  1. gurpartaap sooraj granth (sooraj prakash) written by Kavi Bhai Santokh Singh Gur Bilaas Paatshaahee 10 writen by Kuyer Singh and another granth of the same name written by sukhsa singh Pracheen Panth Prakaash - first time was written by bhai raatan singh bhanghu -second version written by Giani Gian Singh there are other historical granths too, i just dont know nothing about them
  2. a lot of the sakhis are written in historical granths such as sooraj prakash or panth prakash. Some are found in kabits and vaaran written by bhai gurdaas ji. Also bhai nand laal and some other kavis that were part of dasam patshaah's darbaar left us some sakhis in their writings. Some also come from Siri Guru Granth Sahib jee such as the one about the mandir turning around to face bhagat ravidaas jee. Some others also come from Dasam Granth - specifically bachitaar naatak. Some others are made up.

  5. firstly, i did read it with a calm mind, i personally couldnt care less what is written about sampardas as i have my own views on such issues. secondly, i said what i did just so u can in the future u can give your point without an arguement starting, there is no need to include information about sampardas in a post about depth of bani WHEN you know that majority of people on this forum do not agree with the beliefs shown in this article. You are entitled to your beliefs, others are netitled to theirs. When the chances of anyone changing there beliefs on this issue are very slim, is there really a point in even discussion it? Thirdly, I am not associated with any jatha/samparda
  6. if thats all you really wanted to share, you could have easily only posted the areas that talked about the depth of bani, instead of posting all parts of the article which talk about sampardas, especially since you know the majority of people on this board dont agree with your beliefs on sampardas. You post an article that you clearly know will start a debate that you've been involved in many times before. And than in all your other threads you sit there arguing about no "pyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar" for other peoples beliefs.
  7. whats with u and trying to push your beliefs on to everyone? Why does it matter to you so much if not everyone agrees with you?
  8. thats cuz its from dasam bani heres the link for translations http://www.sridasam.org/dasam?Action=Page&...glish=t&id=1600
  9. listen to sant gyani kartaar singh jees katha on gurmatveechar.com , i cant remember the filename anymore but it may be the rehat in sikhi one,,,he gives an explanation very different than the one given by gyani takhur singh in the stuff u've been posting
  10. JSS, im pretty sure ur wrong about the mangalcharan thing, im pretty sure in most purataan saroops some mangalcharans are done as gourre sukhmani mehalla 5 salok Ik Oankaar Satigur prasaad
  11. namstang, you really like filtering out peoples comments and just paying attention to the stuff you want to pay attention to. You seem to be forgetting the Bijla Singh gave a story of his maama to show that baba wearing "Singhs" were really working for police
  12. no, if u want it cut in half, by the 10yds and than cut that in half and u got 2 ten yard dastaars
  13. singing bani in guru sahibs darbar is meant to be a great honour and a very respected position. Unless everyone is singing bani together, i think there should be a stage. However i believe that stage should be pointing towards guru sahib. In the case of sitting on the ground, the keertanees still usually get another chadder underneath them which still creates an equality in sangat. If the point is that everyone in sangat should be equally levelled you should take away the cahdder as well or give it to all sangat.
  14. The following five K’s are the mark of Sikhi. These five can never be parted from the body. Kara, Kirpan, Kashera, Kangha, recognise these as four of them. The fifth is Kesh, without which the other four are useless. There are also four H’s which must be avoided. Understand this without any doubt, no lies have been told. Hukka, taking tobacco (including any other type of intoxicants). Hajamat, removing of hair. Halalo, eating meat. Haram, adultery (sexual relationships outside of marriage). These are the four H’s. Dyeing of beards (including any other body hair), and the wearing of mehndi (including other types of make up) are strictly forbidden. (Sri Dasam Granth)
  15. i meant just the audio of someone reading the bani

  18. London Raensabhyee was AMAZZINGG, thanks to everyone who came out. after planning on going until only 4, we had soo many keertanees left and soo much sangat still there, that we ended up finishing off at 6.
  19. backto the original question, does anyone have basant ki vaar...akj style? if u want basant ki vaar in raag, goto gurmatsangeetproject.com and there is a recording by gurmeet singh
  20. kathawajaks say lots of things, just cuz 1 person told u that bibian did seva in guru sahibs time, doesnt make it true. Listen to a kathawajak from taksal and he will tell u they didnt do seva previously. Dont pick and choose what to belive
