  3. Gurfateh ji. Gurbar Akaal. Thank you, you're right, I gave 'dodgy' advice, without thinking I'll edit my post. Gurfateh ji
  4. haha i get what u mean, when i lok at the 2nd pic I deffo think so - haha look at the one of Niddar again, he is standing and the jaterdar is sittign yet they are at the same hieight and all the SInghs in the backgraound are standing. The same with the Amrit one- hahah
  5. Not an expert in photography, but the images of Nihang Nidar with the new Jatherdar and the one of Amrit Singh with the jatherdar look super imposed. i.e their photos have been put on after- hahahah Not saying threy weren't there or didn't meet the new jatherdar, just saying that the photos look dodgy hahaha
  6. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh ji eidited as i gave dodgy advice, I've never rode a motorboike in my life so can't give advice, but be sensible
  7. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh ji It says Sanjha Smagam, but at the moment only dates for rain-sbai have been given. Will there be other programmes happening in the week? If so, pls let us know, also 'just a suggestion' but if other programmes are happening in the week then maybe do those at other Gurdwaras in Birmingham etc, so more sangat can attend and more Gurdwaras are involved, this will also help in ekta :0 Just a suggestion, Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh
  8. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh ji I fully sympathise with this case, and it is bad. It seems even more strange, because the expereince i have had at usa airports is postive. I am from uk, but travel alot. I have always tried to get through with my siri sahib (hidden) etc. I have had various expereinces. Once on a stop over at Minniaplois last yr, the security found my siri sahib with their beeper wand. I was fearing the worst as this is a smaller airport in comparasion to san francisco, new york etc. However, all the staff had been briefed on siri sahibs, the security guard straight away reassured me and said, ' i no this is for religion, but you can't wear it on board, but i will not touch it' her supervisor then came over and was very nice, they did not touch it and allowed me to return to check in and check it into my bags. All the way through they were very sensitive and did not give me any trouble, they said they had been briefed about dealing with sikh passengers etc.
  9. Wwaheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh ji Great about the programme. There's also a youth prog happenign the week before in slough, the sikhi camp reunion, alot of sangat mainly nawjawan will be coming to this. Would it make more sense to combine the programmes and have one massive youth prog in Slough? That would be great, can the organisers of both progs think about this
  10. Wwaheguru The sacking of these two is not 'strict'. Thats teh easy option, I can think of much harsher treatment Guru Maraj only you can save your panth
  11. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh ji I am one of the guilty ones, who passeses time at work by sufing the net (includign sikh sangat) I also use works printers to print out personnel stuff etc I also email sangat during work time ((((((( ahhhhhhhhhhhh- i never thought of it as dishonest ((((( (((((( man ((((((((((((

  13. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh. The equalities officer where I work is doing a piece on india partition in 1947 for the staff newletter. he has asked for input from myself. Are there any good websites that give a view of partition particurly from a sikh prespective. Pls help, thsi is a good opp to do parchar to non sikhs Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh
  14. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh ji Good prog, sounds like a new way of doign parchar. Also good to c so many orgs supporting it and coming together However(no offence to anyone pls).Just need to be a bit careful with the whole 'keep your hair for 40 days' and the way this is 'sold'on the day in the lectures. It could come across that it's an achiecvment to keep kesh for 40 days and then wut happens if the same ppl then cut it! after the 40 days Muslims and others do 'fasting, not cutting hair etc'for periods of time and the ones i have talked too think that by doing somethign for a period of time will benefit them greatly but then they go back to their old ways. As sikhi is practical way of life, we should be saying 'international keep your kesh day forever' I deff understand the logic that with Guru's kirpa if someone does take a small step for 40 days then anything is possible. However Gursikhs pls be careful with saying 'keep your kesh 4o days' don't want this coming riutalistic Apologies,i don't want to offend the oganisers as progslike this take alot fo effort to organisers Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji kiFatehjio
  15. Gurfateh ji Be careful when taking Gutka Sahib. At security in this country, it has been known for the staff to open up Gutka sahibs to 'search' . Also in uzbekistan (if u are changing flights, their security luggae screening is on the floor, so all the bags go along the floor including your gutka sahib (even if you have it in a handbag type of thing around your waist) As these guys speak no english, it's hard to reason with them. As another Singh said, buy one in amritser
  16. Gurfateh where are we heading? When was the date of this gig? Look at the sponsors, you've got mainstream asian orgs like zee tv, eastern times etc. but also the Sikh Times, how can the Sikh Times promote this manmatt???????????????
  17. Gurfateh. if the facts as outlined here are correct, then's its not really a victory. Some Singhs in the Midlands had a case with a major football stadium not letting in Kirpans last yr the SInghs sat down with them. The intital problem was that there was no other policies or case studies to guide them., so this particurlar club had to make their own descision (FA, football licensing, police etc left the desicision with them). Bascially they came up with a really good policy, that can also be used in other cases. If a football club allows siri shaibs in, where there is a history of violeence on terreaces, then to me that is a good step, and the same logic for that can be used elsewhere. One thing through that particurlar case, was the Singhs never compromised, it took months of negiotian, but Guru's kirpa, things worked. Thus my point is, never compromise on these issues, and have a look at other policy etc. Gurfateh ji
  18. Leh, u fakes some of those aren't true Chamkaurs massive. i.e Cov lot who only eat there once in a blue moon or when they are whining and dining the freshies )) The real Chamkaur massive are the gupt Singhs who eat there every day :umm: )))))))))))) That's the real Chamkaur Jatha Open ya own up in cOV - U fakes It's all Gur zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz [ quote name=tarunjeet singh' date='May 10 2007, 06:29 AM' post='253634] CHAMKAURS MASSIVE BASS THE SPICE QUEEN KUMI WHOS EYES ARE BIGGER THAN HIS STOMACH TARUNJEET <<McDADDY OF CHAMKAURS MURPHY AKA NIBBLER JASSA AKA HOOVER JATTY AKA FATTY GAV AKA WANNA BE Mc DADDY CHAMKAURS MASSIVE YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE WITH THE ELASTICATED KASHERAS
  19. Gurfateh I got an email about sikh police wearing helmits soem time ago (i will try and find it). I think it's just for riot situations as at present officers can't go into riot situations without helmits. There was a consultation about it, wil ltry and find the email
  20. Gurfateh Email BOSS (British org of sikh students) http://www.boss-uk.org/ Hope this helps
  21. Gurfateh i came back from amritser last yr. There were a few of us, all Amritdhari Gursikhs. 2 of them had full bana on, i had western clothes but big damalla plus Guru di kirpa, i got a massive dhari Anyway we all got through no hassle, Guru di kirpa, got our siri sahibs through too. (hidden) I've been through lots of airports, personnally (all Gurus kirpa) i thought amritsar was one fo the easiet to get through and keeping panj kakkar on.
  22. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki Fateh jio The pics are quite shocking, but before everyone rings up, protests start etc, let Nihang Vikramdeep Singh have the mtg and see what they say, maybe with Guru's kirpa, he can try and educate them about respect and looking after religous scriptious properly (if at all). From expereince, public bodies are more likely to listen to reason if explained in a dignified manner. if they don't, then by all means other ways can be looked at inlcudign putting more pressure on them, but 1st have a educated dialogue wih them Nihang Vikram Singh, pls keep the sangat informed. Waheguru ji ka khalsa, wahegurur ji ki Fateh
