I don't think western born as akaal takth jathedar is good idea as there are cultural of differences - akaal takth has to understand its people they represent and also most often we see lots of 3ho western sikhs they fail to make hard fast decisions they are more on piri side as opposed to balance miri and piri side. For example, many sikhs in canada don't like conservatives, its consider right wing for many but we still have quite diverse varying range of sikhs supporting them which is good because at least we would have representation. Mala is quite fine as its just a tool/minor aid at initial simran stages to help your surti drawn to the jaap, we need to see things in stages it will make quite a bit of sense if you see things in sikhi as spiritual development stages. Punjab roads are great, i remember taking road trip from ludhiana to anandpur sahib, it was quite smooth ride. I was there back in 2010, they had constructions going on everywhere under sumu constructions. Not really, as mentioned before you cannot have your legs to two boats. Not even others but even within sikhi itself, themselves you cannot have your legs into two boats for too long.
