1. That is wrong. Whats the point in making someone do something they do not want to do or are not ready for. 103747 Exactly, if you dont want to or arnt ready to, not like you gona get anything from it apart from a seriously crap life as you gona hate it sooo much you will always want to b away from it!
2. Your best bet is to find someone who actually ties Tora Chand and then get them to teach you!! I managed to pull it off once for walsall rhensbai but that was with kirpa! never been able to after that!!! Jst have a go, practice and see what you come out with but best way is to be properly shown step by step!!! Soz cnt help tho...
3. Is Navreet Singhs kirtan gona be on there??? I missed it live so really wona hear it!
4. You should generally sit up stairs when kirtan is on as it was mind blowing!! really good!! But at the same time, people are people. you cant change them. Programs like these people come from across the country to, to meet in sangat and gives them the to meet friends and family.. It would be nice if they could move outa the way of the stalls etc as it was VERY crowded!! but you cant stop this occurance. Same can be said for upstairs tho, there was more panga going on in the top floor hall then anywhere else, kids running around going crazy? When others were trying to sleep prehaps? Anyway again thats not a knock at anyone, people choice of how they wona enjoy kirtan... PS, there was a meeting that day hence another reason there was alot of people downstairs which appeared to be "chilling"... WJKK WJKF
5. Apologies for criticism but i am yet still to understand the need to burn flaggs and dolls? Can ANYONE PLEASE explain this to me logically? They burnt our people so we will burn their flag? That makes alot of sense! Yep! Burn the flag, its gona bring the whole Panth together and Maharaj is gona see it and think, of No! They burnt the flag! Maybe i should do something now! I dont think so!! More like if you did simran and ardas he will listen to your prayers and maybe bring justice around!! The other question is, we want justice etc for the Destruction to Sikhi. Well if we go about destroying everyone elses belongings!!! And causing riot mentality (someone commented in my last reply that there was no violence... unfortunatly the general public dnt see it this way!!!) then by burning stuff, this is gona show the governments we trying to attain help from that we are EXACTLY the same! and go into MOB mode when we get angry!! - Isnt that the same as what the hindus did when Gandhi was killed? They got angry so took it out on Sikhs. We get angry and take it out on flags and dolls. Its better then humans but if we wona show people we want to have a civilised state of our own, Khalistan!!! THen seriously, no government is gona back you up!!!! Again, i still think the simran and stuff was wicked! And again, why cover your face? If you proud, leave it uncovered! Is it coz you wona go back to the place you fighting against? If so then weigh up are you really prepared to fight for it? If you have to cover up and hide your appearance from it? (thats not a dig at anyone either so please dnt take offense!! jst merely a comment somone else mentioned..) nama singh stated that Guru Ji is everywhere, that is true, but when 5 Singh, The Panj Piyaara are located, then this is Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj himself!! so is it really likely he woulda been doing that stuff? Its amazing how we are so quick to forget that side of Sikhi and focus only on the things that have been done to Sikhi. It hurts me to know what happened in 84 too but it also hurts to know what happened to the thousands of Sikhs killed before in Guru Jis time. The Pains to the Gurus themselves!! But we dont go crazy for this anymore?? Us that now forgotten as we either wernt around in that time or because we havent been told our history in full??? No offence to anyone who supports 84 strongly, but please remember, there are ALOT of people who support it that dont have a clue about Sikhi before that... My knowledge of Sikhi isnt allot but i do know where the Panj Piyaara are standing, if the are infornt of me, i will not do ANYTHING which could possible cause offense or Harm to my Guru!! Apologies if i went of track and caused offense, just thought i could post a view too.. Hopefully the next march, people wont go crazy and just show these people in the UK who Sikhs really are and the true Beauty of Our Gurus WJKK WJKF
6. http://www.sikhdreamweddings.co.uk http://www.gurugranthsahibji.com/index.htm Sikh Dream Weddings is currently under construction and duplicates the information on Guru Granth Sahib Ji but will soon host more information about the ulimate Dream Sikh Wedding (please let friends and family know of this site who have the idea it is ok for Maharaj to be abused because its only a wedding). WJKK WJKF
7. no offence to ANYONE when saying this, but i could have sworn i remember people saying this wouldnt happen this year?? Hence i said if stuff like this does happen, i would rather not be branded with the same attrocities of that which given half the chance the Indian Government would do to Nishan Sahib. Guru Gobind Singh Ji didnt go round burning flahs and dolls of the mughal emperor when his children we killed!! He did what? Wrote a letter! Praising him! He told him he was king of kings yet cudnt see through his own eyes!!! If Sikhi is gona promote this type of imagery then Sikhi is lost! Its all good doing Paath and Simran but when it comes to the Crunch!! Who is the media gona show? Peace or Violence? I think violence!! The rep centre is ya perfect example!! 7days of protesting no media footage. 7mins of rushing the joint and we on the news for days!!!! We even had it named after us! "Sikh Riot Theatre!!!!" Last yr in July when Al Majaroun were gona convert our sisters on stage we went to london for a kick off in mind. What did we do instead? We sat down and did Paath. The IMPACT was amazing!!! As BNP were there for a fight and the people were shocked how we cud sit there and not fight!!! The police themselves were asking questions and were then wanting to know more about Sikhi! A religion that tries ALL OTHER MEANS before picking up the sword! I dont condemn the violence, its persons choice, but theres a time and a place, 1984 rally's thru Hyde Park arnt the place or the time... Sorry if i have offended anyone, im sure many will have taken offense and be quick to question if i myself was there. The answer is no, i wasnt. Why? Because i knew this would happen and prefered to spend the time remembering the Shaheeds doing Simran for them with my Guru. WJKK WJKF
8. Pressed rong button!! Meant to finish with, keep ya breath while moving!!! Sorry to offend anyone if have!! PS, i dont agree to modern day crap bhangra!! WJKK WJKF
9. Is this about the actuall dancing or the lyrics?? Bhangra was done back in the day by the farmers at harvest yeh? From what i read on punjabi culture in school... If you are dancing to the lyrics then yeh its wrong but then if you do proper bhangra, not the crap you get in clubs now days, how much of that is actually implemented into modern day stuff?? from what i used to see and do, not alot as there was no1 who knew how but when i used to watch bhangra displays, the concept was different!! Also there were not really any lyrics, jst a bunch of guys with shiny white teeth smiling away!!!!!! Bhangra is also quite useful, keeps you on toes!! Something which in Gatkha you need to do??? Be kinda flexible and able to keep ya
10. A famous qoute if you go to talks in coventry... will be as follows Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a muslim (jst change to hindu..) but he was also a hindu. a christian, buddist, but most of all a Sikh. You may ask how he is all of these? The answer is he was One With God. This response is usually given to, "Guru Nanak Dev Ji is a muslim because he went to Mecca and only Muslims can pray there". In response is the above, adding, "Guru Nanak Dev Ji was so great that everyone wants a piece of him but to Sikhs he is the founder of Sikhi". Thats why we jap Mool Mantar, the first pourie in Gurbani!!! Everyone loves to use he was born Hindu, realistically not, You cant jst be born something. You have to learn about it to be it. We are not jst BORN with all the knowledge of what we have learned over the period we have lived so how can we be sikhs, hindus, muslims etc now? Guru Nanak Dev Ji Questioned his supposed faith and did the opposite many a time. He spoke against Supersticious practices and pointless rituals which did not mean anything. No other religion other then Sikhi believes this as far as i know?? The prime answer is he wud be closer to islam rather then hinduism as he preached there is only one God. Islam states this too so really, he cant have been a hindu at all!!!! Please forgive me for mistakes made. WJKK WJKF Pleae correct me if i am wrong..
11. Its recommended you check this store out!!! it is REALLY good!!!
12. EVERYTHING COMES UNDER THE HUKHAM OF VAHEGURU!! Then the question would lie is there any need to tell stories? Because how can we then "show or speak" the true emotions given of the Sahibzaday or the Gurus. We cant give the feelings the Shaheed Singhs had yet we ALWAYS remember them and say this is what happened to them. 84 is a big one, if someone was to make a video (in the sameway they reconstructed 9/11, pearlharbour etc) what would the outcome be? Id say if you have a problem with this you should feel the same about that as it becomes an insult to Sant Ji and Harmander Sahib does it now? WJKK WJKF
13. If you don't believe it receives enough publicity then do something about it. Have you contacted your local papers, your local TV and radio stations, your MP? Please don't leave it up to others - be proactive yourself. One very important achievement of these demonstrations is education; I find more and more youngsters attend and want to learn more; they also want to protest and to show their feelings. Many of them have gained their education about these events and their desire to learn more as a result of attending such events. We're not just informing the public but ourselves as well. The march and rally are not the be all and end all of activities - they are but one component. Have you attended Sikh Lobby Days in Parliament - many of these issues are now being taken quite seriously by MPs. If not then please attend these as well - you'll find many Sikhs actively taking things forward and informing MPs about many issues. No one is saying that this is an immediate process - but we have to do something. If there are other things that you want to see done - please do them. Organise and ask others to help. Or join in with others. This is no reason to give up. There are many problems and there are many different battles to fight. If more people got involved and offered their assistance to the small band of over worked Sikh sevadaars then we could move forwards more effectively. I'm going to assume that "we" includes "you". In which case recognizing this problem is a good step. Now do something about it. Incidently everyone at the march on Sunday is *not* an arm chair Sikh. So come along, print a leaflet and hand it out. If your can't knock up a leaflet then take some from others on the day and hand them out. Engage the general public in conversation and show your support for this essential event. In the spirit of your first paragraph do something proactive and keep doing something proactive. Think globally - act locally. Something is better than nothing. See you there on Sunday! 102577 If anyone has leaflets on SIKHI then take them too. Might be an idea to show the public who Sikhs are as half of them dont know!?! Therefore they can then read both documents and understand why sikhs are so angry... Also might educate alot of the supposed sikhs that will also turn up jst coz its a free trip to london... WJKK WJKF
14. Can you put a translation up so people who are learning them know what they are screaming!!! lol WJKK WJKF
15. Gurbar Akaal Deg Teg Fateh Khalsa De Harmardana Fateh Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh (at the end of the above one)
16. buy a smaller kirpan for work which you keep on you on a small tight gathra and then when you dont need to hide away, you can keep your bigger one on?
17. Is it possible to obtain a copy for showing in coventry?
18. You protest films which are offensive to the Sikh Panth. If they are promoting Sikhi then we should support it!!!! If you look at all Sikhi Films, NON of them use a real person as the Gurus. We have that respect, as opposed to christian based films where Jesus is always represented!! This animation will show who the Sahibzaday were and what they did through using technology as not to offend anyone!! Only show the story in a way that kids can learn in a fun way! Its all good listening to stories, i know some of the best tellers, but when you watch a video, stays with you longer!!! WJKK WJKF
19. My kesh is short so i sleep with 2 khanga, i put one in my kamarkasa and one in my kesh and keep keskhi on when sleep too. Tie a good keski and it wont come off but if does, a keski round my waist still so i still have the kakar (kanga in there too so again still attached). The other khanga is in the kesh and again if comes out i have another one attached to my body. Whn you sleep try not to sleep stupidly so you are all over the place!!! Try to position yourself good and you be fine! As for Kirpan, but a small sarbloh one (i recomend the one of dtf) coz its small and one piece and sarbloh!! (not advertising.. jst i dont know anywhere else that sells that one!!) and keep that on you all the time! Its easier when you have ishnaan too. Then if you have a bigger one, you can wear that also, jst put the sarbloh one under your shirt if you dont wona show 2 kirpans etc... When you sleep, jst again try not to roll around else you will stab yourself!! The other secret is have a tighter gathra! if its stays close to your body, then its not gona go far!! Try to sleep on your back and rest on your chest, or sleep on your side and again rest against chest but hold it when you sleep!! Thiyaar BiThiyaar! These are things i have adopted! and they work for me, try them out! keep extra khanga on you when you sleep, have a keski when you sleep (patkha or wot ever you cover your kesh with) and tie another around your waist so you have it there incase comes of when sleeping. When you have ishnaan, erm again wrap kirpan around your head and khanga in kesh and you be fine! when you wash your kesh, again kamarkasa is there, jst wash your kesh over the bath tub!! If you wona do all in one job then use your kamarkasa for your khanga and your kirpan but try not to let your kirpan get too exposed to water to stop it from getting damaged... Hope this helps and forgive for my mistakes!!! WJKK WJKF
20. hanji it's on wellington st, remember it's a one way road - don't be driving in the other direction like me last week! (unless you think you can pull it off but you have to be quick!) also parking wise you can park next to the Gurdwara at the learning centre 101382 Well i messed up on this one then!?! 21. Becasue its a bit pointless paji protesting for something on a day which an event isnt being held? People will have their choice on where they want to go but which ever way they do go, a bentee to them is, PLEASE REMEMBER THE SHAHEEDS OF ALL TIME!!!! AND DO ARDAS FOR THEM!!!! Sikhs have been martyerd for many a year in Sikhi, we are the only faith built on this!!! So whereever you go, hyde park or the tournament! Remember the Shaheed Singhs and Singhnis when you are bust shouting jakaray and say a couple for them to!! WJKK WJKF
22. Gajke Jakaiaray Balavay Nilhal oh Pavay Khalsa Panth Vasthe nuvaa eiya AKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALA!!! Sat Sri Akaal! Gurbar Akaal! Deg Teg Fateh Guru Khalsa Har Mardana Fateh!! (Sounded better in ma head.... ) CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE NEWBIES!!!! WELCOME TO KHALSA! MAY GURU JI KEEP YOU IN CHARDI KALA!!!! Congrats to Rav, Indi and Kiran!!! They inspired me so much and now have finally taken the steps!!! Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!
23. Its god what you did but the <banned word filter activated> shud never have been let that close!!! Shuda done him in diwan hall or inside the Gurdwara! Let him have Guru Jis Darshan after his disrepect and kept him there till cuda dumped him outside the mosque in an embarasing appearance!!!! That or shuda jst mashed him properly so he cudnt spk or who did this! Keep on the alert! We shud be protecting Guru at all times, lets start doing so!!
