  1. Maybe they were planning to attack someone else and because they got caught they kept quiet. And ‘terrorists’ in the UK don’t target such relatively small places like West Bromwich . They have ‘previous as we know from one example last year. They don’t seem very competent or maybe a little lazy that they say “We still don't know why the attack occurred, we may never know the answer to that“
  2. They had an incident in 2019 also where they were fined. ‘Jeeta’ the presenter involved in current incident is one of the main men of the channel, and the CEO (but I think, not owner) not sure it will be as simple as you have suggested KTV is from what I have seen, the most ‘Panthic’ oriented of the 4 Sikh channels (until Politics Punjab as the fifth channel started up around 6 months ago) and , I think Jeeta’s family were affected by killing of innocents in the 80’s/90’s.

"One of the men ran towards me screaming brandishing something and swinging around erratically," said PC Willetts. "They continued to run towards us screaming. I could see Leon getting chased so I started heading towards him but then I suddenly felt a massive sharp pain in the back of my head and my helmet went flying on to the floor," he added. PC Mittoo suffered a slash wound to his forehead and hand, as well as cuts and scratches. IMAGE SOURCE, WEST MIDLANDS POLICE Image caption, The brothers were found to be carrying a significant amount of weapons, police said The brothers were found in possession of rucksacks containing a "significant stash" of weapons, including a machete, an imitation gun, balaclavas and large quantities of cash, said West Midlands Police. All motives were considered but no evidence was found linking the brothers to terrorism, the force added. Chief Supt Ian Green said: "We still don't know why the attack occurred, we may never know the answer to that, what I do know is that our officers saved people's lives that day." Both men, of Frank Road, Smethwick, were found guilty of wounding with intent and possession of an imitation firearm. They had previously admitted possessing offensive weapons.

She said: 'My husband is happy and healthy and I'm looking after him. We don't want his past life all dredged up again on TV and in newspapers. 'I know what he did, he knows, and he paid penalty for that, he doesn't need to be reminded.' Darwin, 71, has made a new life in the Philippines with mother-of-three Mercy, who is 23 years his junior, after his release from prison over his £679,000 life insurance scam (inset, Darwin with his first wife Anne). MailOnline tracked the couple down to Mercy's hometown in Antipolo, an hour's drive from the capital, where they own a £30,000 three-storey house with grilled windows in the relatively affluent gated community of Louiseville. Mercy blasted the new TV series 'The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe', which starts this month. She is angry that the ITV drama, starring Eddie Marsan and Monica Dolan (pictured inset top), chronicling Darwin's great deception, will once again put her husband under the spotlight.

Either drugs or something else https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/jalandhar/international-kabaddi-player-wanted-to-free-game-from-drugs-silenced-7825389/ ‘International Kabaddi player wanted to free game from drugs, silenced’ It is learnt that because of this credibility enjoyed by Sandeep’s league his teams were over-booked for the season Written by Anju Agnihotri Chaba | Jalandhar | Updated: March 18, 2022 9:29:21 am Three days after the sensational murder of international kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambian (38), there has still been no headway in the probe, but players and officials of the kabaddi federations have started pointing towards alleged involvement of drug mafia in the crime. Taking about how Nangal’s demise, many players, who did not wish to be named, said that this was a blow to efforts to free the game from drugs. “He was killed to suppress the voice of truth in the kabaddi world. He used to say that there is no place for any kind drugs in kabaddi as it is a game that it played to keep youth away from drugs,” said NRI Balwinder Singh, a senior official in the England Kabaddi Federation and associated with the game for the past over two decades. https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/ex-conservative-organizer-accused-of-ordering-murder-of-indian-athlete-over-sports-league-dispute Ex-Conservative organizer accused of ordering murder of Indian athlete over sports-league dispute According to startling police allegations, Snover Dhillon wanted to eliminate Sandeep Nangal Ambia because of competition for players between the Kabaddi leagues they ran Author of the article: Tom Blackwell Publishing date: Mar 30, 2022 • 2 days ago • 4 minute read As a back-room organizer in the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party, Snover Dhillon was a lightning rod for controversy Already convicted of fraud for unrelated matters, he was accused in the run-up to the last provincial election of crossing ethical lines in his work helping would-be Conservative candidates win nominations. The party’s new leadership made it a priority to clean up questionable practices that had plagued the nomination process, even cancelling some riding candidate elections. Now Dhillon’s name has come back to the fore in even more dramatic fashion, as police in India accuse him of ordering the murder of a prominent player in the ancient and popular Indian sport of Kabaddi. According to startling, but unproven, allegations filed by Punjab Police, Dhillon wanted to eliminate Sandeep Nangal Ambia because of competition for players between the Kabaddi leagues they ran.
  8. “Sikh community are shocked” at OfCom TV channel removal based on “three complaints” April 1, 2022/in News / Several Sikh orgs have spoken about community shock after UK based Sikh television channel KTV Global was removed from broadcast for promoting a “pro-Khalistan cause” which has been viewed as supporting “terrorism”. The decision was made by UK TV regulatory body Ofcom yesterday (31st March) after an alleged investigation found a KTV live discussion show on 30th December 2021 was in breach of broadcasting Rule 3.1 of their Broadcasting Code (Incitement to Crime and Disorder). KTV released a statement claiming the allegations and decision to remove the channel were “scrutinised without context or cultural understanding”, whilst also emphasising their intention to appeal the decision. KTV, which is considered popular among British Sikhs aged 50+, have also highlighted how their elderly viewership will be left without support for their “spiritual needs” due to the removal. KTV broadcast the Sikh nitnem (daily prayers) which many viewers will play and follow at home as part of their spiritual meditation/prayer routine. The 33 page Ofcom report (with a further 50 pages of transcript) on the decision stated they received just three complaints about the Prime Time live discussion show which led to the decision to remove the entire channel. However, the regulatory body have been open about their view that the support for and discussion around Khalistan (a movement for a free Sikh homeland in India) on the show was equivalent to supporting “violent action” terrorism. The content objected to was largely speech from popular presenter Jagjit Singh Jeeta on Khalistan over the course of the 95minute broadcast. 9. I knew they had been fined for something, but was surprised this morning to switch on Sky TV Channel 771, and it was not there ! They present very informative shows on Sikh community and what is going on in Panjab https://www.ofcom.org.uk/news-centre/2022/ktv-licence-suspended Ofcom suspends KTV’s licence following serious breach of broadcasting rules TV and on-demand News Ofcom has today suspended Khalsa Television Limited’s licence (PDF, 279.9 KB) to broadcast after an investigation found the KTV channel in breach of broadcasting rules (PDF, 695.9 KB). The KTV television channel broadcasts to the Sikh community in the United Kingdom. Our investigation found that Prime Time, a 95-minute live discussion programme, included material likely to incite violence. The presenter of the programme made a number of statements throughout the programme which, taken together, promoted violent action, including murder, as an acceptable and necessary form of action to further the Khalistani cause. This was a serious breach of our rules on incitement of crime and disorder. Given the serious nature of this breach, and for the reasons set out in our suspension notice, we are today suspending Khalsa Television Limited’s licence to broadcast in the UK with immediate effect. Khalsa Television Limited now has 21 days in which to make representations to Ofcom. Following this process, we will decide whether to revoke Khalsa Television Limited’s licence.
  10. https://unherd.com/2021/04/swedens-migrant-rape-crisis/ Sweden’s migrant rape crisis European liberals never ask uncomfortable questions about immigration BY AYAAN HIRSI ALI When carrying out research for my new book Prey, I was constantly frustrated by the lack of reliable data on almost every aspect of the problematic relationship between mass migration and sexual violence. Statistics were either a tangle of changing definitions of “sexual assault” or — in the case of a number of countries, including Sweden — they weren’t available at all. That has now changed thanks to the work of the social scientists Ardavan Khoshnood, Henrik Ohlsson, Jan Sundquist and Kristina Sundquist. In a recent issue of the journal Forensic Sciences Research, they published a paper on “Swedish rape offenders”, in which they analyse the characteristics of individuals between 15-60 years old who were convicted of “rape+” against women in Sweden between 2000 and 2015. The term “rape+” here refers to both acts of rape and attempted rape, including aggravated cases. The researchers found that, within that time-frame, a total of 3,039 offenders were convicted of rape+ against a woman in Sweden — nearly all of whom (99.7%) were men. According to the researchers, Swedish-born offenders with Swedish-born parents accounted for 40.8% of the offenders. But, strikingly, almost half of the offenders were born outside of Sweden (47.7%). Of those foreign-born offenders, 34.5% were from the Middle East/North Africa, with 19.1% hailing from the rest of Africa. As a percentage of all convicted perpetrators, therefore, 16.4% were foreign-born individuals from the Middle East/North Africa, and 9.1% were foreign-born individuals from Africa (excluding North Africa). How far does this signify over-representation? On the basis of population records kept by the official agency Statistics Sweden (SCB), approximately 20% (19.7%) of the Swedish population are foreign-born individuals. Among those convicted of rape and perpetrated rape, the foreign-born account for 47.7% of those convicted — so they are over-represented by a factor of 2.4. Moreover, if we piece various statistics together, we find there are 565,902 foreign-born people living in Sweden who were born in North Africa and the Middle East, representing 4.9% of Sweden’s population. Yet 16.4% of those convicted of rape and attempted rape are foreign-born individuals from North Africa and the Middle East: over-representation by a factor of 3.3. And that figure rises to 4.7 when you consider all foreign-born citizens from Africa (excluding North Africa.)
  11. I think it is grooming in most cases. The reason I say this, is that the girls are deliberately targeted and treated in such a way that the Paks would not treat a fellow Muslim 'Sister' . How many females from Sikh families over the age of say, 30 , voluntarily get into relationship with a Pak - very few I would think. Young people (I will use my own experience of life here) can vary in how quickly they mature, dependent on their 'street intelligence' and whatever they have been exposed to in life. I know that compared to say 15 years ago when I was at Uni, I am a lot aware of my surroundings. If I was a female, I think I could have been groomed relatively easily. I think what helped me growing up and onwards about being wary of Paks is all the Sakhian of our Gurus and Puratan Gursikhs and what they had to face from Muslims. That would be part of a 'prevention' strategy to reduce girls being groomed- ensure they are well aware of Sikh-Muslim history etc I’m linking an old thread which talks about grooming and girls’ attitudes.
  12. @kcmidlands I have heard that Leicester/shire has been increasingly thought as a desirable area for Sikhs who have emigrated from Europe and other parts of the UK. And there seem to be quite regular Gurdwara programs/events there advertised on TV and I saw recent Hola Mohalla event on TV and were lots of Rehitvaan young Sikhs I know of Sikhs in Birmingham who regularly go to one of the Gurdwaras there also
  13. Veer ji, you want him to break Rehit? What do you mean : ”When did we turn into Muslims.” ?

The main opposition leaders, Shahbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, asked Khan to resign before the vote since he had lost the majority, but as the political temperature is rising in Islamabad, the chances of him doing so are considered slim.… The vote of no confidence is expected to take place on Sunday or Monday, after a debate in parliament beginning on Thursday. economictimes.com/news/international/world-news/pakistan-pm-imran-khans-life-under-threat-claims-pti-stalwart/amp_articleshow/90554860.cms Pakistan PM Imran Khan's life under threat, claims PTI stalwart Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Faisal Vawda, while speaking to the local media, claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan's life is in danger as a conspiracy has been hatched to assassinate him. The victim was left with a painful laceration after his genitals were repeatedly yanked by his boyfriend, Luke Lal. The 32-year-old told how the 'throbbing' wound had to be glued at hospital following an assault at his former home in Alcester Road, Moseley. As an argument erupted over dinner plans, he also suffered three punches to his head.... "I came back from playing tennis, it was around 9pm, Luke and I had been texting about what to have for dinner. I told him that I was going to have veggie fingers as I was trying to cut down on junk food at the time," he recalled. "He suggested: 'Let's get pakoras'. When I returned home, he said he was going to the shop to collect food and when he came back he had bought pakoras. "I said that I didn't want to eat it. He started getting angry saying I'm not following what he wants to do, that I need to listen. "He punched me, then he pulled my pen.is five times. He did calm down and I said: 'I need to leave.'"
  16. Saviour is a Christian name - maybe he is half Christian or something ?! @shastarSinghJi, do you still think Panjabi industry is much 'cleaner' than Bollywood? I just saw this in an old post
  17. Bump Just did a quick google search and there is no update to this case that I can find. It's wrong and sad if Bullman is walking as a free man
  18. @proactive I think you, Misterrsingh and Dallysingh are three of the most knowledgeable and articulate posters on Sikhsangat. I am not so articulate. But I will try to say something anyway. You are closer than most of us to Panjab having been born and partially brought up there, and you visit most years, I think. You understand the ground reality there better than most of us (would be nice if @shastarSinghcould also please comment). With falling percentage of Panjab's population being Sikh and increasing numbers leaving to go abroad, and most of Panjab's history post-partition being governed by Congress Party and now AAP, what in summary, makes you confident and about the future of Sikhs in Panjab? My observation of both my own relatives and what I see in the media, is that Sikhs in Panjab for the large part are barely practising Sikhs. In my idealistic world, I believe in quality over quantity. But as I think @SikhKoshsaid here or on SA, numbers count and 6 'sheep' will defeat 1 or 5 'lions' in a democracy. Sikh numbers even if the 'quality' is not 'high', need to increase as a percentage of the population. Either that means less non-Sikhs , or more Sikhs . To achieve that, many non-Sikhs in Panjab will need to revert/convert. Or non-Sikhs will need to leave Panjab (seems unlikely). The other way to increase Sikh numbers would be for Sikhs from other states or cities to come to Panjab, or for those like us in the West to go live there. Do you personally plan on returning to live in Panjab ? Do you think that for the situation to 'get better' it will 'get worse' under AAP to awaken the sleeping Sikhs ? Do you see there being more 'riots' (like the example you gave in the other thread about Gujjars) etc between Sikhs and non-Sikhs, as Sikhs increasingly feel marginalised in their home land ?
