    Caste

Sikhism doesnt believe in castes. If you want the pure Sikh religious perspective then no Sikh should enforce themselves to marry someone of the same caste. But answer to your questions of any afghan Sikh castes. well to my knowledge I know of only two. 1. Khatri 2. Kabuli Theres a few afghan pathans are Sikhs also. There maybe more castes but I dont know about them.
  2. A DEVOUT Muslim flew into a rage when he caught his mother at home with her married Sikh lover and stabbed him through the chest, a court heard yesterday. Faisal Malik was outraged when he walked in on the pair after coming home from work early. In the ensuing scuffle, Himit Kang was pierced through his chest by a large blade, which sliced into his liver. He was rushed to hospital and saved by emergency surgery, but not before losing two litres of blood. Malik, 19, who was originally charged with attempted murder, always maintained he meant to scare but not stab Mr Kang. On the second day of his trial last month, he admitted one count of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. A judge heard last week how the religious teenager disapproved of the behaviour of his westernised mother, Shahnaz Begum, who drank alcohol and carried on a relationship with Mr Kang. Rupert Pardoe, mitigating at Reading Crown Court, said: “He was deeply, deeply upset on a previous occasion when his mother returned to the house, dishevelled and drunk, in full view of the neighbours.” On January 11 this year Malik had left work early from the night shift at Brakes Caterers because he was feeling unwell. When he got home to Broad Platts, Langley, he disturbed the two lovers, whose relationship appalled him. “He came back unexpectedly. His mother and Mr Kang no doubt thought they were locked up for the night,” said Mr Pardoe. “What happened next is a matter of deep regret.” The defence argued, and the prosecution accepted, that Malik rushed to the kitchen and returned with a large knife in an attempt to scare Mr Kang from the building. Ms Begum jumped in between them to try to stop the situation from escalating, and moments later the knife was plunged into Mr Kang by accident. Mr Pardoe said: “The lesson has now been learned, and if ever a young man is to have the perils of grabbing a knife brought home to him, it is by the facts of this case. “Fortunately the injury was not one which ultimately threatened Mr Kang’s long-term well-being.” Mr Kang wrote a letter to the court in an attempt to minimise the severity of Malik’s punishment. Judge Zoe Smith told the defendant: “In January of this year you were angered by the fact that your mother had invited a man into her house. “When he did not leave you took a knife from the kitchen, and despite your mother’s attempts to restrain you, you moved your arms in Mr Kang’s direction, holding the knife, and he was stabbed in the chest.” Labelling the defendant as ‘controlling’ over his mother, she described the events of the evening of January 11 as ‘very unusual’, but accepted that Malik had not planned the attack, but rather had acted immediately on his return home. The defendant, who has previous convictions for assaults, was jailed for 18 months, with 207 days served on remand to be deducted from the total. http://www.thisisslough.com/live/stories/s...p?story_id=2646
  3. my prayers and thoughts are with you and your mother.. sister. May Waheguru bless her with a speedy and full recovery...

The piece of sparkling stone or the meteroite was seen in a field in Hotitur village. The piece is about 8cm by 5 cm in size and weighs around 100 gms. The piece was immediately taken into custody by the police. Later, that the local administration took away the piece for scientific examination, according to sources. Further details on the incident and the object are awaited. Bureau Report http://www.zeenews.com/articles.asp?aid=38...=26&ssname=
  5. The exaggeration and claims of: "Fact - hundreds of Sikh girls are targeted and converted every year Fact - in some cases, Muslims are paid 10 thousand pounds to convert a Sikh girl, while its 7 thousand for a hindu Fact - even black magic is used 2 convert sikh girls" Just discredit what that profile is trying to achieve. If people want to create awareness do it with facts not make supertitious wild claims that make it laughable.
  6. Interesting article.. Theres alot of truth in it but it has an obvious hindu nationalist bias to it. He seems to suggest that the sanhatan Sikhs are basically hindus. Yet the founder of our faith quite clearly states and rejects against idol worshipping and questioned many useless hindu rituals he was born into. Also he stated before God there is no hindu or muslim, meaning were all his creation. As for the british govt back in the days of the raj in punjab propping up tat khalsa, well they know how to use the strategy of divide and rule very well. And when their hosts have served their propose they backstab them, as they did in 1947 splitting the punjab in half and giving it away to islamic and hindu nationalist entities of Pakistan and India.
  7. lol that is what they dont realise! They so blinded by their anger and hate towards Indian govt (Justly so) that they think only hindus run it. This is not true many christians, sikhs, parsis and others also contribute to what happens in the Indian states. The hindu fundamentalist groups are a threat but not a bigger threat to islamic jihadi types who do not have the pularistic thinking or respect for other faiths to co-exist in equality sense. The Islamic ideology is to want to undermine others and then to take over, they do it on several confronts. We must always remember what the long term agenda is of Islam (global conquest and impostion of 7th century shariah law throught the islamic superstate khalifat) compared to what the short term goals maybe for our people (ie nationhood - Khalistan) which would be engulfed by the islamic hordes once again if we do not forget who the real opposition to humanity and freedom is.
  8. The govt of India maybe made up of hindus but they do not represent hindu's. Fair enough expose the RSS, VHP, Baj Rang Dal if you have evidence that they were involved in anti-sikh propaganda or attacks. But remember the vast majority of converts to Sikhism come and came from Hinduism. If you want Sikhi to reach out to these people attacking hindus is not a bright idea. Whereas Islam on the other hand has a very different agenda clearly and explictly states what it thinks of non-muslims and how a muslim should treat the kafir. Asking from help from pakistani muslims to defeat India to get half a kilo of punjab is very short sightedness. Once the islamics are there they will seek to ethnically cleanse non-muslims once again from their non-muslim indignous lands and claim it as their own. Hinduism is a dharmic religion is pularistic like sikhism and we should respect it more than abrahmic religions especially Islam. That is way I say if in long term we do not want our Sikh brothers and sisters to suffer the same fate as 1947 and see Sikhs ethnically cleasened from their own homeland (pakistani occupied punjab) we must remember who the real long term foe is and what their agenda is!
  9. I would like to ask those brothers who are making anti-hindu comments and videos on youtube to stop because vast majority of hindus are not the enemys of Sikhs. They do not wish to harm or bring ill will to our community, their scriptures do not talk of conquesting, converting or making the non-hindus pay non-hindu tax. Respect your hindu brothers and let them believe in what they want as long as doesnt harm you directly! Remember one of the fundamental messages of Sikhism. "No one is my enemy No one is a foreigner Will all I am at peace God within us renders us Incapable of hate and prejudice." - Guru Nanak Dev Ji
  10. A Calgary woman waiting for her husband to arrive in Canada is upset by a long-standing immigration policy that forces people with the surname Singh or Kaur to change their last names. Tarvinder Kaur, who is pregnant, said her husband Jaspal Singh's application to become a permanent resident has been delayed for well over a month because of his last name. He has no choice but to legally change his name in India so he can get to Calgary before she gives birth next month, she said. CBC News has obtained a copy of a letter sent from the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi to Singh's family stating that "the names Kaur and Singh do not qualify for the purpose of immigration to Canada." "Why are we needing to make a different last name?" said Kaur. "You choose what your last name is going to be and if it's always been a certain way, then why should you have to change it?" Traditional Sikh names Singh and Kaur are common names in the Sikh community. In a tradition that began more than 300 years ago, the name Singh is given to every baptized male and Kaur to every baptized female Sikh. Continue Article The names are used differently by different people. Some use Singh or Kaur as middle names, while others use them as their last names. Karen Shadd-Evelyn, a spokeswoman with Citizenship and Immigration Canada, said the policy preventing people from immigrating to Canada with those last names has been in place for the last 10 years. "I believe the thinking behind it in this case is because it is so common. [With] the sheer numbers of applicants that have those as their surnames, it's just a matter for numbers and for processing in that visa office." Citizenship and Immigration Canada says there is no such policy against other common last names. Kaur, who was born in Canada, says that's unacceptable. "If it's going to be a standard policy it should be standard with all common last names. Why is it that it's only Singh or Kaur that's being attacked by this?" http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/2541/ca...anracismdr3.png see document here
  11. The USA military should not be waiting for the enemy to strike it but take the oppertunity and take a pre-emptive strike. Carpet bomb if need be large parts of that area where these taliban and al-qaeda jihadi's are holding out. The enemy (jihadi's) have declared war so anything against the places where they reside is game. These pasthuns islamic tribesmen were taught a lesson by the Sikh army during maharajah singhs era crushing barbarian jihadi's who were invading and creating havoc in nothern india. These people have backward mentality and only understand violence so violence must be brought on their terrorist pakistani safe haven until they are eradicated, there should be a zero tolerance attitude to appeasing these people.
  12. US ready to flatten FATA if attacked by al-Qaeda from there From our ANI Correspondent New York, July 22: American intelligence officials have said that should a resurgent al-Qaeda think of attacking the United States again after a gap of six years from Pakistan's volatile Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), the Bush Administration would not hesitate to move in troops to "flatten" the area. In a report filed by the New York Times (NYT), Washington now believes that the recent events taking place in Pakistan, have at last presented it with an opportunity for a serious campaign against Islamic radicals in Pakistan. The breakdown of a cease-fire between elders in Pakistan's tribal areas and the Musharraf regime, combined with Musharraf's determination to crack down on extremists in his country, may finally have given Bush something his predecessor, Bill Clinton, never had: "A partner who may at long last be persuaded to go after an entrenched terrorist haven," says the paper. As a National Intelligence Estimate released last week has made clear, the al-Qaeda has reconstituted itself in the wild tribal areas of north western Pakistan. It is now stronger than at any other time in years, and is actively plotting new attacks. In Pakistan, experts argue that should Musharraf begin an aggressive campaign against the Al Qaeda and the Taliban, it wouldn't be to please Washington, but to project an image of "being a forceful leader before his countrymen go to the polls." "There is recognition on Musharraf's part that he has an opportunity now that may not exist in a future political configuration because his power may wane," the NYT quotes Daniel Markey of the Council on Foreign Relations, as saying. The paper further goes onto say that the Bush Administration is captivated by General Musharraf because "he is a secular moderate", and "not to be confused with a civil libertarian." The view in Washington now appears to be that the Musharraf Government has, at long last, gotten the message that the FATA is an area fanning extremist violence, and therefore, requires decisive attention. According to the paper, no one in Washington believes that Pakistan's intelligence service has been purged of Taliban sympathizers. "When Americans hear General Musharraf's promises, they are once burned, and twice skeptical," the NYT reports, based on comments by a former C.I.A. official who had extensive experience in Pakistan and Afghanistan. "The Pakistani Army is designed, trained and equipped to fight India in Kashmir and deter New Dehli with nuclear weapons. That requires a dramatically different kind of strategy from what is needed in the tribal areas, whose leaders do not consider themselves part of Pakistan," the paper adds quoting the former official and others. Doubts still persist within the administration about whether Musharraf retains the capability to deal firmly with these extremist elements, which is why the United States is rushing to supply him with more money and weapons. As the NYT report says the western mountains of Pakistan have been the hatching grounds for some of Al Qaeda's deadliest plots, such as 7/7 in 2005 and the thwarted plot to blow up multiple trans-Atlantic commercial jets last August. It says that the options facing Bush are at least as unpalatable as those that confronted President Clinton between 1992 and 2000. The options include initiating aggressive campaigns of deniable covert action in Pakistan to capture or kill Qaeda operatives, and pray that American Special Forces or C.I.A. officers don't get caught. Another would be to carry out air strikes against known terrorist compounds in the tribal areas. A third would involve carrying out a large-scale ground offensive across the border from Afghanistan to capture and, or, eliminate Qaeda and Taliban remnants, and lastly, but the least likely, to send thousands of heavily armed American soldiers on a cave-to-cave search of North Waziristan with the objective of effectively dismantling the Al Qaeda's Pakistan base of operations. Though unilateral air strikes are an option, military and intelligence officials say that such strikes must be precise and accurate, because an opportunity for another might not exist. Intelligence officials also acknowledge that after each attack, the terror groups tap a deep bench and elevate another operative to a more lofty position. When asked how the United States would respond if the Al Qaeda were to plot a successful attack on the United States from the tribal areas, the answer given is: "We'd go in and flatten it."
  13. No it was other way around I believe. It was a website created against Sikhism (www.sikhs2islam.tk then www.sikhs2islam.com) only then did someone make a counter (www.muslim2sikh.tk) which I check and is temporarly offline probably was taken off by .tk team when extremist muslims complained. So I would suggest if you guys want anti-sikh propaganda websites taken off to that you also write to abuse@dot.tk and tell them what the sites url is and reasons why its causing offence. I believe one person is having a personal vendetta against Sikhs it is a pakistani muslim guy probably from uk whose sister probably ran off with a Sikh guy, Waheguru only knows what his reasons are but he has seen Sikhs are now willing expose islam for what it is without mercy or political correstness bs.
  14. If you want that website gone within a week send an email to abuse@dot.tk or copyright@dot.tk and outline what is objectionable and offensive about the website.
  15. look at the universe how can their not be a God. Don't be silly either your not a Sikh in the first place or you havent read the Scriptures and just had your kesh, etc for the sake of it. Do some research and you will come to see that all this we see around us is intelligent design from a supreme being. The question should be not if there is a God or not BUT what form or concept of God you believe in. Sikhism believes in a spiritual God not a physical one that resides in clouds in heaven sitting on throne controlling things. We all as humans, as living beings, are vessals that carry the soul, the spirit that is of our one God.
  16. The issue isnt forced conversion! Its grooming vunerable non-muslim girls at educational establishments to convert also, having a covert hidden agenda in order brainwash the emtionally weak girls into changing reilgion and for-saking their families. No other religion I know has these devious methods embedded within their people. Only islam with its dark globalist agenda wants to play the numbers game and make sure that ideology is dominant.
  17. Its not right to hate on ALL muslims, what you can justify is hate the ideology (islam) that perverted twisted hateful ideology that makes people from birth to grave want to treat other human beings (non-muslims and women) with such contempt. The root of islam, its very heart is dark and cancerous. We know this when we read some of their 7th century scriptures that muslims use to justify their conduct.
  18. Whats gurdwara commitee's need to do is provide central awareness of tactics and motives of muslim males by refering to islamic scrpitures that justify what they do. Grooming for conversion by islamics is done convertly, so to highlight the dangers in an awareness campagin would be helpful. Who are these Sikh leaders, who have the power and money to fund awareness campagins? While they sitting on their lazy backsides their daughters, nieces, etc are being groomed in schools, colleges and uni's or on social networking sites (hi5, myspace, ratedesi, etc).
  19. Correction ... they saying no evidence as of yet of forced conversions. Very important to use language clearfully. BTW the guy timothy claiming to represent Sikhs underground was a total prat presenting no evidence and making the forced conversions claims look laughable.
  20. I agree. If a guy sleeps around and wants to marry a pure virgin girl then how would she feel knowing he's slept around with God knows how many girls now coming to her for marriage. In similar light if a girl could not remain virgin for marriage then she should not look for a guy who is virgin as I gurantee guys will resent the fact their woman their wife to be has slept with another guy already. Its 10 times worse if she slept with a non-sikh guy, as she shows no loyality towards Sikh men and faith.
  21. I hope theres vigilante action taken as it seems the authorites wont take action.
  22. Depends what kind of Sikh girl you want. If you go for the liberal sort who is only Sikh by name then you will get lower quality girl the scummy type. If you go for GurSikh girl who is pure in mind, body and spirit then they wont want anything less than a turbanned GurSikh guy.
  23. No muslim fundamentalist is a brother of Sikhs, they are snakes who see non-muslims with contempt and haterd as "kafirs". We should see them in similar light and treat them accordingly. Our mission should be to destory these people's twisted ideology, like they try to do with others, we should not be seeing these snakes as brothers.
  24. This is the weakness within their sikhi in punjab. Anger is one of the main sin's and look at the fools... they really do need to learn the basic's. No wonder when people say im better of being a sahejdhari Sikhs when most keshdhari or khalsa Sikh dont act in the true spirit of Sikhism these days.
  25. hmmm cant see any story there, says unavailable. But heres an opposite story of a birtish muslim girl running offf to india to marry a hindu guy after falling in love over the internet. http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article...#39;/article.do
