 feet long + the palang which would be 3.5 feet wide. There ends up being no room to sit or move around. All of the rooms are a similar size. I am finding in the newly built home in Ontario, the rooms are quite small. The room is going to be 11 feet long X 10 feet wide. How have some of you constructed you gurdwaras at home? Premi

  8. He really does do thought-provokinh katha on Gurmat. Does anyone have any info on him. Like background, where he is from, who he studied with etc. I heard his dad did Keertan at Nanaksar, when Baba Nand Singh was alive. His dad had like 3 or 4 kids who all died at birth, then Baba Nand Singh said that This one will stay alive and do the seva of the Panth. His dad by the way used to do keertan of Kavitaas, not banee. Baba Nand Singh did not like Kavitaas, but his dad did not have banee memorised and Baba jee said that The child will only do keertan of banee.
  9. It is quite interesting to see the many views of nonSikh Asians on the whole AirIndia case. That Krishna guy seems to have a vegence, on one hand he says we are not blaming the Sikh Community and on the other he is saying Sikh community should take responsibility and acknowledge that we did it. It was heartening to finally have a good Sikh young man who can actually speak properly on the issue and that other Indians supported the view of not blaming one community.
  10. Looks like the Singh forgot his Singh(his dhari)
  11. So did he come by Boat or Plain to Canada, and how did he get to Vancouver, Dtrive or Plane? Did he remove his kirpan? http://www.tapoban.org/phorum/read.ppa?f=1&i=35303&t=35303
  12. You have got to be kidding, I don't know how much experience you have with someone who is disabled. Doesn't seem like much. Do you not think that they all want to walk in the darbar? Yes they do, many though legs don't work or cannot walk etc, etc. They have no choice but to go in with a chair. Your logic is wacked it does not apply severly disabled people, only to minor disabled people. Where is your heart?
  13. Sangat Jee, What are your views on disabled people coming to gurdwara? My father had been disabled for a while now and I notice there are no facilities for them to enjoy sangat. I find the mentality of the committes is very non-compassionate. Someone who's limbs don't work, or who can't sit on the floor or is in a wheelchair, should we not adjust for these people? I mean if they sit on a chair or crate at the back of the gurdwara or in the entrance way, is it such a big deal? The takhat of Guru JEE is still higher than them, or if they can't sit on the langar hall on the floor and require a table and chair because they only one arm works or can't swallow while on the floor? I always thought the Gurughar was a place that was acceptable of the down-trodden and weak? It is Guru jee who is the only patit -pavaan, is it not? Disabled people are living in so much pain as it is, do we have the right to deny them access to God House and increase the agony in there life?
  14. Isn't this guy the son of a giani??? What is with giani's kids they all seem to be totally not into Sikhi. For ex Daler Mehndi.
  15. That was great , thanks for the info. Wow I am picturing it now what it would be like at the Akal Takht. So great!!!! I am already amridhari, but have always wondered what it would be like at the feet of Guru Hargobind jee. When they did pesh did the people say out loud what they had done wrong or did they go up to the Panj Singhs and semi-privately say there errors?
  16. Sher_Punjabi, What great fortune to have been blessed with the gift at Akal Takht. I have heard rumours that they do not read full anand sahib when doing amrit sanchaar there? Is this true? Please could you let us know from beggining to end what the process was at Akal Takht, I have been wanting to find out for many years, please do let us know your experience at the Akal Takht Amrit Sanchaar
  17. I was merely trying to see what the reaction would be amogst the readers of this forum. Like common did you guys actually think it was true? Just trying to pull your leg and to have a possible glance to see where our leaders may be taking us in the future if we don't stand-up and come together and have a voice. We have a women who had her daughther killed because of a love marriage as the head of our most influencial Religious Institution and we are remembering the likes of Tohra with huge smagams, but have not ever in India or anywhere else on this level remembered the shaheeds of 84 or the ailing Sikhs of Delhi Riots. Nor has the SGPC helped those families? Were are these guys taking us? To the pits because that is where they are. Has Tohra really done anything for the Panth was not part of his agenda for power? Is Jagiroe really a person to be in charge of the SGPC? We are a bunch of bafoons who are letting all this happen right under our noses. At least once a day please do an Ardaas for the Panth's Chardi Kala. What else is there to say?
  18. I am just the messenger , not the message!! Please contact SGPC or SGPC-KFC for further details. I also heard Bibi will be using promo buckets with Tohra's picture on it, and introduce a 2 for 1 special on Tohra's anniversary. Lets all come together and pray that they get good sales in order to help the panth with its problems, everybody needs to buy 10% (daswand) were of Khalsa Chicken. Let us set aside our panthic differences of Jatha and maryada and promote this just cause of Khalsa Chicken. Power to the Khalsa Panth!!!
  19. I just read this on another forum: I have some great news for the sangat. I have just heard that Bibi Jagir Kaur (the calendar wonder woman) in connection with the death anniversary of Tohra (the calendar wonder man)has released a new flavour of Khalsa Chicken* - Mango Chutney. To be released tomorrow after a formal Ardaas for the Chardi Kala of the Panth at the Akal Takht. Congrads to the panth on this occasion. *Available at all SGPC approved KFC (Khalsa Fried Chicken) locations. Premi.................Keeping you Informed........................
  20. Faith unfortunatly is not in our hands. My suggestion is to lay out your concerns in an ardaas from the heart, and surley you will find the answers. It is not such a bad thing losing faith, because it allows you to evaluate if you really had it before, or was it just something that fit "good" at the time. That is why only the faithfull can survive, because they rely on there faith not on circumstance to get them through. Whether it be thick or thin the faith gets deeper and deeper. My dad is also very sick and has been so for many years and we do care for him at home. He became sick when I was only 22, I had to quite school find a job and run the house etc, etc with no real education and bills pilling up. But faith was the only thing that got me through. Learning about other Gurmukhs and there life experience motivated me to do more naam banee which eventually lead me to the Guru. The Guru is the giver of faith, the Sikhs do ardaas to get the faith. There is no other way, regardless of what people are saying. Always go to the source for at the source you will find abundance to tap into. Who is the Guru:Guru Granth Sahib. Just let that Ego inside go for a moment and you will see. You seem to be upset and mad for what has happened.Everything happens for a reason. Hope this helps. You need none other than true Guru. Regardless of whether you have faith or not in him, go to him and ask, we will surely bless you as he did me!!!!
  21. I beg to differ on the number game as you put it: If that was the case why are we told to do 7 banees. Guru could have said just read banee it is not about the number? Why are we told to give 10 % daswand? Why are we told to do bhog after death by the 10th day. The number is just there to hold the mind to a milestone so that it does not waiver. Believe me sitting there for 40 days and doing that shabad Paat is not easy.It takes alote of pyhsical and mental strength. Very few people who don't ahve a number/time etc they have to do can sit and do it. You have to go from Number to numberless. Finite to infinite Hell trying doing it for 5 days and you will see a difference in your avastha. I also bought this book from India I tried to do the 40 days but could not keep it. Try doinf the shabads they will help your problem.
  22. I think the problem is the general sangat has not "seen" what these sikh orgs can do. They have not as far as I can see proven why we should send our money to them. I think the sangat is worried it will get used more on org and less on the people that need it. I myself have debated donating to them and did not in the end as it does not seem that they have a proven track record like red cross, etc, etc. They really need to market there services in our gurdwaras, at which point I think they would get the full support of the community.
  23. Ya I can't find that recording either. Please post the link
  24. Our Gurdwara has set up a fund and is going to send the money to the Red Cross. Donate wherever you can, regardless of the institution!!! But donate for sure!!!
