  1. I also think the profanity filter is a little too high
  2. wow yea that is really sad. I also hate to see so many girls at the gurdwara and kirtans with all that <admin-profanity filter activated> done to their face. It totally takes away all humbleness and looks so unnatural. Over 90% of the girls dont even cover their heads properly there, Their chuni or ramal is covers about 2/3 but the front of their hair still shows. Lots of punjabi guys make stupid unnatural looking shapes out of their facial hair too, dye their hair and wear jewellery
  3. I think.. there's nothing wrong with controversy. It should be allowed and threads dont need to be closed. Just because people disagree about some things doesnt mean they're being disrespected
  4. hopefully those replacement meats will become more and more popular now and they will stop killing so many animals
  5. Yea and people that spend all their time trying to look good with all that hair and makeup stuff have a pretty pathetic life if you think about how much time and money they waste on something so pointless and temporary. Back then people would rather die than have their hair cut and now people actually pay to let someone cut it. Gotta have love for the hair and stop thinking the way society does
  6. yea last week of summer works out good. i'm planning to go
  7. hehe i thought Surrey Singh and MKhalsa looked like twins
  8. I dont agree with the not allowed controversial topics rule
  9. if yes when did you? if no say whether you plan to and when
  10. how come if hair is so important, that most people lost their hair when they get old, and some young people lose their hair so early in life
  11. haha no waaaay i wish. no just found this
  12. well sometimes we argue when theres certain issues but that cant really be avoided because we talk about debatable things. I'm pretty sure we all respect each other though
  13. we can still associate with everyone because they're all equal. we dont need to avoid any truth we should see whats out there and accept it
  14. This conference is taking place this friday in vancouver. It should be really interesting. It's about only eating raw fruits and vegetables www.rawvegan.com
  15. http://www.remember1984.com/ It's the 20th anniversary today Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  16. If you are living your life and been good to people ONLY so you can reserve a good spot for yourself after death are u really that good of a person? Cause your only being nice to get something in return Maybe religion was created to offer a reward punishment scheme
  17. Spending too much time on any one thing is not a good thing. This world is about trying many things and having variety. We can do anything that we benefit from just nothing that harms ourselves or others
  18. Thankyou for your great answers. I think this is also a good answer: We dont have to be like other religions and wait till death for salvation. and having waheguru in every breath keeps u at peace at all times which is what you want in life
  19. i just got back from this and it was amazing!!! hmm s1ngh i didnt take pics but a lot of other people did so they might be uploaded onto their site soon. i'll share a few of the highlights though. *There were four speakers, a skit, and a really nice gatka performance. *Sikhism combined the two concepts of "saint" and "soldier" to create an absolute balance and you cant be a sikh if you're not both of these. *A soldier is not someone with a sword on a battlefield but someone that just fights for the truth which can be with words *For hundreds of years the moon was very respected and worshipped and people made sacrifices on days of a full moon. *Then some men reached the moon and walked all over it literally treating it like dirt and claiming it with their flag *Like the moon, the saints were also walked over cause they were just people. *They wouldnt try to touch the sun *How is it possible to be a saint and a soldier in one when a saint is calm and sees no enemies while a soldier has an urge to fight and must distinguish between sides? *Sikhs are water. They stay cool, remain lower than everything, and provide a lot of seva. Water's soldier side is provoked by fire=injustice. This boils the water and causes it to start rising and rising as steam. *True sikh priorities are 1.waheguru 2.family 3.work (people shouldnt put work ahead and do things like cut their hair just for a job) *People today always look for the easy way out of everything. *Guru Gobind Singh used to charge fines to people for speaking in the darbar but now we have people running around and talking about the suits people are wearing and look at people matha teking *Back then they had darshan of only one guru and now we have the darshan of every Guru and shaheed *We dont have to be like other religions and wait till death for salvation
  20. The final thing you think about before you die is what determines where you go in your next life correct? So to become one with God your last thought needs to be waheguru. Since that last second is what counts why waste time the rest of your life? I mean of course its good to remember God throughout your life but doesnt have to be too much like people build on it like it counts. The same way people are proud for earning a lot of money religious people are proud for knowing shabads, etc. My point is that some basic religion is important to have because it reminds you of good values you should have but it's not so important to read path everyday the way it's written when you can't understand the words. Bhul Chuk Maf
  21. hitler was such a strange character. he was a vegetarian and stuff. ive heard Sikhs fought against the Nazi's and welcomed the creation of Israel. Anyone else hear that or got info?
