  1. No, you're not. This is amazing the depths that certain unknown entities are going to. Good catch.
  2. I agree with the others that he seems to be arrogant in saying that only he knows what Gurbani says, everybody else before him was all wrong. I don't know why he doesn't accept that Jaap Sahib isn't praise of God. How is it not praise?
  3. I don't know where you got this, but it's a jumble of bad stuff, acceptable stuff, and weird stuff. -I don't know what's wrong with not marrying a woman whose antecedents you don't know. -Without going into specific defects, it seems quite obvious that you don't want to marry someone with excessive defects, because the entire point of marriage is to produce healthy children. -Don't be alone with a woman? How is this bad? It's a really bad idea to be alone with a woman who isn't your wife (or your family).
  4. Agreed regarding various ways of interpretation. No, I realize that she straight translated Prof. Sahib Singh. But then she went on to give her thoughts, as you noted on Sikhawareness: So that's what I'm reacting to. Her calling her thoughts "A little deeper." So by extension, I can only surmise that she must think Prof. Sahib Singh's thoughts must be "A little shallower."
  5. OK, thanks. By the way, the Tribune article claims the sale was for 12 crore INR. But this one says it was 4000 GBP. 12 crore INR would be 1,358,872 GBP.
  6. Both. But how can you blame the Pope for following his religion? (Seeing as washing somebody's feet doesn't harm us, unlike, say, jihad.)
  7. Ever been to an Akhand Paath? The whole of Salok M: 9 before the end basically deals with death the fleeting nature of human life.
  8. Well, there is an actual Christian tradition of foot-washing, usually not followed. But do you fault the Pope because he bowed to Muslims or to anyone?
  9. So, do you think it would break a young Sikh's heart who's trying to find their way in life when their classmate or college roommate tells them that they are going to an everlasting hell just because they aren't a Christian?
  10. Is that Pope Francis? Who is he bowing to?
  11. ਜੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਮੈ ਜੋਬਨਵੰਤੁ ॥ ਸੋ ਹੋਵਤ ਬਿਸਟਾ ਕਾ ਜੰਤੁ ॥ One who deems himself to have the beauty of youth, Shall become a maggot in manure. Sukhmani Sahib, p278 You're not supposed to be proud of your body or beauty. That goes for both men and women.
  12. You've noted the answer right there, but have failed to understand it. For Guru Sahib, gold is the same as dirt. He was the same sitting on the throne and using a rock for a pillow in the Machiwara Jungle. Are you? Or me? No. The reason is we're prone to fall into wanting to impress the world by wearing gold, makeup, and such. So people starting on the path of spirituality are told to avoid that. If you don't want to go on the path of spirituality, what's the problem? Keep on doing what you're doing.
  13. Agreed that sex can become an addition, but that still does not make it a bujjer kurehit. No, it's like saying eat food, but don't overeat. Now, it's not a good idea to overeat, and it will have bad consequences, but it's still not a bajjar kurehit. If you find you are overeating, then stop. Or get help. From a friend, a doctor, or whoever. But you don't have to go pesh because you overindulged in sex with your husband. If you committed adultery, you do have to go pesh.
  14. Hey! Who are you to post a normal, balanced, post of wisdom? This is a forum for flame-baiting. Get with the program.

It's You want to use a story about the Panj Piyare being tough and maintaining "the rules" to defend Panj Piyare violating the rules?
  16. Never heard of "Fateh Doe" before this. Why in the world would a man name himself after a female deer (doe)? The lack of masculinity of our Panth just astounds me. Secondly, why do our people feel the need to imitate black people? Poor imitation at that, and it always will be. Third, as for songs involving kaam, what more do apne bring to the table as far as this? What's the point? Just let Cardi B or whoever sing their songs and call it a day.
  17. Again, why would you even go on that path? 1) First ask your Radha Swami family if they believe in Gurbani. If they don't, you have nothing more to say to them, as if they were Muslims or something. 2) If they say they do believe in Gurbani, ask them to prove from Gurbani that Gurinder Singh Dhillon is Satguru. 3) If they can't, that destroys their Radha Swami faith. 4) Or, if they ask you to prove from Gurbani that Guru Nanak ji is Satguru, you can do that.
  18. Why are you asking who Satguru is, bro? I already told you above that Satguru is Guru Nanak Dev ji. There are plenty of other lines from Gurbani and Bhai Gurdas ji that demonstrate this, which I could reference, but before that, I'd like you to answer: 1) Do you believe Guru Nanak ji is Satguru? If not who is? 2) If you do believe Guru Nanak ji is Satguru, do you just need more references, or what?
  19. Reference @ADMIN or @S1ngh or PM them.
  20. That would make us (and Guru ji) the exact same as the greedy Brahmins that Gurbani denounces. The Brahmin doesn't care how you made your money. He just wants a cut of it. That's not what he means by money laundering. He's not talking about making a $1000 stolen cash donation (black money), and then the Gurdwara buys $750 of your merchandise from your shop. Now you have $750 of "white money" accounted for before the government. And the corrupt Gurdwara committee has $250 in cash plus $750 of merchandise. That's money laundering. Rather, what he's talking about is earning a bunch of money through illicit means (even if they are legal in the country you are in, they may be against the rehit or spirit of our religion). Then you donate a huge amount of money to a Gurdwara, and you become known as the biggest Sikh on Earth. That's what he's talking about.
  21. It's not a matter of Guru ji turning someone away. The question is of Guru ji accepting or not accepting someone's money if it was obtained through unacceptable means. Guru ji did turn people away in that sense. Granted you can't police the one dollar donations in the golak. But you're telling me that's the same thing as a 500 million pound donation? You can't police that?
