  1. Veer Chatanga ji, Samprdayes are not sects or jathebandies. that is your loss if you dont beleive. My opinion is that in 1699 Vaisakhi Guru Gobind Singh ji created the Khalsa. I believe that the Khalsa has 1 maryada to be followed by all and not seperate maryada's ie Nihang, Nirmale etc. Hari Singh gave his own opinion, and he does not speak for the Taskal. Sant Gurbachan Singh and Sant Jarnail Singh have never questioned the maryada at Sri Hazur Sahib. And also the taksal and dal panth respect each others maryada very much. I just quoted what Hari singh Randhawa said about the maryada at sri Hazoor Sahib. Please listen to the katha of Giani Gurbachan Singh ji Khalsa on gurmatveechar.com. They make it perfectly clear that maas, bhang, sharaab and paan (betel leaf) is forbidden. Why should samprdayes be analysed through your warped view of Gurmat? I do not claim to have 1% knowledge of Gurmat. I am no giani. Samprdayes are blessed and originated from our own Gurus hukam. And give up trying to play samprdayes against each other over differences to try and prove you are right. I am not in the business of playing jathebandis or sampradayees against each other. Please do not make such accusations veer ji. I bow my head to mahaan Gurmukhs such as Kavi Santokh Singh ji (Nirmale), Giani Gurbachan Singh ji (Damdami Taksal), Akali Kaur Singh ji (Nihang) etc However I am of the opinion that maas and intoxicants are to be abstained from. This is from reading Gurbani. Also I do not believe that Guru Gobind Singh ji inititiated different sampradaia ie Nihangs for fighting, Nirmale for obtaining giaan. I believe that a Khalsa is Sant-Sipahi, he has gyaan and fighting skills, he/she should learn both, not one or the other. The bachans of Guru Granth Sahib ji cannot be changed and are atal (eternal). If Gurbani forbids maas surely we have to obey these hukams. It is not fair to use the argument that a particular group was initiated by Guru Sahib so whatever they practice is correct. Having said the above, I have learnt a lot from the various samprdaia and will contunue to do so ie listening to arths of Gurbani from sri maan Giani Gurbachan Singh ji Khalsa.   3. I am confused about this Jaap Sahib video. The voice sounds the same as Sarbjit Singh Dhunda and does not seem to be edited. I wrote against Sarbjit Singh dhunda on SPN because the person in the video disrespected Dasam Bani. If this video is not of Sarbjit Singh Dhunda then I apologize to him. If he reads sri Jaap Sahib daily then that is good. Can somebody provide any video or audio of Sarbjit Singh Dhunda talking about sri Jaap Sahib video and the authenticity of sri Jaap Sahib. This will help to clear any confusion.

Guru Gobind Singh ji did not start any new sects or jathebandis when Khalsa was formed. If puratan sampradaye claim to have perfect maryada then why does maryada differ from Nihangs to Nirmale and Taksal. Some Nihangs consume meat and bhang while Taksal and other Samprdaye are strictly against meat and bhang? At sri Hazoor Sahib they claim to follow puratan maryada which includes jhatka and applying tilak of blood to shasters. Is this maryada perfect? Of course not. Bhai Hari Singh Randhawa of Damdami Taksal said this maryada at Hazoor Sahib is wrong (which I agree with) yet both Taksal and Singh's from Hazoor Sahib claim their respective maryada is puratan. Perfect Maryada is known only to Guru Sahib, it's up to the Khalsa to deduce what is Gurmat and what is against Gurmat. We can use Guru Granth Sahib, Bhai Nand Lal ji, bhai Gurdas ji and Rehitname as well as other hiostorical texts to deduce the correct Rehit. I respect Taksal, Nihangs and Nirmale because they have contributed greatly to the panth. Great Gursikhs such as Akali Kaur Singh ji, Kavi Santokh Singh ji, Sant Grubachan Singh ji and many others from these sampardaia have done immense seva for the panth. However no one can claim that any samprdaia or jathebandi has perfect maryada. Its best to analyse all samprdaia and jathebandis and try and deduce what is Gurmat and what is ant-gurmat. For me, bhang and jhatka/meat will never be allowed for Khalsa although some Singh's claim it is 'Puratan'. Maryada was passed down Guru Gobind Singh ji to the first panj piare who then passed this knowledge down to other Gursikhs. This maryada that was given to the first Panj Piare (bhai Daya Singh ji, bhai Himmat Singh ji, bhai Mokham Singh ji, bhai Dharam Singh ji and bhai Sahib Singh ji) is the Perfect Maryada. May Guru Sahib bless his Khalsa Panth with Perfect Maryada.
  5. A Gursikh would never contemplate using drugs like steroids let alone taking them. Steroids are used by cheats in Olympics and other sports to get an unfair advantage over fellow athletes. Further to this steroids are detrimental to your health. Forget proteins powders, creatine and whatnot. An amritdhari should not be into body building which will just increase one's ego. An amritdhari should train to improve health, endurance etc not to build large muscles which have no use in combat. Quote: "So what about using bhang and alcohol to numb pain, would that be absurd as well? Or using bhanga to meditate? " What nonsense! Using intoxicants to meditate is 100% against Gurmat. IT is impossible to do prema bhagti under intoxication. The true intoxications comes from japping (reciting) Naam and reading Gurbani. Gurbani and Naam is the only good nasha (high) in the world. Intoxicants give nasha only for a limited time and also cause damage to the body and mind and therefore should be avoided at all cost whether Sikh or non-sikh.   6. Harnam Singh Dhumma is leader of Mehta Chowk faction of Damdami Taksal. However he does not have the full support from Damdami Taksal. Baba Mohan Singh ji is carrying out seva at Bhinder Kalan. Bhai Ram Singh ji is also doing seva. Then there are Singhs who follow the bachan of Baba Thakur Singh ji that Sant Jarnail Singh ji is still Jathedar of Damdami Taksal. All I know is that Sant Jarnail Singh ji would never have joined Akali Dal Badal. Baba Thakur Singh never said fateh or sat in the same room as Badal. Why didn't Sant Samaj speak out when Badal and his parwar honoured Advani? Why didn't Sant Samaj speak out when Badal was honoured with faker-e-kaum award? Badal doesn't care about Sikhi and Sant Samaj will find this out soon enough. I do respect Bhai Harnam Singh ji Dhumma and the Sant Samaj because they are doing parchar of Sikhi but I can't understand why they joined Badal. Sant Samaj should now leave Badal because he has given a ticket to wife of this dusht (enemy). Why can't Simrannjit Singh Maan, Daljit Singh Bittu, Sant Samaj, AKJ and other panthic jathebandis form a seperate party to take on Badal and anti-sikh forces? If all the panthic jathebandis can put aside their differences for the sake of the panth and unite, then we can achieve chardi kala and Khalistan. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  7. The SRM is good and we should be thankful for it. No other maryada can claim to have the diversity and number of contributors as this maryada. Even Nihang Akali Kaur Singh ji as well as nirmala pandit Kartar Singh ji contributed to this maryada in addition to great scholars such as bhai Vir Singh ji and bhai Kahn Singh Nabha ji. For me the largest mistake in this maryada is regarding meat. However with the kirpa of Akal Purakh besides Nihangs and few Gurdwaras outside of Panjab the majority of the panth does not serve meat in Gurdwaras. To further improve this maryada, the 3 mandatory banis should be changed to 5 banis. Sant Gurbachan Singh ji or bhai Randhir Singh ji did not sign the final draft of the maryada however they did not obstruct the passing of this maryada. Its unfortunate that people are trying to undermine this maryada which is not good for unity. No one jathebandi can claim their maryada is perfect nor can they impose their maryada on anyone else. Its is unfair to bring the names of mahaan Gursikhs into this debate. This maryada is a good basis to build on. It makes it perfectly clear that hindu rituals such as janeu or havan are not according ot Gurmat and clearly states so. Another great thing about the Singh Sabha movement is that did parchar in regards to making sure mazhabi Sikh's could take amrit.

This hand yoga has 0% value when combined with paath. This is an invention and therefore manmat. Why do you have to do mudra (gestures with the body) with Gurbani paath. Tell me one tuk from sri Guru Granth Sahib ji advocating yogic postures or 1 janamsakhi that mentions Guru Sahib doing yoga with paath, kirtan or simran. ਸਿਧਾ ਕੇ ਆਸਣ ਜੇ ਸਿਖੈ ਇੰਦ੍ਰੀ ਵਸਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਮਾਇ ॥ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥2॥ ( If you learn the postures of Sidhas (accomplished Yogis), and control your senses like this, still the dirt of your mind will not be removed and your dirt of ego will not go). ਜੋਗ ਸਿਧ ਆਸਣ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਏ ਭੀ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥ ਵਡੀ ਆਰਜਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਸੰਗੁ ਨ ਗਹਿਆ ॥6॥ ( I have also done the 84 Aasans (yogic postures) of the Sidhas and Yogis; I had long age, was born again and again and did not attain company of Vaheguru). Gurbani has rejected the methods of the yogis. Doing postures is of no use in Kaljug. Naam, Gurbani and Rehit are the fundamentals. ਕਲਜੁਗਮਹਿਕੀਰਤਨੁਪਰਧਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿਜਪੀਐਲਾਇਧਿਆਨਾ In Kaljug, keertan is the highest karam (action) one can do. In the sharan of the Guru focus your surat on Naam. ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਧੁਨਿ ਚੇਲਾ This says it all. Gurbani is our Guru and our surat (focus) should merge with the dhuni (sound) of Naam. Over and over again, Guru Sahib gives us the updesh to focus on Naam, to sifat-salah praise through kirtan and so on. Nowhere does Guru Sahib mention doing mudra and whatnot. This is clearly an invention. Good work Bhai Singhstah ji.

  10. PAL 07 Its dissapointing that refer to the AKJ as a 'big sect'. It was Gursikhs from this 'big sect' that gave their lives for the Sikh Panth in 1978 when protesting against the fake Nirankari Guru. It is this 'big sect' that continues to hold kirtan smagams and amrit sanchars all over the world.   11. Doing yoga alongside Gurbani Paath is manmat. Just read the jeevans of great Gursikhs of the past. They reached the highest levels of spirituality by just doing paath and simran alone. There is not one single pankti in Guru Granth Sahib ji that advocates the use of yogic postures, hand movements etc. Keeping rehit, abstaining from the 4 bujjer kurehits, getting up at amritvela etc are the tried, tested and approved ways to do ibaadat (worship) of Akal Purakh. ਅੰਤਰਿਗੁਰੁਆਰਾਧਣਾਜਿਹਵਾਜਪਿਗੁਰਨਾਉ ॥ - antar gur aradhna, jehva jap gur nao ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀਸਤਿਗੁਰੁਪੇਖਣਾਸ੍ਰਵਣੀਸੁਨਣਾਗੁਰਨਾਉ ॥ - netri satgur pekhna, sarni sunna gur nao We read the above bani everyday in sri Rehras sahib ji. This bani is saying: Remember god inside our Mann (mind) ie naam simran and with our tongue recite the Naam. See the Guru with our eyes and listen to Naam with our ears. Guru Sahib has given us a clear and easy path to reach God. Recite Gurbani and Naam with our tongue and listen to Gurbani and Naam with our ears. Gurbani and Naam came straight from the highest adobe which is Sachkhand. All the power resides in Naam and Bani. Satguru Mehar Karan
  12. To increase concentration and anand from Gurbani paath we should learn to recite Gurbani properly (shudh). There are different schools in regards to ucharan but you should learn to recite nitnem banis with correct pronounciation and then move on to other other baanis. We should learn arths (meanings) of baanis. Understanding the baani we are reading will increase concentration. If we try to remember God all day, to good actions, keep rehit, read Gurmat literature and abstain from activities that take us away from God then our concentration amritvela, will increase. I do not think it is right to say we are 'not interested' in baani. Baani is the from the the highest adobe, Sachkhand, which was then uttered by our Guru Sahiban and various Bhagats. This baaniis full of Anand (happiness) and Shaant (peace). As per sri Anand sahib ji, Gurbani is the highest of all baanis. Doing paath, kirtan and arths of Gurbani is always a spiritual experience that is not available anywhere else. We do not have to pay for it or be born into a high cast to read this baani. This great baani was gifted from Akal Purakh to Guru Nanak Dev ji who in turn gave it to the world. Please read this great article from gurmatbibek.com: When juice for sugarcane is extracted, it is placed between two rollers. If there is space between the rollers, then maximum juice is not extracted. Closer the rollers are to each other, more the juice that comes out. Same way, when we don't keep our mind under control and allow space in the mind for alien thoughts to come, we can't derive full Rass and Laaha from Gurbani Paath. When we do many Paaths of Siri Jap jee Sahib or Siri Sukhmani Sahib, we must ensure that maximum Laaha or Rass is extracted from each Paath. If we let our mind wander around, then surely we do extract Laaha but the Laaha is much less than Paath done in concentration. There is no limit as to how much Laaha we can extract from just one Paath of Siri Jap jee Sahib. So how can we derive maximum Laaha from each of the Paaths we do? We require, at least the following ingredients or factors to derive maximum Laaha: 1. Dhyaan (concentration): Dhyaan means to not let the mind wander anywhere but within the Baani we are reciting. When non-Gurbani alien thoughts enter our mind, they prevent us from extracting maximum Laaha from it. Dhyaan is kept in Dhuni (sound) of Gurbani and simultaneously in Arths (meanings) in order to bring Vismaad and Anand. 2. Prem (love) and Shardha (devotion): Paath done with Prem and Shardha brings immense Laaha and Rass and Paath that is devoid of Prem and Shardha is dry, and does not give Rass. Prem and Shardha is kept in Guru Sahib who is the Author of Gurbani. More we love our Guru Sahib, more lovingly we will do Paath of Gurbani. 3. Vishvaas (faith): We must have Vishvaas in Guru Sahib's Baani and believe that this Baani alone is the truth. For Gursikhs, Gurbani is Brahma's Ved and Gurbani alone is all the required Gyaan. Faith should be such that we must actually believe that Gurbani alone is the light of this world and nothing is more powerful than Gurbani. No problem, disease, accident, person is greater than Gurbani. When a Gursikh who has faith in Gurbani, utters Shabads like "ਤਾਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਚਉਗਿਰਦ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਰਾਮ ਕਾਰ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਭਾਈ ॥੧॥ ", then indeed a Kaar or protection wall gets erected around that Gursikh. It's all about Vishvaas. A faithless person can't derive much Laaha from Gurbani. 4. Arth-bodh (understanding of Gurbani): Arth-Bodh of Gurbani is required to understand and fulfill the Hukams of Gurbani and also aid in getting Dhyaan. After many Paaths of Siri Jap jee Sahib or Siri Sukhmani Sahib, when one's mind stands still, then the Dhuni (sound) of Paath alone gives Rass but if a Gursikh also concentrates on the Arths of Gurbani, then one's mind goes into Vismaad. Vismaad augments Anand and gives more and different Anand. Another reason why Arth-bodh is important is that without Arth-bodh, Shudh Uchaaran that includes pronunciation and proper Bishraams (pause), is not possible. In short, Arth-bodh aids greatly in getting Dhyaan in Gurbani, doing Shudh Uchaaran and understanding and obeying Hukams of Gurbani. Since we do Gurbani Paath, then why not give it our full effort because we are spending the time to do Paath anyways; so we might as well derive maximum Laaha from it. It is very tragic to see us spending time on Gurbani devoid of the four ingredients mentioned above. Another thing is that Dhyaan, Prem, Shardh and Vishvaas etc. are not attained by doing just regular Nitnemi Paaths. Nitnem is the bare minimum. A Gursikh should spend all his day and night in Gurbani and Naam. Dhyaan, Vishvaas etc. come after Ghor-Ghaal-Kamaaee (massive) of Gurbani Paaths. Gursikhs who are serious about getting somewhere spiritually, spend maximum time in doing Paath and Naam Simran. May Guru Sahib enable us to do Paath in such way that we may derive maximum Laaha and Rass from it. Bhul chuk dee Muafi jee.   13. I cannot forgive the Jathedar of Akal Takht sahib honouring badal with faker-e-kaum, especially after Badal parwar and his party hounoured the dusht Advani. Also the continued support of the Akal Takht Jathedar and Badal from Sant Samaj is unbelievable. Sant Jarnail Singh ji would definetely have admonished the Jathedar and Badal. Here is Iqbal Singh and Akal Takht Jathedar standing side by side with Badal. Its unbelievable that these so called leaders are still receiving support from the sangat. We seem to be quick to forget. It was Badal who honoured Advani in November yet Sant Samaj, Takht Jathedars stayed silent. Then they went as far as honouring him with pride-of-the-panth award. While Advani had bullet proof bus our own Singh's were being beaten by the police! How can Jathedars and Sant Samaj support Badal after this! Satguru Mehar Karan!   14. To train the body in order to attract the opposite sex is manmat and contradictory to Gurmat. We exercise so that we can be healthy and also increase endurance, strength etc to help in combat. I see kesdhari Singh's wearing tight tshirts and jeans. Such Singh's do not look good. A true Singh will wear clothes that do not expose his body shape such as kurta pujama or loose fitting clothing. A Gura ka Sikh seeks the nazar (glance) of Akal Purakh and not the opposite sex.

Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh had last week said that the issue would be discussed by the Sikh clergy on December 5. Stating that the issue would figure in their next meeting, the Jathedar said he had received calls from various Sikh outfits after the news of Bachchan pleading innocence broke out. Even today, the AISSF and representatives of the National 1984 Victims Justice and Welfare Society met the Jathedar urging him to reject Bachchan’s claim of innocence and help them in initiating legal action against him. They also requested him to direct the SAD and SGPC members to “stop supporting Bachchan in his attempt to get a clean chit on the issue”. The Bollywood actor had sent a letter to the Jathedar on November 28, stating that he had no role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and that all such allegations were baseless. He had also thrown light on his family's Sikh background by enclosing the photographs of his mother and maternal grandfather who was a Sikh. Great work Jathedars! In a previous meeting the Jathedars decided that Parkash Badal deserved the 'Panth Rattan' award. Now the Jathedars of the panth will have a discussion on Amitabh Bachan's letter at their next meeting. This is just great work by our leaders. Giving out awards and deliberating on Bollywood actors are the main priorities of the panth. Forget the countless letters sent to Akal Takht by Sangat worldwide pleading justice for innocent Sikhs rotting in jail being tortured and abducted. This can wait. First the Jathedars must give priority to a Bollywood actor. They must discuss his letter first because he is famous and makes many movies. Good work Jathedars! Well done! I think may they should get an award as well and maybe throw in a few siropas.

You have to realise Badal has immense power and can do many things without getting his own hands dirty. We all know how corrupt the police are in Panjab. Its very difficult to get evidence on atrocities Badal has committed. All he has to do is pay some money which he has stolen from people's hard earned money to keep people quiet. Badal has the power and wealth to hire the Panjab police to abduct, jail and torture innocent people. The police will stay quiet because they are gettin paid and promoted. The question arises, how can we obtain evidence? This is very difficult. Bhai Pal Singh ji was doing great parchar, fearlessly speaking against Badal. He was trying to bring the youth in Panjab back towards Sikhi and away from intoxicants. For this he was abducted by police, tortured. Where is Bhai Pal Singh now nobody knows. Who ordered the abduction of bhai Pal Singh? Surely this goes right to the top to the CM of Panjab Parkash Badal. Also the former Jathedar of AKJ bhai Soorat Singh ji did a press release which has been posted. Further to this bhai Kulbir Singh ji of Toronto did a debate with the missionary, Inder Ghagga defending Gurmat. It is better not to discuss elements of AKJ or Taksal that are doing anti-Gurmat parchar. It would be better to discuss this face to face and not on a forum. This will only create more confusion and further divide jathebandis. If we have a problem with a certain Gursikh it is better to approach this Gursikh face to face and have a discussion. If I had not posted then the average Sikh would have read this thread and thought that AKJ are anti-dasam which is a pure lie. Bhai Randhir Singh ji fully supported Dasam bani as did Sant Gurbachan Singh ji. Both had pyar for each other. When we want to judge AKJ or Taksal lets read the books of bhai sahib and listen to the katha of Sant Gurbachan Singh ji. We should look up to the great Gursikhs of the past such as bhai Atma Singh Panjokhra Sahib waley and Jathedar Sant Sunder Singh ji. Khalistaan Zindabaad jeeo, look at the picture in your avatar. This is the unity we need. The best way to create unity is to do parchar of Gurmat.   18. Khalistan Zindabaad jeeo Have you read the press release posted by GPS or bhai Randhir Singh ji's pustaks? Lets make it perfectly clear that AKJ are premis of sri Dasam Bani. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh ji has quoted Dasam Bani in his books. Bhai Sahib has never questioned Dasam Bani in his books. Bhai Soorat Singh ji has made it perfectly clear in the press release that AKJ fully supports Dasam Bani. Don't judge AKJ on a few individuals just like I wouldn't judge Damdami Taksal based on Jathedar Harnam Singh.   20. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh The simple meaning of Gian is knowledge. But from my understanding, Gurbani has a different view. From the perspective of Gurbani a Giani is that person who japps (repeats) Naam. Giani as per Gurbani is not someone who just has knowledge but also does ustat (praise) of Akal Purakh through simran, paath and kirtan. So according to Gurbani if one does kirtan, paath or simran then that person is a Giani. ਗਿਆਨੀਆਕਾਧਨੁਨਾਮੁਹੈਸਹਜਿਕਰਹਿਵਾਪਾਰੁ ॥ Giānīā kā ḏẖan nām hai sahj karahi vāpār. ਅਨਦਿਨੁਲਾਹਾਹਰਿਨਾਮੁਲੈਨਿਅਖੁਟਭਰੇਭੰਡਾਰ ॥ Anḏin lāhā har nām lain akẖut bẖare bẖandār. the true wealth of the giani's is naam, they do the true vapaar (business) by using naam to reach a state of sehaj ( a high spiritual stage) andin (every moment) they get laha (profit) of naam by doing simran, this khazana (treasure) of naam is ever full and the Gianis/Bhagats never run out of this khazana However Gian without prema bhagti is of no use in regards to reaching our spiritual goals. It is not a prerequisite that one must have knowledge of certain granth other than sri Guru Granth Sahib ji in order to have darshan of Akal Purakh. If one does simran with prem and keeps Rehit of Guru Sahib he/she can achieve any spiritual goal they desire ie sachkhand, darshan of Akal Purakh. First and foremost, simran of Gurmantar received from the panj piare and paath of Gurbani are essential. If one listens to naam, believes and follows Guru Sahib bachans and keeps full Rehit surely that person is a Giani. However I think it is important to gain as much Brahm Vidiya (knowledge of God) as you possibly can by reading Gurmat literature, as well as literature from other dharams (religions). Also it is important to apply those teachings that are in accordance with Gurbani. If we do not apply Gian/knowledge into our lives then what is the point of this Gian? Vedas, Quran, Bible, Torah and other granths surely have good teachings and we should respect and read granths of other religions. But as per sri Anand Sahib ji, the baani of Guru Granths Sahib ji is above all other baanis, it is the highest when compared to all other granths. In conclusion, if a person lives his life according to the bachans of Guru Sahib and does simran, swaas swaas, that person is a Giani.

News from zeewnews.india.com: Akal Takht slams Manpreet Badal for visiting Dera Amritsar: Akal Takht chief Giani Gurbachan Singh on Wednesday slammed People's Party of Punjab chief Manpreet Singh Badal for visiting Dera Sacha Sauda sect at Sirsa in Haryana, saying he had acted against the tenets of Sikh religion. Gurbachan Singh said that since Badal had broken rules which should be adhered by "Amritdhari Sikh, he was no longer a true Sikh" and would not be summoned the Sikh temporal body but warned that he could face a boycott by the community. "Akal Takht only summons baptized Sikhs and Badal was not baptized Sikh. A Gur Sikh (complete Sikh as per Sikh customs) or baptized Sikh who commits a blasphemous act or violates Sikh tenets can be summoned for hearing and be punished if found guilty," Singh said. He said Akal Takht would ask the Sikh community all over the world to boycott Badal from all public and private events if he continues to visit Dera Sacha Sauda. Various Sikh organisations had demanded that Badal, estranged nephew of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, should be summoned by Akal Takht for his visit to Dera. The Dera chief Gurmit Ram Rahim was criticised after an advertisement on May 13, 2007 purportedly showed him distributing 'amrit' (nectar) in an attire similar to that of Sikh Guru, Gobind Singh. Following the advertisement, violence broke out at several places in the country in which one person was killed and hundreds injured. In 2007, Sikh clergy had directed the community to politically and socially boycott the Dera. ====================================================================== I have not seen this news reported anywhere else. Shouldn't Parkash Badal and his parwar also be boycotted. Parkash Badal his wife his son have all visited deras in the past. It is right what the Jathedar has said against Manpreet Badal. However why is the jathedar silent on Akali Dal Badal giving siropa to the dusht Advani? Why is Jathedar silent when Parkash Badal himself has visited dera sacha sauda? The Panjab elections are just around the corner and Manpreet, Badals nephew is a threat. It seems that the Jathedar of Akal Takht and the CM of Panjab have colluded to make sure Akal Dal Badal win. This to me seems like a political move by Parkash Badal. He has utilised the Akal Takht for his own political purposes and it seems that the Jathedar of Akal Takht is helping him. This Jathedar is so openly pro-Badal. Why didn't Sant Samaj condemn Badal when Akali Dal honoured Advani in Panjab? I agree with veer 'kaljugi', it is most disappointing that these so-called 'Sikhs' phone in and say it is wrong for Sikh to wear kirpan and those that do are backwards, fundamentalists and whatnot. I guarantee that there fathers and especially their grandfathers all wore dastar, were kesdhari and probably amritdhari as well. However I 100% disagree with kaljugi with comments on Muslims and right to wear burkha. Even if muslims phoned in to attack kirpan I would still defend the right of any person to practice their religion. Personally I have respect for my muslim sisters who wear burkha. I do not understand this islamaphobia amongst Sikhs. Two wrongs do not make a right. Sahib sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji have his life so that kashmiri Pandits could wear the janeu (holy thread) even though Gurmat is against the janeu. Dhan! Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib ji!
