  1. Despite that three was already video cameras, he didn't want to show himself too much because his emphasis was on the Nanaksar sect,( they claim that they were formed by Bhai Daya Singh) as Bhai Nand Singh had wanted true humility he didn't really want pictures of himself either, but somehow, they were taken. No such recording of Baba Nand Singh and Sant Sujan Singh; however, Sant Sujan Singh has a video of his own kirtan.
  2. There are certain locations where Amrit can be Chackna. Like for example, you can't take Amrit from the Harmandir Sahib building, but you can from the Akal Takht. You can't take Amrit from certain local Gurdwaras(they usually have a location where they all agree to have an Amrit Sanchar), you can take Amrit anywhere from any Jatha, any Punj Pyare. The number isn't recorded because not everyone signs their name.
  3. The thing is even if they learn Gurmukhi they still won't understand what they're saying(like most Akhand Paht people do) so I would suggest start with English, but say the transliteration aloud. Later on learn Gurmukhi
  4. you have to know that their are other planets and we don't know what life forms must've died their, also some species on earth are becoming extinct, so where do you get more souls(more people are blessed with human birth, but not more availability of souls), it's a very long process. Their are actually less "independent and separate souls" than their was 10 years ago.
  5. We actually encourage people to join our religion, and would appreciate to assist them with Community and getting to know their journey. My ancestors converted to Sikhi just before independence of India. There are Sikhs of all colors now and nationalities. I personally don't like 3HO, but normally if yoga is their thing, it their thing(I don't like creating divisions). Ultimately, it is hard to convert to Sikhi because you have to deal with family, society, and friends: we want to make the process as simple as possible.
  6. Hello, I wanted to ask how exactly does Nitnem change you? I used to feel something when I did paht, but now I don't feel like I have that experience anymore, I'm feeling discouraged.
  7. The movie is about the 2 Shaheeds life before and after killing Indria Gandhi, mostly focusing on Satwant Singh later in the movie and Beant Singh in the beginning. The movie starts off with some Sikh history, (I'll probably stop there so I don't spoil all of it for you), but http://www.panthic.org/articles/2865 this article explains the message of the movie and even if you do read it, it won't spoil the movie. I recommend anyone to watch it, and try finding it if they can.
  8. Yes, and every living thing ever has a soul.
  9. The Badal family is a disgrace to all Sikhs, they get siropa of Harmandir Sahib, the Jewel of communitty Award, the whatever else. The entire Badal clan is really a disgrace, I can't believe that they would actually want to put a huge stain on our turban and make the Panth look really bad to Non-Sikhs, same with KPS Gill. All these people dress-up like Sikhs which makes it ever more harder to get the world to realize the genocide. They would ask, "genocide? What genocide, he's a Sikh?" And we respond by saying"No". This is all just a big set-up. The Badal family is a disgrace to all Sikhs, they get siropa of Harmandir Sahib, the Jewel of communitty Award, the whatever else. 10. I personally would feel it's ok to date, if you are mentally stable and can continue remembering Waheguru while your dating(not really possible), cause you know Waheguru would totally be fine with you looking at what he created in the wrong way(Sarcasm), Guru Gobind Singh was only joking when he said to view all women the same and a women should see all men the same.(Some "liberal Sikhs" said this not me), Dating if only for knowing each other is ok, instead of dating the people should have courtships.
  11. I heard in one katha, that Waheguru when he(derogatory term) created Khand Di Batta Di Amrit in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh Ji said that this was the not the only way; however, only through the Khalsa can one attain Mukti today, (the reason being is Guru Panth is Khalsa) even big saints said that like Baba Nand Singh, and Harmam Singh. Amrit was also called the thing that ends all your sins from previous lives and this life will be your last life, according to Taksal Maryada(the oldest jatha in Sikhi), Bhai Randhir Singh also stated the same thing. It's a very universally accepted philosophy by the MahaPurakhs in modern era after 1699 that you can't reach Vaheguru(or Waheguru) without Amrit because the only reason not to take Amrit is Haumai.
  12. I think we should go back to the old ages when only Amritdharis could marry at a Gurdwara and all the rest marry somewhere, by some other rites because Anand Karaj is you trying to follow the Guru and he's the center, you can slowly progress into Sikhi but don't get married in a Gurdwara if you can't live and die for Sikhi(Simple as that).
  13. that one section you watched on YouTube isn't really that good because the guy recording it failed to make it clear, when you actually watch the movie it's actually very emotional and powerful, I saw it.
  14. Do we only do Parchar when we feel romantically inclined to, what would our Gurus say"Spread Sikhi only so you can have your special romance" (I never heard of such a line in any Sakhi or Gurbani, where do you guys see that?) we should have more of "Basics Of Sikhi" approach for teaching Sikhi to humanity. If you guys have any advice on this please tell me.
  15. That isn't exactly true, Amritdharis are usually people who previously did do wrong things(usually), most Amritdharis used to be Mona, drug-takers, or something else but Guru sahib still blessed them to find Sikhi. I almost feel sad that our youth already worry more about impressing women rather than the Guru, where did our high status as Khalsa become so attached to women?
  16. The Sikhs best the Afghans, mostly due to the power of Amrit, but still Sikhs won.
  17. http://www.adelaidesangat.com/index.php/downloads/Gurbani-PDF/Sri-Dasam-Granth-Sahib/ you can download them from here.
  18. I was asking this question because I heard of a great sant named Bhai Manj who after becoming a Sikh suffered through a lot of problems, but still kept his Sikhi as part of him, Guru Arjun Dev Ji warned Bhai Manj of following this path but he still followed the Guru. Next Bhai Manj falls into a pit, and his(Guru Arjun Dev Ji) Hukam was that the wood not fall, Bhai Manj kept the wood high, and when he was rescued Guru Arjun Dev Ji asked what has being Sikh given you and Bhai Manj replied that he had received the gift of NAAM through the GURU. So this Sakhi goes to prove something very important that modern Sikhs are diluted to hear"All religions aren't equal" if you have something to add, please do.
  19. I feel like we have greater issues in our Panth; such as there are some false teachings of truth, some people today in the Sikh Panth think that interfaith marriages are ok! I have more feeling of disappointment for them than this Gay-Sikh because being homosexual is something you are born with; these people who feel like Sikhi is not valuable may go out with other Dharma; before we do any more debates can we at least say that today Gurdwara Commitees want money, power, and respect more than anything else, they will do any Andaj Kiraj for cash; these debates are useless unless we get Panj Pyare to rule Gurdwaras over Commitees then we are going somewhere
  20. All the people who had tweeted in that message are Sehajdhari, we never needed them in the first place, I want to learn if they can become useful; if they are this low then I have no interest in teaching them anything; if they learned to at least keep Kesh maybe I would try to teach these garbage-equals
  21. I believe that if we want to become Gursikhs than we should start out as not viewing people as Kesh-Cuters any less than those who keep Kesh, One the original Panj Pyare used to be a barber, and also Bhagat Sain, Kesh could make you more holy, however to be enlightened it takes more than just keeping Kesh, everyone who ever converted to Sikhi used to cut their hairs, and if we actually taught the Sehajdhari today maybe they will change as well. Guru Ji did ask as to keep Kesh, I understand that fact completely; keeping Kesh can only be done if someone knows why they are doing it.{Bhagat Singh kept his Kesh after meeting Bhai Rahinder Singh, Bhagat Singh stated that he only kept his Kesh in the first place was because of his family traditions, prior to meeting Bhai Ji he kept his Kesh.} So we should at least give them a chance maybe they'll change, I used to be Sehajdhari because I didn't like to follow blind faith; but learning more about Sikhi and Bhai Taru Singh I have kept my Kesh; even once I kept my Kesh I feel like there is still so much to learn, maybe Waheguru just brings people to the truth at the right time. However, if you want to truly follow Sikhi and follow your Guru, and continue mediation, if you understand why we keep Kesh you probably should do it
