  2. :TH: Vaheguru... Hopefuly, maharaj will do kirpa on me one day
  3. Heres an e-mail already made up that you can send to friends and family... SUBJECT _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ All Individuals who value justice and human rights values MESSAGE _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ The Right to Self-Determination is enshrined in the UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights. Further, articles 18 & 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights-1948 provide for the right for free speech. Article 19 states:- "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas, through any media..." This right is also provided under article 19 of the Indian Constitution. HOWEVER... "Simranjit Singh Mann was arrested for sedition with other senior Dal Khalsa leaders for delivering a speech in which he and ten others made demands for a Khalistan buffer state between India and Pakistan." "The Amnesty International Secretariat are expected to make a public announcement calling for Amnesty to be given immediate access to Panjab to investigate, which they have been denied since 1978." EVEN THOUGH... The Supreme Court of India, when quashing a conviction in Balwant Singh vs State of Punjab (1995) held that ‘the mere asking for Khalistan’ is not an offence. MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD... An online petition has been set up and will be presented on 13th July 2005 and your participation is essential to ensure that all Sikh Political Leaders that have arrested and denied bail are set free and avoid the lifetime imprisonment charge they may incure. http://www.petitiononline.com/petvff6/petition-sign.html
  4. I have just heard that the protest has been cancelled. Please confirm with official sevadar though.
  5. Just shows how bad this sama of Kaljug is. Never know when your time is gonna come. Better get japping.
  6. Went to see baba ji last night as he was staying somewhere local to us. It was a little tense in the sangat as there was a few committee members from a local gurdwara asking if baba ji would come but he rejected this idea as they had chairs. They were also a few singh there who always eat in pangat and have wanted the tables/chairs removed for a long time. This was a good line the committe member dropped 'the committee all agree to pick up the chairs but its the sangat who dont agree'. Anyway, baba ji explained that it was a hukam from the akal takht, supreme court and cannot be disobeyed and that if the gurdwara will not listen to the hukam of sri akal takht then why would they listen to a sant who goes there. Guru Ji started the pangat and so who are we to use chairs as its 'modern', who are we to overide or change this tradation? Main point - Pangat and Sangat :TH:
  7. I think the main objective is to become paka in your own religion. There was a case in Nottingham where a young muslim girl approached one of the Gurdwara's saying she wanted to convert. The Gurdwara, confused spoke to Sikh Community & Youth Service (SCYS) where a great sevadar actually spoke to this girl extensively and actually taught her more about her own religion over quite a period of time rather than trying to convert. I Think she actually stayed a muslim. However, if someone wants to convert to Sikhism i think there is no problem with that but remember that all paths lead to the same place. Courtesy of www.sikhitothemax.com By the way Taz, your websites doesnt seem to be working properly on my work PC here (did you check out that link i e-mailed you btw) The other extract i was gonna put in was Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale which goes something like this... A Sikh should become a proper Sikh, A Hindu should become a proper hindu, a Muslim should become a proper muslim.
  8. When i do have a dream i'm normally am a bit confused when i wake up as i can only remember bits
  9. The other thing was he NEVER asked for money once and mentioned how the sevadar going round with buckets was down to the committee, not him. He must seriously have done a lot of kamai in his prevoius life to have such kirpa on him at such a young age. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bhul ChuK Maaf Karna
  10. I went to the Leicester program yesterday and all I can say is :TH: There was not one thing Sant Ranjeet Singh Ji mentioned that I disagreed with. He spoke about the importance of Rehat and the 5k's and Ekta/Unity. Also spoke about Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji being taken to pubs and clubs etc. He told the story about the Battle of Chamkaur and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. When the hukam came from the khalsa for Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji to leave and go to safety, he went throught the jungles towards a Singh's House named Pooran Singh who had asked Guru Ji to come to his house various times prevoiusly. When Guru Ji got there at amrit vela, this Singh was still asleep. Anyway, Pooran Singh told Guru Ji to go away and that he did not need to see him as he knew the Moghuls would be looking for him. He said someone to takes Sri Guru Granth Sahib to such places is no worse than Pooran Singh who turned away Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Such a paap would take many janam to work off. I also felt really bad as he was mentioning about people saying that he was in it for the money. He told of how popular his parchaar is in India and that he was worried that people may start doubting his parchaar in India if such stupid accusations are made and hence was considering heading back to India early. He only told people to follow the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, keep a good rehat, take amrit and do path/simran. We need more people doing great parchaar like this so lets not tarnish his character. I'll hopefuly be in Derby for his program on Wednesday too _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna
  11. It was said by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji that... "Dharma (righteousness) cannot flourish without Raj (sovereignty), Without Dharma nothing is of any value." For example, France have already passed that turbans cannot be tied in schools etc and there is no real political leader with authority that seems to be doing anything about it. What if that was adpoted in the UK and USA? We need to have a politcal presence as well. Hence, Sri Harmindar Sahib alongside the Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Miri and Piri. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna
  12. It is in Sikhi however that you should not eat anything before Jap Ji Sahib/ Nitnem in the morning. Doing this shows that you have renounced everything and made worship of Vaheguru your main action. Obviously this will take time...
  13. Some people think its not right to disrupt someone's special day - the wedding but you have got to think that if Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji was here today, would taking Maharaj Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to a hall be allowed, would you step back and leave it? This shouldnt be allowed and should be stopped by any means neccessary.

  15. I respect Untitled Singh 100% I think you going vegan is great and shows compassion. Don't listen to those who say going vegan is pointless. I'm a vegetarian but you being vegan shows more dicipline to me and Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji once said something along the lines of... A Sikh is not Important to me, his rehaat (dicipline) is. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna
  16. BOSS Sikhi Camp should be good. Got my name down for the first time, evryone i know who's been has loved it... http://www.sikhicamp.org/ Deadline for signing up is 1st July 2005.
  17. No offence intended but lets put it in a scenerio... If i were to come and ask if it was ok for me to try your sister out for a while, she if she was ok, Would you agree? Thats essentialy what dating is. I for one would never let my sister do such a thing and I myself would never do such a thing. Whats wrong with the traditional relaxed arranged marriages? Some are lovers of beautiful young women; emotional attachment to Maya is very dear to them. The unfortunate self-willed manmukhs remain asleep. O Nanak, those who intuitively serve their Guru, have perfect destiny. ||4||3|| (Sri Guru Granth Shaib Ji - Raag Vadhans on Pannaa 569) The full Shabad can be seen Here. 21. I totally understand where you are coming from about selling it on ebay. Awkward one this as to right or wrong... By the way, isn't it selling Gurbani for a profit that is against the rehat. You can sell it to cover expenses. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Bhull Chuk Maaf Karna
  22. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale did give India the chance to sort it out without a seperation of India... "We are in favour of unity if it does not result in Sikhs being treated as second class citizens" Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bindranwale This didn't happen. He also said... "If the Indian goverment attacks the Golden Temple, it will lay the foundation stone of Khalistan" Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale This came true in 1984 as the Harimandar Sahib Complex was stormed. "Dharma (rightouesness) cannot flourish without Raaj (soveriegnty), Without Dharma nothing is of any value."
