I never knew there could be so much drama and politics involved with marriage! all people care about is what others think i mean we grew up not caring what others think about us keeping hair well it made me stronger BUT when it comes to marriage why do people start caring about what others think???

everybody has in their mind their own idea of their perfect partner but realise this that it is only in your mind becuase in the real world no one is perfect, so find someone who will help you advance in your own sikhi and both of you will be happy.

How does that affect you? Why can't your partner be fat ? veer everybody has their preferences and im sure you have your own too.........maybe he wants a partener who leads a healthy lifestyle etc ..........we shouldnt let parents dictate what type of person you should marry i mean you're going to spend the rest of your life with that person after all but also you shouldnt build up high expectations of your potential partner in your head otherwise you may never find anyone because no one is perfect. bhul chuk maaf

thank you JustME panji............you're always there to help me :lol: but what should you do when someone questions youre sikhi and sometimes i dont have the answers.....even though i may not know everything about sikhi nothing can shake my view in Vaheguru :nihungsmile:

who......cut their completely or just trim their beard.............because i have noticed that some sikhs insult, annoy or try to humiliate other sikhs who dont keep hair into keeping hair and i think this is very wrong........i know an amritdhari guy who is good but insulted anoth sikh guy who trims his beard..so i dont know forcing someone into keepin hair doesnt work neither does making fun of them i think. By the way somone goes to me that eating meat is bad so why do sikhs drink cows milk........and i was like because its not flesh but they were like it still contributes to the suffering of the cow and they go cows suffer when they are milked???? and eventually they are killed.......so that person goes to me buying milk contributes to the cows suffering.........what do you guys think? someone goes to me you dont eat meat but why do you drink cows milk and i said because it wasnt flesh and that person would accept that and saying sikhs drink milk saying i had double standards i.e. sikhi says dont eat meat but we drink cows milk when the milk was only intended for cows offspring............weird i know but there you go

this is my opinion but the thing is Grudwaras are being run by alot of people sometimes upto about 20 to 30 and when a decision has to be made that many people cannot agree on one thing so they bicker and argue and nothing ever gets done..........the sant gurdwaras are run by one person so decisions can be made quickly and those gurdwaras can adapt more quickly to the needs of sangat..........ive never been to a camp but somone told me sometimes upto 4 people are in charge and when a decision needs to be made about anything it takes time to reach one........the point of this post we need to ensure gurdwaras are run by one (sensible) person who can make quick decisions and can make the gurdwara adapt more quickly to the needs of the sangat.........

its hard for both men and women today to keep kesh etc but it does build immense character when you decide to keep hair because YOU want to not because your parents made you keep your hair..............women find it hard to keep hair because of media and peer pressure BUT men also find it difficult sometimes too due to the same reasons.......... sometimes people who do keep kesh forget how hard it was to keep kesh when they started keeping it..............i remember when i used to trim my beard i used make every excuse in the book to trim but then one day i stopped.........samething with others who are on the path to keeping kesh we shouldnt bash them but try to guide them becuase the last thing you want to do is keep kesh for other people i.e. family and not for your Guru. Bhul Chuk Maaf.

sitargirl is just talking about amritdharis who go to clubs and why? and so far no one has given a satisfactory answer because simply amritdharis dont belong in clubs anyway there are better ways to spread sikhi than going to a club lol.
