1. "KARYA DUARA JIS ANMANA. NA TAR SOH PARTAKH APAANA. BIB UPADH KOH KAARAN JOH HAIH. KARAN DEH NA AATAM SOH HAIH."{62}. TEEN UPADH VAHEENOH JAUOO. ROOP TUMARO NISCHEH SOI. NEH TATT BRAMH ROOP NIJJ DHAYVANGH. JAKAR MOODH MUKT TOO PAVHANGH."{63}. Anmana=knowledge through personal experience. Apana=cannotbe believed. Bib=two. Vihino=rehat=without. Tatt=that. Roop nijj=own form. One's true form cannot be realised without karya anmaan{experience}. The sathool and sookham roop are the cause of upadhia{distress} ,so that karan sareer {body} is not your aatma either. {62}. That which is sathool , sookham , karan roop and void of thethree upadia {distress} i.e. Bramh is your roop {form} be certain of that. Youdo not meditate upon your own roop i.e Bramh , oh foolish mind the meditationof which brings about mukti {liberation}.{63}. DOHRA "HEH MANN TAJJ NIJJ BEHAR GATT ANTAR BARR SUKH HET. ANTAR MUKH BINN SUKH NAHIH BIDHAT SANATAN NET."{64}. Bidat=discovered. sanatan=from the beginning. Net=limitless, with technique. Oh mind! abandon your quest for materialism and for the sakeof bliss focus on your inside i.e. Bramh. Bliss cannot be attained withoutfocusing inside. This is something that is known from ancient times.{64}.
  2. "JOH SARBEKSAMAN SAMANA. TOH MAEH BHI SOHRAMYO NA AANA. TU NA SARB TEANTAJ JATAE. VAIHEE ROOP TAVNISCHAE TATAE.{58}. BRAMH SARB MEHPOORAN JAISEH. SARB VIKHEH TUMPOORAN TAISEH. JAITEH SRATT TAVBRAMH BHAKANA. TAITEH TAVBAPPVYABHAV NANA."{59}. Sarbek=sarb+ek=oneand all. Aana-vakhra=seperate. Antajj=something else. taiteh=that is why.Shuteh=ved=upnishad. Bapp=produced. Bhav=sansar=world. The Bramh thatis equally infused in everything isinfused in you too , not anything else. You are notseparate from everyone , in the same way that Bramh is infused in you and youare infused in Bramh and everything.{58}. That is why Vedhhas described you as the ans{part} of Bramh , i.e. kaho kabeer eh Ram ki ans. That is why it is from your sareer{body} that the multifaceted world isproduced.{59}. "BHOOTAN KOH HAIH POOHT AMOOTAN. JADDH PARNAAS NAAS HAIH MRIDH JANN. CHETAN IK RASS AAVYA AATAM. TAH BINN JADH SANGAAT AATAM.{60} SATTO ANS BHOOTAN KI JOH HAIH. TAITEH ANTASHKARAN BHAYO HAIH. RAAG DVAEKH KOH KOKHASS JAITEH. SOP RAVRO ROOP NA TAITEH.{61} Bhootan=elements. poot=offspring. amootan=jadd=lifeless.parnaam=changing/not static. mridh jann=clay pot. avya=limb/form.sangaat=gathering/collection. anaatam=jadd=lifeless. kokh=home. ravro=yours. Oh mind your body is made of the elements , that is why itis jaddh{lifeless}. Jaddh elements are subject to change/decay and that is whyyour body under goes perpetual change , like a clay pot it is destructible. Your Bramh saroop aatma is chetan and in the three states itremains constant {ik rass} , without Bramh saroop aatam all the universe is acollection of jadd padarath {lifeless things}. That is why the universe is jadd{lifeless} and mythia {non-existent} without Bramh.{60}. Prashan {question}. Is the sookham saroop {intangible} myaatma? Uttar {answer}. The satto ansh of the tatt {elements} ,produces antehkaran the result of which the antehkaran is the home ofraag-dvaekh {jealousy and duality} and that is why antehkaran is not yoursaroop {form}.{61}.
  3. Khalsa Ji Based on some of the following Bani from SGGS Maharaj Ji , the word "manaiee" ਮਨਾਈ would mean accepting God's will or surrendering oneself to God. As per: ਪੰਨਾ 106, ਸਤਰ 11[/url] ਅਪਨੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲੇ ਪਇ ਪੈਰੀ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਮਨਾਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ अपने कीते नो आपि प्रतिपाले पइ पैरी तिसहि मनाई जीउ ॥२॥ Apne kīṯe no āp parṯipāle pa▫i pairī ṯisėh manā▫ī jī▫o. ||2|| He Himself nurtures and cherishes His Creation. I fall at His Feet and surrender to Him. ||2|| ਮਃ 5 - view Shabad/Paurhi/Salokਪੰਨਾ 249, ਸਤਰ 14 ਸਖੀ ਇਛ ਕਰੀ ਨਿਤ ਸੁਖ ਮਨਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਏ ॥ सखी इछ करी नित सुख मनाई प्रभ मेरी आस पुजाए ॥ Sakẖī icẖẖ karī niṯ sukẖ manā▫ī parabẖ merī ās pujā▫e. O my companions, I yearn for Him continually; I invoke His Blessings, and pray that God may fulfill my hopes. ਮਃ 5 - view Shabad/Paurhi/Salokਪੰਨਾ 612, ਸਤਰ 3 ਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰੀਜੈ ਕਰੈ ਸੁ ਭਲਾ ਮਨਾਈਐ ॥ मानु न कीजै सरणि परीजै करै सु भला मनाईऐ ॥ Mān na kījai saraṇ parījai karai so bẖalā manā▫ī▫ai. Do not be proud; seek His Sanctuary, and accept as good all that He does. ਮਃ 5 - view Shabad/Paurhi/Salokਪੰਨਾ 757, ਸਤਰ 12 ਜੇ ਭੁਖ ਦੇਹਿ ਤ ਇਤ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੁਖ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੂਖ ਮਨਾਈ ॥੩॥ जे भुख देहि त इत ही राजा दुख विचि सूख मनाई ॥३॥ Je bẖukẖ ḏėh ṯa iṯ hī rājā ḏukẖ vicẖ sūkẖ manā▫ī. ||3|| Even if You give me hunger, I will still feel satisfied; I am joyful, even in the midst of sorrow. ||3|| ਮਃ 4 - view Shabad/Paurhi/Salokਪੰਨਾ 757, ਸਤਰ 17 ਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਗੁਰ ਊਪਰਿ ਪੈ ਪੈਰੀ ਸੰਤ ਮਨਾਈ ॥੧੧॥ वारि वारि जाई गुर ऊपरि पै पैरी संत मनाई ॥११॥ vār vār jā▫ī gur ūpar pai pairī sanṯ manā▫ī. ||11|| I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to my Guru; falling at His Feet, I surrender to the Saintly Guru. ||11|| ਮਃ 4 - view Shabad/Paurhi/Salokਪੰਨਾ 912, ਸਤਰ 10 ਨਿਆਉ ਤਿਸੈ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਸਦ ਸਾਚਾ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮਨਾਈ ॥੧੭॥ निआउ तिसै का है सद साचा विरले हुकमु मनाई ॥१७॥ Ni▫ā▫o ṯisai kā hai saḏ sācẖā virle hukam manā▫ī. ||17|| His justice is always True; how rare are those who accept His Command. ||17||
  4. “TATT NIRMAL BRAMHATAM ROOPA. SAAKHI SUDH ASANGH ANOOPA. PRAMH KARR BHI KABHOO KAHOO REETAE. NIH SIMRASS NIJJ BRAMH ABHITAE.”{54}. “VAYHAS SAMAS UPADH BHED KARR. JEEV ISHVARR KA DVADH BHIDHA PARR. MAYA AVIDYA MILL BHASEH. MUGHDOH KE URR MAHEH PRAKASHEH”.{55}. Tatt=that. Nirmal=pure. Bramhatam=Bramh+atam=viapak=ispresent. Atam roopa=my atam roop=form. Saakhi=the power force behind life.Sudh=without maya. Vayasheh=separate entities. Samass=equal life force in all ,e.g. an orchard has apples, oranges, bananas, peaches etc. but the orchard is nota good in itself but is only in existence as a result of the fruits. In thesame way in vaysit roop there is no ishvar but in samistt roop the wholeuniverse is Ishvar roop. Davidh= of two kinds. Bhidapar=seems separate. Hey mann{oh mind} you have not meditated upon the atma evenfor a tiny moment , hey mann!{oh mind} for the sake of worldly pursuits theworld and Ishvar seem two separate entities. Combined with maya , Ishvar is theuniverse. Combined with avidhya{ignorance} , Ishvar is in the form ofjeev{beings}. The moorak {ignorant fools see jeev rather than Ishvar.{55}. “TADDAP VIMALL LAKHAE TIH NIRR DUKH. JAHEH PIKHAE NASS JAHEH NIKHAL DUKH. JAAS LAABH KARR LAABH APPARR NAH. JA SUKH KARR SUKH AVARR NA VARNA.”{56}. EK BAAR HVAE DARSAN JA KO. BAKHEN YOG RAHEH PUNNAH KOH. JAH SAROOP HOYE KARR BHAV MAHIH. ITTAR ROOP PUNN HOVEH NAHI.”{57}. Taddap=even so. Vimal=pure.Nirdukh=without torment. Nikhal=all.Appar=others. Varna=it is said. Ittar=someone else. Hey mann! {oh mind} even though there exists the illusion ofmaya but still it is wise to recognise the pure , without torment saroop i.e.the creator as a result of which all torment is eradicated. The result of which there remains no desire for anythingelse and upon acquiring this bliss there remains no other bliss to speak of.{57}.

    Advice Needed

    Khalsa Ji Always remain in chardi kala. If owing to some bad time one has strayed then , ਜਉ ਪੈ ਹਮ ਨ ਪਾਪ ਕਰੰਤਾ ਅਹੇ ਅਨੰਤਾ ॥ जउ पै हम न पाप करंता अहे अनंता ॥ Ja▫o pai ham na pāp karanṯā ahe ananṯā. If I did not commit any sins, O Infinite Lord, ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਹੁੰਤਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ पतित पावन नामु कैसे हुंता ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Paṯiṯ pāvan nām kaise hunṯā. ||1|| rahā▫o. how would You have acquired the name, 'Redeemer of sinners'? ||1||Pause||
  6. WaheGuruJiKaKhalsaWaheGuruJiKeFateh. Khalsa Ji , The Kirtan style of Bhai Harbans Singh had a profound effect on hundreds of thousands of Nanak Naam Levah Sikhs all around the world. His name will remain Amar.
  7. Khalsa Ji Please sit beside her and read five SriSukhmani Sahib everyday for at least forty days. Place some water nearby and afterwards give it to her to drink. The more members of your family who can do SriSukhmani Sahib the better. With this formula the cancer will disappear. Please note that in that time period some symptoms may seem to get worse but don't worry it'll just be the illness coming out. Daata mehar kare.
  8. Vaar 41 by Gurdas Singh , Punjabi translation by Pandit Naryan Singh. www.scribd.com/mokhamsingh
  9. Khalsa Ji Please find uploaded the pdf of Vaar 41 steek of Bhai Gurdas Ji {2} by Pandit Naryan Singh Ji. Together Khalsa Ji we could work on an English translation if one is not already available. WaheguruJiKaKhalsaWaheguruJiKeFateh. http://www.scribd.com/mokhamsingh
  10. Please bear with me , will attempt to upload vaar 41 steek by Pandit Naryan Singh {Punjabi translation}.
  11.

Khalsa Ji The "Gurbani Anywhere" application for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad has the complete 41 Vaaran. They do not have the English translation for this Vaar though but that is something that we can translate from Pandit Naryan Singh's steek.
  12.

Khalsa Ji My own personal interpretations of the above are as follows: During afsos we sit on the floor as a Mark of respect. White sheets are used because White is usually associated with death and tiagh(renunciation). The body is brought home on the day of the funeral so that all family, relatives , and friends can see the person for the last time and also seeing a dead body reminds us of death too. In England we take the body to the Gurdwaras Sahib because there is not enough room in the house for all the family and relatives. We usually use one of the empty halls in Gurdwara Sahib. We take the Asst(ashes) to Kirtpur Sahib because 6th Patshahi was cremated there together with other members of their family. Prior to this people took Asst to Hardwar but Gursikhs go to Kirtpur Sahib instead. The Kirtpur Sahib Maryada may have been started by purartan Gursikhs but I'm not sure , so please forgive for any inaccuracies. In India a Gaddha (clay pot) filled with cold water is taken to the funeral pyre with the dead body which is smashed to the ground en route. The cold water is symbolic of reminding us of Waheguru Ji. When we throw cold water on our face or body in the bathroom we automatically say "Waheguru", so that is to remind us of that fact. The clay pot breaking can represent that our physical body is going to smash one day too , I.e. die. Please forgive for any inaccuracies Khalsa Ji.
  13. Excellent idea Pehnji Just a suggestion though , if this was in "Gupt" some members can post without stating their names.
  14. Khalsa Ji When my father was cremated at the crematorium we were told that the kirpan should not be too large. So we swapped the nine inch kirpan for a three inch one. They said that the karra was okay. The Asst (ashes) that we were given contained only ashes since the intense heat of the furnace melted the karra and kirpan. When we took the Asst to Kiratpur Sahib we were told by the sewadharrs that only the ashes should be placed in the river and the kakkar should be handed to them seperaty. The funeral pyre in India is not as hot as the furnace so the metal will not melt.
Mere māḏẖa▫o jī saṯsangaṯ mile so ṯari▫ā. O my Dear Lord of souls, one who joins the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, is saved.
  16. I admit to enjoying this video , sorry guys.
  17. Khalsa Ji Soch can also mean ishnaan (washing the body).

Do not hesitate for an instant - meditate on the Lord, O my soul; who knows whether he shall draw another breath?
  19. Khalsa Ji One method can be via the Internet. Listen to the santhya live and use audio capture to save the streaming santhya. Also a sky plus box allows recording and then transfer to pc.
  20. ਬੈਰ ਬਿਰੋਧ ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮੋਹ ॥
बैर बिरोध काम क्रोध मोह ॥
Bair biroḏẖ kām kroḏẖ moh.
Hate, conflict, sexual desire, anger, emotional attachment,

ਝੂਠ ਬਿਕਾਰ ਮਹਾ ਲੋਭ ਧ੍ਰੋਹ ॥
झूठ बिकार महा लोभ ध्रोह ॥
Jẖūṯẖ bikār mahā lobẖ ḏẖaroh.
falsehood, corruption, immense greed and deceit:

ਇਆਹੂ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਬਿਹਾਨੇ ਕਈ ਜਨਮ ॥
इआहू जुगति बिहाने कई जनम ॥
I▫āhū jugaṯ bihāne ka▫ī janam.
So many lifetimes are wasted in these ways.

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਮ ॥੭॥
नानक राखि लेहु आपन करि करम ॥७॥
Nānak rākẖ leho āpan kar karam. ||7||
Nanak: uplift them, and redeem them, O Lord - show Your Mercy! ||7||

Khalsa Ji , the above are the causes of involuntary rebirths.
  21. Khalsa Ji There is a difference in the versions of Sodar. In one Guru Ji are addressing Waheguru Ji directly and in the other Guru Ji are describing Waheguru Ji's Dharr (door) to us.
  22. Khalsa Ji When translating Gurbani one must do so in accordance with the Siddant (core/central) theme. Bhagat Ji also state in Gurbani "Why shave the head when it's the mind that needs shaving". The translation of the Shabad in question is that Naam Simran is the most superior actions and as such what is the point of shaving the head or becoming a member of a certain religious order when one doesn't engage in Naam Simran?
  23. Khalsa Ji The cycle of rebirth will continue until such time that one loses their Vashna (desires). It is our desires and Haumeh (ignorance) that keeps bringing one back to Maat Lok (This world).
  24. Khalsa Ji The Jyot may be symbolic of the Jyot inside us.
  25. Every God's messenger had their own avastha(state of awareness). it is upto the individual to decide which doctrine they wish to follow. Reincarnation is also believed by all the sanatan Dharam too.
