  1. an Amritdhari Singh once said to me its pure fanaticism to check every item of food to see if its got egg, gelatine etc...... & u knw something....... for a while i agreed with him BUT i now realise, it shows the amount of pyaar one has...& yeh, wots wrong with alittle fanaticism when it comes to following the path laid down by the TRUE GURU! so Sher Panjabi bhaji...good one :TH:

  5. the camp as a whole gets a thumbs up from me :TH: Amritvela and Sadh sangat was amazing and were def the best part of the camp. My convo with Bhai Balpreet Singh (Tapoban Singh) was really inspiring... i defo need to sort my life out One suggestion, many at the camp (like myself) are not AKJ so if there could be some speakers from all jathebandi's.... i feel it'll bring more ekta oh yeh.. the kirtan was sooo wicked

  7. for someone who doesn't have a good vocabulary of punjabi.... what does gatre mean.... i assumed its like the gatra in which you place a kirpan "uthey subna paye gatre"...... everyones righteousness is this the correct pronounciation ie word for word from reading the whole transation by Kandola i get what the songs about and there ain't nothing offensive about it but im not sure if the above translation is the compltely correct word for word , it may be a summary of the line when i heard the song to verify what S1NGH was saying, i quite liked the song but iv got such a stubborn mind that until i know for def what that line means, i won't beable to listen to the song uthey subna paye ...... "over there everyone wears ........ (gatre)" so Kandola ji or anyone.... could you complete the sentence :TH:
  8. Khushwant Singh said "What would Gandhi have done under the circumstances? I didn't subscribe to his fads-prohibition, celibacy, no doctors-but generally he was always right. He meant more to me than any of my panth, my gurus." So Mohandass Ghandhi meant more to him than the Guru's, well he's definately entitled to his opinion & that may be the case for him.
  9. protect the cow being Rehat????? Kandola neither do i worship cows, neither do i need to protect ONLY cows Sikhs protect all animals not just cows, cows don't hold any more importance than any other animal If you talk about animals and sikhi.. a horse or a baaj come to mind, and NOT cows, i don't know what Saakhi you been reading We ain't Hindu's m8 u aint been watchin mahabharat hav you
  10. if a family doesn't consume meat or Alcohol at all but they have an Akhand Paath Sahib at home... once the langar is served & Maharaaj's Saroop is taken back to the Gurdwara, they have a Party with no meat/alcohol in a tent in the garden, is this wrong I wouldn't personally do this, even if Maharaaj's saroop is not present...but many do So Cyber Sangat, would you say this is ok to do?
  11. Doesn't matter if the Congress has put pressure on Tytler so he has HAD to resign Mahmohan should never have allowed him to be a minister in the first place Mahmohan is the one who truly let down Sikhs Atleast Manmohan has shown his true colours
  12. Finally Its about time the SGPC did something right for once
  13. I personally thought the debate was good and gave views of both perspectives. To my astonishment i just couldn't believe how little 'satkar' some people have our Guru Ji. They really don't care if Guru ji is taken to halls. But one thing is for sure, leaving all the negative points aside.... that some valid points were made and the Singhs should definately take them on board.... the main being if the Singhs/Singhni's are going to stop this biadbi, no-one should be having a laugh and joking about.. Anyone, whether they cut their hair or not should be welcome but not to have a day out... when this seva is being done, the point is to educate others so everyone can prevent this from happening any further...if people are laughing and joking no-one is going to be educated about this serious issuse, people will only turn against you, so for all the people who were only doing simran :TH: Anywhoooo well done R4G :TH:
  14. is this true? someone please show proof if is true!
  15. i once had a conversation with some members of the Al Muhjaroon (well one of the groups anyway) they kept goin on about how i had to convert to islam and that otherwise im gonna burn in hell. anyway i asked him, your so against idol worship (he believed it is a satanic ritual) so why do you bow your head to a black stone in mecca (i mean no offence by referin to it as a black stone) i said is this not idol worship he reply "but this stone is from heaven, its different" he said you bow to a book, thats idol worship too, i said i don't bow to the book i only to the divine knowledge enshrined in the Guru Granth Sahib, i only bow to the word. i said the book is not the Guru but the word (Shabd) is .................................................................................................. but can i say one thing before we start challenging other religions hypocricies, we need to look at our OWN. By could Guru ji challenge hypocrocies & i mean hypocricies (not the religion) because they had naam in them. No matter how much we debate others they won't listen nor do we have the authority cuz we aint got any Naam, so we will only do it out of EGO
  16. Guru Gobind Singh Ji's name ,GOBIND actually means God i dunno if its right to have Waheguru as a name but think about all the people who have to call that person n at the same time they are japping naam jus some food for thought, any word from Gurbani is pure dnt forget Satnaam is of great importance in Sikhi, its the second word in Gurbani but many people have the name Satnaam or any other names from Gurbani
  17. i believe Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj went all around to highlight hypocrycies within communites. So, what better way to get Guru Ji's message across than to go to the centre of a faith and educate their leaders. we will never know exactly what happened during the trip to the middle east but I firmly believe that Guru Ji impacted on Islam big time, for the better. we'll never know to what extent but i don't need to know i just know, i have faith in Guru Ji.
  18. Adding to Bikramjit Singh's comment, i think 'Question Time' is another programme that is watched by many. Imagine an articulate Singh/Singhnee asking the panel (full of MPs) questions live!
