Race is realty I'm afraid. It's not up for debate, it's an unchanging thing. We don't have to treat people badly just because of the caste they were born in; but that doesn't mean we should all mix together and end up like what? End up like Brazil? A supposed "post-racial" society in which the caste system continues in another form. This isn't about superior/inferior dichtonomies but about whether the envisioned model of society actually works.

Our religion is growing at a good pace, perhaps it could grow a bit quicker but it's not the most endangered religion. I think of this less about caste than about genetics. There is no "Indian" race, there is about 3 different races in India with different tradtions and customs. Sikhs are in fact considered an ethnoreligious group, because the overwhelming number of Sikhs are Punjabi Indo-Aryans. Preserve does not mean endangered. I use the word, perserve, the same way you would preserve a garden. It simply means to maintain something.

I'm honestly gobsmacked that a Guduwara would allow a Sikh girl and a Muslim boy to get married there. Have they lost their collective minds! There was a story about a Sikh woman who converted to Christianity and then married a Muslims, guess what? She got killed. I oppose any sort of apartheid treatment between the castes. However I do feel there shouldn't be intermarriage between the castes. I just feel we have to have a certain respect and continuation of our unique lineages, that is all.

I agree with a lot of what people are saying here. Even a little with DalSingh100 who I generally disagree with. Farming in the old days used to provide wealth but these days, farmers are the ones getting exploited. I do know our history and how the English basically ruined the once great Sikh Empire, but let's not for one second pretend that the Muslims were much better.
