If they mistranslate Bani to suit their agenda that doesn't mean we need to react by discarding Bani. If we started discarding Bani because of them then we would have nothing left.

    What a load of crap. Why don't these SJWs stop contaminating our Dharm with western notions like the Marxism and feminism. They are trying to make these changes to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, who will actually read this? This is why Punjabi speaking Sikhs should never rely on English translations of Bani. Always read the Punjabi translation.

    Punjabi Khatris are indeed the closest descendants of the ancient kshatriyas. Guru Nanak Dev ji has written Khatrian ta dharam chodia, malech bhakhia gahi which roughly means the Khatris have left their Dharm of being warriors and instead adopted the manners and language of the Malech. They have adopted shop keeping as their profession. Guru Gobind Singh ji has also said Khatri ko poot ho bahmn ko neh(I am the son of a Khatri/Kshatriya not of a Brahman) When Khatris were proper Kshatriyas they probably ate the diet of a Kshatriya which gave them the height and strong build that they needed to fight wars. But since they adopted shop keeping as their profession their diet changed. They were no longer physically active since now they were behind the counter of their shop. They became shorter and shorter with every passing generation. The Sanskrit sh sound turns into kh sound in Punjabi. For example: Kshatri = Khatri Dhanush = Dhanukh (bow) Rishi = Rikhi

    Among Jatts and Rajputs cousin marriages are frowned upon. Even the same Gotra(ਗੋਤ) and pind marriage is discouraged. But in ancient India cousin marriages were allowed just as long as the girl does not belong to the daadke (ਚਾਚੇ and ਤਾਏ ਦੀ ਕੁੜੀ was not allowed for marriage).

    I think they don't want to even listen. There is a big heretic missionary based in Germany who is a Dhandri/Neki chela. He spreads a lot of lies and half-truths including this lie of "buckets of milk being used to wash Sri Darbar Sahib". When I confronted him with facts instead of admitting his mistake like a man he simply banned me on his Facebook and continued with his lies and misguiding others. These atheist Sikhs want money to be spent on anything except for on a Gurdwara. They don't think of the poor when they spend money on themselves by buying an expensive smart phone or a car or buying a nice house for themselves and their family to live in or brand-name clothing. It is only a Gurdwara they have a problem with.

    Wrote this just a few days ago.covering this topic: Sadly this had been misrepresentated a lot in our Panth for the last few years mainly by missionaries to the point where many Sikhs have also started believing this. Firstly, it is not buckets milk but buckets of Kachi Lassi. Kachi Lassi in this case is a small portion of milk(about 20%) mixed with 80% water. The reason this is used since ancient times in India is because it does not damage marble flooring. In fact it gives a soft feel to the marble after applying it. The alternative to this is modern chemical based products which can damage the marble long term by corrosion and wearing it out. Besides this these modern chemical based products can also cause cancer and damage the environment. So Kachi Lassi is definitely best suited for this sewa.

    Unlike us on this forum, Panthic minded Sikhs in India have become close and friendly to Muslims. This is all a reaction to the Hindu treatment of the Sikhs post 1947 and 1984 Ghalukara and the ten years of bloodshed that followed. Hindus have a lot of Sikh blood on their hands which pushed Sikhs and Muslims into a strategic alliance. That's why Sikhs in India are always at the forefront when standing up for Muslims in India. Our movies now always show a positive Muslim character. Even our Punjabi music industry you see so many Punjabi singers singing Sufi islamic style like Gurdas Mann Kanwar Grewal, Satinder Sartaj while insulting Hinduism as Ranjit Bawa recently did. Or look at how Harpreet Singh Makhu always brings Muslims to an interview to present Muslims and Islam in good light but whenever he brings a Hindu it is to argue and fight with them. Problem with Sikhs is that either they become very pro Hindu or they become very pro Muslim and they end up being used by both sides as a weapon against the other. Neutrality is the best policy. Let the Hindus and Muslims fight it out and weaken each other.

    The way things are going it's just a matter of time. We already can see this in modern Khalistani narrative where they justify their cozying up with Muslims by trying to find a Hindu conspiracy theory in every Muslim Sikh conflict. All over India you will see Sikhs letting Muslims use the Gurdwara as a Masjid. Next step is having a permanent prayer room for their Islamic call to prayer and these SJW Sikhs will probably find a quote from Bani to justify this just as they have mishandled the concept of Langar.

    Exactly. Sikhs until 20 years ago didn't indulge in this madness of trying to become the biggest SJW. All they do is quote and misinterprete Bani like the famous "Manas ki Jaat Sabhai ekai Pehchanbo" but conveniently ignore the Bani where Guru Gobind Singh ji very clearly says that he only likes it when Daan is given to poor Sikhs.

    If they want to quote a Bani that is asking to destroy Hindu Dharm, Mandirs, Vedas and calling Hindu religion as corrupt that is their ignorance. What sense does it make to discard Bani for their ignorance. It is mostly always Bani from Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji that they are quoting. Not too long ago I saw a YouTube video of a Hindu quoting the Shabad "ਧਨਿ ਧੰਨਿ, ਓ ਰਾਮ ਬੇਨੁ ਬਾਜੈ" in order to show Sikhs are Hindus. That doesn't mean we should discard that shabad. Dasam Bani is the what makes the Khalsa what it is. We still have audio of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrawanale doing Katha of Chandi di Vaar and Chandi Charitar and other Dasam Banis. Chandi Di Vaar Paath was one of the favourite Paaths of Kharkoo Singhs who would do many Paaths daily. It is those Singhs who we should emulate not the missionaries who started the recent trend of doing Shanka of Dasam Bani. It is shocking to note missionaries/shankavadis have not given even one Shaheedi for the Panth yet they act like they are the guardians of the Panth. Phobia of Hindus should not supercede love for Bani. Once a phobia gets to the point where we start to do Shanka of Bani, it is the phobia that should be re examined.

    There was another Singh who recently passed away a few years ago. His name was Bhai Mohinder Singh Kala Sangha. I think he was the head of the AKJ. He had a tumor in his brain. The doctor said they can save him but he refused because the doctor needed to cut this Kesh for the operation which he wasn't willing to allow.

    I dont think India will go to the extent of waging a full war with Pakistan over Kashmir. What they are doing now is they are only engaging in a war of words giving Pakistan what PakIstan has been doing for decades by verbally claiming Indian occupied Kashmir. India knows occupying Pakistani territory is not safe nor practical because it would mean bring in millions Muslims which India wants to avoid having more of. What India will try doing next is follow the Israeli model of changing the demographics on ground by establishing Hundu settlements all over Kashmir. As for their designs on the Sikhs. Its not Singh Sabha they are trying to reverse or promote Dasam Bani. On the contrary they are encouraging atheism and missionary Soch among the Sikhs. Because they know a Sikh who believes in Dasam Bani is the most dangerous kind of Sikh who is willing to fight and die for Sikhism. But the only Sikh who is not willing to kill or be killed is the missionary types who till date have not given even one Shaheedi for the Panth. It is no coincidence that after the fall of the Kharkoo movement in the mid 1990s we saw the rise of Sikh missionaries, Gurbaksh Kala Afghana and now their ultimate weapon Dhandriwala who is trying to spread atheism and disbelief among Sikhs and discard Dasam Bani. They want that Sikhs should discard the Bani of Guru Gobind Singh ji that turns us into warriors.

    The tactics these Christian missionaries are using is the lowest of the low. They deceive others by using their religious symbols and terminology. They wear Dastars to fool gullible people. They call their singing as Kirtan, congregation as Sangat and Bible as Bani. They are doing the same with Hindus by using their terminology like saying their singing is Bhajan, they call Jesus as Bhagwan and Mary as Devi. They have even started doing Christian Garba, Christian Bharatanatyam dance and Christian Yoga. Muslims are smart they know of these tactics which is why in Indonesia and Malaysia Christians were banned from using the term Allah so they don't fool Muslims into conversion.

    General Harbaksh Singh is an unsung hero. In 1965 when the Indian army was on the verge of defeat the Chief of Army Staff(a Hindu) had ordered the Indian army to retreat all the way back to river Beas. General Harbaksh Singh who was there and in command refused to follow this order of his superior because by retreating all the way back to river Beas would mean surrendering Sri Darbar Sahib and Amritsar to the Pakistanis. So the Sikhs in the Indian army fought so valiantly under General Harbaksh Singh that they turned a Pakistani victory into a defeat. Since General Harbaksh Singh turned defeat into victory he was not court marshaled for refusing to follow the orders of his superiors. Seeing his rank and war experience he should have been the Chief of Army Staff instead of Manekshaw who was a minor junior Parsi officer in comparison but was elevated to the top position due to his closeness to Indira Gandhi who wanted an obedient yes man to fill that position.

    I have heard that during those times the Mughals and Afghans would try to infiltrate their spies into Sikh ranks. The Singhs were aware of this. So when a Muslim expressed his desire to join the Sikhs by becoming a Sikh, the Singhs would first test him by making him eat some pork to see if he is really serious about leaving Islam. So maybe Qazi noor Muhammad thought all Sikhs are pork eaters. Another way of looking at this is pig eater is also used as a term of insult among Muslims. Qazi Noor Muhammad also called Sikhs black faced which should be seen as a term of insult rather than literally being black faced. In South Asia when someone did something shamefully wrong their faces were blackened and paraded on a donkey.

    In 1984 the Sikh officers were the traitors not the Sikh soldiers. The Indian government had moved Sikh soldiers far away from Punjab so they would not be able to cause trouble. In 1984 as news came of the attack thousands of common Sikh soldiers and even a few officers had mutineed and tried to find they way back to Punjab but they were ruthlessly stopped. Today those Sikh soldiers are known as Dharmi Faujis. I think a Sikh regiment was even permanently disbanded. But I agree with the rest of your post. Fact is today's nationalist Hindu does not follow the chivalrous ancient Kshatriya tradition where a warrior lived and died following a code of conduct based on Dharm. Instead today's nationalist Hindu has opted to follow the Maratha example. The Marathas did not follow any Kshatriya tradition. They were no different than the Afghans in their conduct which is why even Hindu rulers preferred the Afghans to the Marathas. Hindu nationalists like the Sikhs just as long as the Sikhs are obedient and only look after Hindu interests. Once Sikhs look after their own interests then they are regarded as disloyal traitors and separatists who must be killed mercilessly.

    It is good we are getting this type of hard slap of reality knocked into us. This is why we should first take care of our own. If we don't take care of our own no one else will. Neither Christians, Muslims nor Hindus will come to our aid when we need it. If we have poor Sikhs what sense does it make to leave them and spend our valuable resources on others like Khalsa Aid does. Guru Gobind Singh ji very clearly says in Baani that a Sikh's daan must first go to other GurSikhs. ਦਾਨ ਦਯੋ ਇਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਭਲੋ, ਅਰੁ ਆਨ ਕੋ ਦਾਨ ਨ ਲਾਗਤ ਨੀਕੋ।। ਆਗੈ ਫਲੈ ਇਨਹੀ ਕੋ ਦਯੋ, ਜਗ ਮੈ ਜਸੁ, ਅਉਰ ਦਯੋ ਸਭ ਫੀਕੋ।। ਭਾਵ: ਸਿਖਾਂ ਵਲੋਂ, ਸਿਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਦਾਨ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਲਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਦਾਨ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਗਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤਾ ਦਾਨ ਹੀ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਪਰਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਲੇਗਾ; ਗੈਰ-ਸਿਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾਂ ਦਾਨ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਜੱਗ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਜੱਸ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਿਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਨ ਕਰੇਗਾ। One should always give Daswand to Parcharaks and poor Gursikh families in India. If we don't take care of our own then these Christian vultures are always ready to soul hunt on poor Sikhs.

    Yeah the Balakot attack was a disaster for India and a huge boost for Pakistan's self confidence in its security forces. On top of that the way they made a video of the Indian pilot drinking tea was just embarrassing. Pakistani security forces are battle hardened with years of fighting in the harsh mountainous region of Waziristan against Pathans. Indian army hasn't had any war for over 20 years. But I don't think India and Pakistan will fight a big conventional war. The next war will be a major insurgency probably in Kashmir. Next 2 decades I think things will get pretty ugly in Kashmir. Not just that, but the gap between Hindus and Indian Muslims is also widening further and further. Hindu Muslim violence will probably spill out all over India. We Sikhs just need to sit back and mind our own business and stop acting like Hanuman all the time who gets his tail burnt for another's man's dispute.

    It's one thing to do something so disgraceful but instead of being ashamed of this he actually goes to the media and gets praised for this by non Sikhs. He set a wrong example and has made it harder for other Sikhs who will now be pressured likewise. And like someone says, it wasn't even an open beard. It was a tied up beard. The mask could have fit. So he really had no reason to shave it off.

    You make a good point. But reading Giani Ditt Singh jees writing in the form of his Niti Bachans, his articles, his translation of Shabads published by Dr Inderjeet Singh Gagoani, I noted how he wrote about Sikhism to make it less complicated and more easy to understand which was best suited to tackle new opponents in the current situation. He wrote to counter not just Arya Samajis but Sakhi Sarvars, Ahmadi movement, superstition etc. The problem with Amritsar Singh Sabha was they were not willing to let go non essential baggage such as the caste system, veneration of Guru Ansh(Bedis, Sodhis, Bhallas and Trehans). Part of the Singh Sabha movement were Sant Attar Singh Mastuanewale who did massive parchar and brought lakhs of people into the fold of Sikhi. Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh ji practically started liberating the Gurdwaras when he and his Jatha liberated Gurdwara Raqab Ganj, Singh Sabha Bhasaur did a lot of Parchar in Malwa. Their rivals the Cheif Khalsa Diwan under Bhai Vir Singh Ji also did a lot of Parchar all over Punjab and brought Punjabi language to a level rivaling Hindi and Urdu in sophistication and literature. I think It was these movements collectively that gave shape and direction to the Akali movement. On PDL they have very old books dating from that time period. From that period you will find books written by Sikhs who counter Christianity, Arya Samaj. A very good book opposing the Hindi language written by Pandit Kartar Singh Dakha who proved the case of Punjabi language over Hindi.

    I saw this video a few months ago. I don't think he is a salafi. I think he is a mainstream Sunni also known as Barelvi. That is what most Sunnis in the Indo Pak subcontinent are. Salafis are small but growing fast due to Saudi funded madrasas opening up in Pakistan and India. The Barelvis are the ones who believe in Ghazwa Hind since many of their Peer Babas have seen visions of Islamic armies conquering Hindustan and beating Hindus in a bloody war.

    It has never been washed with milk. But Kachi Lassi sure has been used ever since marble was installed. And there is nothing wrong with using kachi lassi. The "feed the poor" argument doesn't apply to the Sikhs since Sikhs feed lakhs of people every day in Langar. None of these atheist communist missionaries have been able to do that much for the poor who use these arguments against the Sikhs.

    Arya Samaj is very strong in Haryana especially in the Urban parts. Punjabi Hindus were also very strongly influenced by Arya Samaj. That is why they always promoted Hindi over Punjabi since Dayanand Saraswati is the one who began promoting Hindi as a tool to strengthen and unify the Hindus. Muslims similarly saw Urdu in this way. That's why both Hindus and Muslims feel ashamed to speak their mother tongue Punjabi. Punjabi Hindu opposition to the Sikhs was mainly due to Arya Samaj. Had Arya Samaj not been there it is likely that all Punjabi Hindus would have become Sikhs under the influence of the Singh Sabha movement. Arya Samaj had made major inroads into Haryana during that time period. A Haryanvi guy named Sant Rampal who is a Kabir Panthi had made some very good points exposing Daya Nand Saraswati from his writing in Satyarth Prakash. This incensed the Urban Arya Samajis in Haryana so much that they got him arrested.
