  1. WOW how the girl's family is pumping up the propaganda machine by contacting all the Gora media out there. In future when ever such operations occur is it highly recommended that the Sikhs record the whole thing so such unscrupulous elements do not misinform the whole world on what really happened. And great post by Proactive Jee. You have made very good points.
  2. LOL, this seems like a total bias against the Singhs. The story is probably being written based on lies being told by the girl's family.
  3. Unless the couple are wearing a blindfold, otherwise they don't need help.
  4. It seems people have a problem that so many mixed marriages have happened before why stop this now? This argument is non sense. if manmat was accepted in the past does that means we should continue accepting Manmat? It is unfortunate that a precedent of mixed marriages was accepted long ago in the west, it should not have been tolerated from day one. Now the manmat of mixed anand karaj is so much accepted that the people trying to uphold the maryadha are seen as the villains. But it is better late than never. Just as it was previously accepted to take SGGSJ to party halls where meat and alcohol was served but now due to the vigilance of Sikhs it is not as widely accepted. Similarly Sikhs will have to get vigilant in regards to stopping the Manmat of mixed Anand Karaj in Gurdwaras. Awareness of maryadha needs to be done. I don't blame the average Punjabi for complaining either. It is actually the fault of those who know maryadha for not informing the sangat about such issues from day one.
  5. Why would you want to refute Dhru and Prahlaad Jee? These are Bhagats from the previous Yugs and since they are mentioned in Gurbani they are worthy of respect. By trying to refute these great Bhagats, you will only end up refuting Gurbani itself. Far from refuting them we need to take inspiration from them. Their saakhi can and should be told to our children to build faith in them about the power of Naam Simran. Where we can differ from Hindus is that the Hindus say they were worshipers of Vishnu, but in reality they were worshipers of Vaheguru. Hindus believe Pralaad was saved by Narsimha Avtar, but it was Vaheguru Jee's Shakti that worked through Narsimha and saved Bhagat Prahlaad.
  6. Harminder Singh Jee, so should we just ignore that this is a step in the right direction and try to find more holes in what just happened? A precedent has been set. And usually precedents are exactly what a community needs to set in motion a chain reaction. Mixed marriages (Sikhs with non Sikhs) is not a positive development for our community(in the west). If today such marriages are accepted then tomorrow it will not be far fetched to imagine homosexuals getting their way and having an Anand Karaj in a Gurdwara, where do we draw the line? A Manmat is such a thing that once we become accustomed to one thing we start to accept even more Manmat in bits and pieces and soon those bits and pieces add up and turn into a huge amount. It wasn't a long time ago that the Anand Karaj was strictly only allowed between Amritdhari boy and girl. We have come a long way from those times. The least we can do is make sure that the Anand Karaj is only between Sikh boy and Sikh girl. When an Islamic Nikkah happens, it is only allowed between a Muslim boy and girl. No matter how modern or least religious a Muslim is he will always do a Nikkah in which his spouse has to embrace Islam. Furthermore, such Muslims always make their children Muslims rather than raising them in the faith of their non Muslim spouse. Compare this to the Sikhs of today who marry non Sikhs and will almost always have their children raised as non Sikhs.
  7. What a video! It is good to see that the Sikhs who came to uphold the maryadha did not react angrily despite that bibi trying to provoke them. Instead of wasting all that energy bad mouthing the SIkhs, wish she had spent that energy on having a serious talk with her daughter on trying to marry within the community. It's almost like they don't even feel ashamed anymore that their daughter is going out and marrying a non Sikh. Total acceptance of Besharmi.
  8. Khatris of Punjab can be both Hindu and Sikh. So you cannot say it is a Hindu Khatri name.
  9. Lol don't get offended Veerji. I meant no offense. I think we have discussed this topic to the end(certainly I have). At least we can all agree that Sri Dasam Granth is Guru Jee's bani. Let us at least unite on that point. We shouldn't be starting and arguing with each other over topics which can divide us. We need to save our energy for the heretic Kala Afghanis and Missionaries.
  10. Good to know that you already have SGGSJ prakashed in your home so no need for you to prakash your Gutkas and Pothis.
  11. Okay, wasn't Baba Deep Singh Jee a Nihang?? if so, wouldn't it be logical to say he must have read the Nihang version instead of the shortened Taksali version?
  12. Veer Jee. sorry if I offended. It was not my intention. Are they not suppose to have the Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee on a higher level than the other two granths? that is what the Pro Prakash people say is the tradition. As it is in Hazoor Sahib, the SGGSJ is on a higher level than the Dasam Granth.
  13. Manmat to the max! They don't even have the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee higher than the other two Granths.
  14. Only Five Jee, then why just stop at Sri Dasam Granth? why don't you do prakash of your Gutkas and Pothis as well? That is also Gurbani.
  15. You make a good point. But just to point out there are many Dasam Granth supporters like me who don't believe in doing parkash of Sri Dasam Granth. Gurbani needs to be given the utmost respect and Sri Dasam Granth is Bani and that is not in dispute here. The dispute is whether all the rituals attached to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee should also be applied to Sri Dasam Granth. If going by your argument one were to say okay let us do all the rituals that we perform for Satguru jee to Sri Dasam Granth because it contains Bani then why stop there? why not those same people also perform all those rituals for Gutka Sahib or Panj Granthi pothis? after all, it also contains Gurbani. Let us also understand our current situation in the panth today. Right now the biggest attack these Kala Afghanis are doing on us Pro Dasam Granth supporters is that we are doing Prakash and Sukhasan of Dasam Granth and beleive it as Satguru. Why give them a chance to attack? by performing Prakash and Sukhasan rituals for Dasam Granth at this point in time we are causing more damage than good to the Dasam Granth cause.
  16. Anything being recited in Sachkhand Shri Darbar Sahib Jee is full of Rass. Maybe it is your bad karma that you cannot find Rass in Gurbani being recited in the holiest place on earth which is over flowing with pure spiritual Rass. Vaheguru... I don't even know how you can say what you have said.
  17. This coming from someone with Sant Jee's picture on the avatar?? Please go to Gurmat Veechar and listen to Taksal's interpretation of these tukhs. This is not metaphor. So many people not knowing the meaning of the term "mataphor" lol
  18. I don't think you understand the meaning of the term "metaphor". Please look up the term Metaphor in a dictionary. Metaphor is something that is used to represent something else. For example if I were to say "TigerStylesZ is a Lion" to describe your bravery then the term Lion in this is the metaphor. But I fail to see where is the metaphor in the following Tukhs: These are not examples of metaphors. This is clear cut factual statement by Guru Gobind Singh Jee saying that the power of Raam and Krishan to kill Ravan and Kans came not from themselves but from Vaheguru. Again, please look up the term Metaphor in a dictionary to understand what is a Metaphor and how it is used.
  19. I think Sant Attar Singh Mastuanay are one of those special Gursikhs in history whom all like to claim. Nirmalas like to say he was Nirmala while the average Sikh likes to say he was a Khalsa doing parchar when the Panth needed parchar the most. Although I must admit before reading it on internet forums, never knew people claimed Sant Jee was a Nirmala
  20. Is there a date for such a decision to have taken place? we have dates for all the historical Gurmattas. When was this Gurmatta taken to do parkash of Dasam Granth?
  21. So Bhai Mani Singh Jee did not collect Dasam Banis and compile it into a single Granth? and I guess the letter he wrote to Mata Sundri jee is also fake? Wow, how people like to change ithihas just to win an argument. If the Granth you are mentioning was available during the time of Bhai Mani Singh Jee it would have been under ground. Not in the open like it is now other wise why would Bhai Mani Singh Jee have gone through so much hassle to find Dasam Bani where ever he could find it years later? As for doing prakash of Dasam Granth. Please do not force the whole panth to follow a tradition not created by Guru Gobind Singh Jee. Do you not realize the negative effect this is having on the Dasam Granth cause? This is only making the pro dasam granth side look bad. By doing prakash of Dasam Granth it looks like you are giving the Granth a "Guru status" parallel to SGGSJ. These Kala Afghanis have as a result capitalized on mottos such as "Sabh Sikhan ko Hukam Hai, Guru Manyo Granth" or "Ik Panth, Ik Granth" as if pro Dasam Granth supporters believe in two Gurus.
  22. I am aware of this beer. If such a sroop was created by some Sikh during the past how is this proof that Dasam Granth should be done prakash of? It is however a good point to show those Kala Afghanis the authenticity of Dasam Granth. Such Granths may have existed but were not the norm. If this was the norm why did Bhai Mani Singh Jee take the pains to collect Dasam Bani from all over Punjab where ever he could find It and compile it into a single volume Granth?
  23. "Sroop"?? No, Dasam Granth sroop was not drowned in the river. The story goes like this. During the evacuation, Guru Gobind SIngh Jee's works which totaled cart loads of pothis was drowned. Bhai Mani Singh Jee years later collected what little was left of Guru Gobind Singh Jee's works and compiled it into a single granth now known as Dasam Granth. The Khalsa was unsure whether Guru jee's bani should be made into a single Granth or kept seperate pothis but when Massa Rangar was killed it was decided the Dasam Granth would remain a single Granth. It is said that during the evacuation so much Dasam Bani was lost that the current Dasam Granth is only a fraction of what was lost.
