  1. Recite nitnem at amritvela Then throughout they day recite the naam wheneva confrontation might occur or wheneva you need gods help. i speak from experience, it got me through my skool days, but when i got lazy and didnt do my nitnem my days usualy screwed up, but not so bad, kinda like a warning. a reminder to repeat the name of god to protect me.
  2. Allow the 3rd person style shootemip Have any1 of you lot played Rome-Total war, with armies legions and all. thats the kinda game style we need to teach sikh history, the battles, the territorial conquests, politics and creation of the khalsa raj from the tyrants
  3. Challenge these proffessors to bck up their so called claims with hard evidence. Refer to the GurBani (seeing as it is the "Divine Light that dispells the darkness") to challenge their silly lil claims. BTW do these so called professors have any knowlege of gurbani seeing as its the Guru. theyre critisizing sikhi, gurbani is essentialy sikhi itself. it would be quite stupid to critisize something that you have no 'First hand' knowledge of.
  4. the problem is the older generation. they didnt know much about sikhi and are far to worried about sticking to backwards punjabi culture, such marrige and association within tribal castes. what did the older generation teach the younger generation about sikhi? not much hence wer in the situation that wer in.
  5. how dare those ignorant punjabi fools. i meen they dont have any basic concept of sikih and they work in a gurdwara. I hope the guy understands the backwards mentality of some punjabi fools and i pray to god he dont take it 2 heart
  6. Go to this site http://www.sikh-history.com/sikhhist/events/index.html On the left hand site, open the box marked '18th century' select the 'lesser holocaust' The site has alot of info on other conflicts, operations, shaheed sakhas and personalities.
  7. never mind khalistanis, i dont think most sikhs beleive that either. o though chakar was to symbolize that god is infinite, without birth and death. i though the chand was worn for practical reason, to deflect sword strikes? need someone with great knowledge to partake in this convo.
  8. dont take this the wrong way people but maybe u guys need to spend more time reading sri guru grant sahib Why i wonder, we got people asking what would they ask guru sahib, what? is guru sahib dead or something? is Guru sahib Inaccessible to you?. sri Guru grant sahib is here in its complete form. if one takes time to read recite and understand guru sahib, most, if not all answers will come to you. Sri Guru Grant sahib states only very few people will become gursikhs, the divine light sri guru graqnt sahib maybe in your own home but that dosent meen one will fully understand it, those who have such pre ordained destiny will be lucky enough to become gursikh. sorry i cant give you quotes direct from guru sahib but im sure if you study guru sahib youll come across them.
  9. Yeah well what do you expect from these missionary type religions. unfortunatly they'r intent on increasing their population through whatever means.
  10. sri guru hargovind sahib. If thats true, what wasit before the 1920s??
  11. The reason sikhs should steer clear of partaking in any ritual wether its wearing of tilak or pilgrimiges is because it Might Delude us from the path to god. we shouldnt hate various rituals performed by some because thses practises came to be at the will of the almighty. God does things for the best of reasons. thats unquestionable. Am i making sense? someone correct me if im wrong thank you.
  12. Wasnt it during the early 90s Manmohan singh said to the UN (not sure) that ther were no human rights a abuses hapining in india, when killing of sikh youth was rife in punjab? some correct me if im wrong but if thats the case, so much for the 'sikh' president. someone who puts their job position before sikhi and sikh principles does not make a good sikh.
  13. performing of Any Ritual is againnt the sikh code of conduct, im sorry to say but i guess that renders your fiance to a non sikh realy. Vaheguru is the universal creator god, The one and only god of all religions, worlds, universes and nether regions call "it" what you may. to say waheguru is just our divine light is false. largley thanks to brahmanism, go to different parts of india and "hinduism" can be found in its many different forms, travel sometime and cseefor youself (that applies to every) 'something max arthur macauliffe said, though im sure many sikhs are familiar with his words by now. "Truly wonderful are the strength and vitality of Hinduism. It is like the boa constrictor of the Indian forests. When a petty enemy appears to worry it, it winds round its opponent, crushes it in its folds, and finally causes it to disappear in its capacious interior. In this way, many centuries ago, Hinduismon its own ground disposed of Buddhism which was largely a Hindu reformation; in thisway, in a pre-historic period, it absorbed the religion of the Scythian invaders of Northern India; in this way, it is disposing of the reformed and once hopeful religion of Baba Nanak. Hinduism has embraced Sikhism in its folds; the still comparatively young religion is making a vigorous struggle for life, but its ultimate destruction is, it is apprehended, inevitable without state support."
  14. I was stumpt on the first 1, but then i took my time on the rest n got them all right. sahej. take your time
  15. yep, it happend for a good reason too, if the singh sabha movement hadnt of tooken place, i think sikhi would be confined to history. But god has his ways for Re-awakining the panth, and its usualy in the fashion of disasters, ghalugharas and matyrdom. only then we return back to our guru and the veil of ignorance lifts.
  16. Id assume the panj pyare who know gurbani would probably be in favour of a democracry where everone has equal rights and a say in the country. A monarchy would be bad. I think the reason why khalsa raj fell because it was a kingdom, people like maharaja ranjit singh wher Not role model sikhs, he himself did alot of bad things. Under his kingdom sikhi was dying at the hands of hindu mahants. (correct me if im wrong) A democratic state of khalistan is what we need.
  17. How can i get in contact with nihang major singh ji? thanks
  18. I wouldnt go as far as to start calling some of the sangat anti- hindu but paranoide anti Indian. but then sangat has good reason to be. th lesson is to wait for the full story before assuming its totaly anti sikh. im disgusted to see police beating old men accross the head, reffering to that picture, but then i saw pictures of old men being beaten to the ground when the police enforced a curfew of sikhs in delhi 1984, before the government unleased the hired goons to loot and kill sikhs in their homes. anyways khalistaan zindabaad
  19. Im not tryna be cynicle but why do some nihangs go way over the top? i mean most people whove viewed the pictures seem to be rather impressed and shoutin out jakares (i not complaining), but if its done outa pride (my dumallas bigger and prettier than youres) isnt that a bit wrong???
  20. I personally believe in evolution, akaal purakh is infinite so are his qualities. evolution is just one of infinite ways akaal purakh creates, sustaines and destroyes life.
  21. I second that. The brave among the pure? i dont think they're that pure to begin with, i mean guru sahib goes against the consumption of intoxicants and meaningless rituals, one wonders why some or.. i dont know, the majority or nihangs dont acknowledge that. The author is ill educated, calling the event of the 20,000 massacred after Dusht Ghandis death an "uprising".Factualy incorrect, it was government organised pograms. And sant ji and the singhs in the temple in 1984 were Not sepratists.
  22. Gurdwaras need to teach youth gurbani, i dont c dat happening, why dont gurdwara teach gurbani????????????????
