  1. Stop being a negative person. Rinku is his nickname, I have talked to Singhs in Saharanpur. Singhs said he is in Chardikalaa and gave a message to our Qaum to stay united and accept his Fateh.
  2. Bhai Hawara married the lady in question to secure an alias to hide. He specifically told her to marry after he got caught - which she has by the way. He has a child from his earlier marriage who is being raised by his family. Sometimes you have to make statements to escape the Governments wrath, try to look at the bigger picture.
  3. 1. Hari does not refer to Vishnu but to the formless Waheguru. ਘਟ ਘਟ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਜੂ ਬਸੈ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਹਿਓ ਪੁਕਾਰਿ ॥ Ghat Ghat Main Har Ju Baseh, Santan Kahio Pukaar. Guru Tegh Bahadur (Ang 1427, Guru Granth Sahib) Har refers to the all pervading Lord, not some mythical entity. Besides that, Sikhi rejects all myths of other religions and redefines them according to Gurmat - Just like Mecca means mind in Gurmat etc. 2. Even though the Bhagats may have been born in Hindu/Muslim backgrounds, they rejected their beliefs just like Guru Nanak Sahib did. The Hindu is blind while the Muslim is one eyed. The Gyani is wiser than both of them. Bhagat Naamdev (Ang 875, Guru Granth Sahib) Will you still say that Naamdev was a Hindu? All Bhagats, Gurus united under one thought - the above line is applicable to all authors of Bani.
  4. While we are busy debating and dissing each other over trivial issues, our enemies are yet at it again desecrating our religious symbols and killing our people. I said this months back and I repeat, when Sikhs are about to be killed by dushts they are not asked whether they eat meat, believe in Kes or Keski as Kakkar... They are killed because they are SIKHS. Then why can't we unite as Sikhs instead of dividing ourselves? Now this might be a political ploy too, remember it is during the election period where parties can do anything to malign the other side.
  5. Neo, stop with your hippy version of Sikhi. The Gurus gave capital punishment to criminals, serial rapists like Jabar Khan etc. They did not go around plundering towns, looting valuables, killing innocent people and capturing women like Muhammad. Prophet comparison is necessary to show how Jesus, Krishna, Muhammad failed... while the Gurus are the perfection.
  6. All this has been taken from Harpal Singh Kasoors website/research. He is the one who visited many places related to Udasis of Guru Nanak Sahib and got it confirmed from the Vatican. satguru.weebly.com He has also visited Egypt, Uganda etc to confirm Guru Nanak Sahibs visit to these countries.
  7. Don't know if it has been posted before already, but here it is: Anyone know Bhai Sahibs name? I remember he was on Sikh Channel some time ago but didn't notice his name. Other recordings of his or other Paathis are welcome!
  8. Germany because it houses most of the wanted Kharkoos in Europe. Wadhawa Singh BKI's son in law is based there. More than 20 German Sikhs are wanted in Kharkoo related cases. There is not an abundance of traitors, Bhai Talwinder Singh Babbar was arrested in Germany after Satnam Singh Germany tipped him off in the early 1980s as well.
  9. Looks like you have exceeded your daily dose of Sukhnidhaan.
  10. And did Neo just say Buddhist have no country? What about Bhutan where it is the state religion and proselytism is forbidden? Cambodja is a Buddhist country as well. Then there are a few other countries with Buddhist majorities like Sri Lanka, Thailand and Burma.
  11. That article is flawed, secondly it doesn't talk about being in favour or against Khalistan. 1) India's constitution was adopted in 1949 and came into effect even a year later. This is a few years after Hindustani Independance, so why are you asking for Khalistani Constitution now? We should focus on how to get rather than sit down and ask what the capital, national dish will be. 2) We are living in foreign countries, but as Bijla Singh pointed out, our rights are defended as Canadians, Americans etc not as Sikhs. PM Manmohan Singh has been unable to adress the concerns of the Sikh Nation - be it internal Indian issues like the Sikh Genocide or internationally the Turban issue. Even in India, Afghan and Pak Sikh refugees live without citizenships for years; them facing such a fate in western countries is understandable, but this shows how Sikhs have no homeland which welcomes them with open arms in times of need. Sikh Gurdwaras in other Asian countries are not cared for by the Indian govt, did they say anything when Gurdwara Pehli Patshahi Baghdad was blown up? Put this in your mind, we don't have a power behind us to speak for Sikhs or THEIR interests, regardless of where they are. 3) Stop sugarcoating Sikhi, it is not only about spirituality. If you read history sometimes (Gurbani orders Sikhs to read history, next time you come across this tuk contemplate on it 'babaneaa kahaneea poot sapoot karen'), you will notice that 19th century sources mention Guru Gobind Singh ordering his Singhs to take control of areas around Anandpur Sahib. I can name you Sikhs and English sources for this. And who can forget our hero, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, who was sent by Guru Gobind Singh to establish a Just Rule by punishing the Tyrants. 4) Sikhi tops everything, be it capitalism, socialism or Sharia. In fact Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra touches on this subject in his Canadian speech.
  12. Thats a good decision of Gurbachan Singh. 1. We definitely need 3 Sikhs kids per family, if not more. It should also depend on your financial situations, but in many European countries you get paid under schemes when you have more kids so then perhaps income doesn't matter too much (Muslims milk that system). 2. It is rather sad that no one in this thread so far has mentioned adoption. Having more kids is good no doubt but what about the orphans who are already there? Whether in Punjab, India or other parts of the world? Didn't several Gurus show us the way by adopting orphaned or less privileged children and raising them? You can adopt one who is 4-5 years old if you really can't be bothered with the 'baby period trauma'. That is also a sure way of increasing our population. It is sad to read that in our Punjab, there are not many Sikh institutions for orphans who raise them as Sikhs but some Islamic madrassas are actively raising orphans. 3. If you want to increase the population, attract Dalits and others to Sikhi through parchaar in different languages. SGPC does nothing, they have done nothing for the Sikligars, Satnamis and even the non Punjabi converted Sikhs. There was a story about a Tamil Sikh who kept asking for his promised salary to do Parchaar in Tamil Nadu (he didn't get it, google him 'Kandaswamy Singh').
  13. Amazing, Sikhs are waking up in Punjab. This is a step in direction of achieving our Khalsa Raj. On a side note, don't want to ruin the mood of this topic but Sant Ji's birthday was in June not February. Check Baba Gurbachan Singh Bhindranwale's DOB and you'll see that their date and month of birth is being used for Sant Ji. Chalo, as long as Sant Bhindranwale is remembered its good, no matter what day.
  14. 1. Just like Bhai Mardana adopted Sikhi (I can quote history to prove this) and his descendants fell back into Islam somehow. Just like Arab Sikhs existed at the time of Guru Nanak Sahib but don't know. Just like Raja Shiv Nabh embraced Sikhi after meeting Gurudev, sent preachers to convert Sri Lankans, today you find none. Just like half of Bihar used to be Nanakpanthi and now you find less than a few thousand Sikhs there. It is a fact that Guru Nanak Sahib converted many people to Sikhi but sadly they fell back into their original religions due to lack of Parchaar over time. Even today you might find some Arabs or Tibetans who worship Guru Nanak Sahib. According to your favorite people, the Muslims (Ahmadis), Guru Nanak Sahib had 20 million Sikhs. You can imagine what happened to them over time. Besides a very weak point that one has to follow the religion of his ancestors, mine were Hindu does that imply anything about me? 2.There are certain pillars you can't reject and still call yourself a Muslim. Today there are atheists who claim to be Atheist Sikh, you can go as far as you want but there are some limits. 3. You still have not answered why Bhagat Fareed talks of sitting on a seat where many have sat before? Was it really Ibrahim Sani or Sheikh Fareed? 4. You are implying that Guru Nanak Sahib were hypocrite (Waheguru forgive me). But it is rather dumb to assume that you would reject ones religion totally and then get people of that religion to write in your book. Truth is that all Guru Granth Sahib is united under thought, they all reject Islam and Hinduism. In fact Bhagat Kabeer goes far as saying; 'Whatever the Hindu and Muslim scholars have written, I reject; I take inspiration from none'.
  15. Lets not beat around the bush brother. Prof Khalil Nazmi is the current head of Sheikh Fareeds sect in Pakistan. He certainly has more authority to speak on that subject and he mentions the fact that Bhagat Fareed Sani was influenced by Guru Nanak Sahib to the extent that he started using these unIslamic terms. McAuliffe is another historian who talks of Fareed being Fareed Sani. This line of Bhagat Fareed clarifies that he was not the first one of the order but one of the descendants, successors: ਜਿਸੁ ਆਸਣਿ ਹਮ ਬੈਠੇ ਕੇਤੇ ਬੈਸਿ ਗਇਆ ॥੫॥ That seat, upon which we now sit - many others sat on it and have since departed. (488, Bhagat Fareed Ji) Secondly, which Guru is Bhagat Fareed telling us to follow? ਜੋ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਸੈ ਵਾਟ ਮੁਰੀਦਾ ਜੋਲੀਐ ॥ No one has said that meeting someone equals to converting, but being influenced to an extent that you adopt their religious vocabulary does show something. Others than that, it would be improper to class people who reject even the basic pillars of Islam as Muslims. Thats just an excuse for to increase the 'beauty' of the otherwise not so beautiful Islam. Its like saying one can be a Sikh while not following the Gurus word. A religion is flexible but there are certain foundations on which it stands, you can't change those. So stop saying Sufi Islam this and Sufi Islam that. There are no insecurities brother, we just want to be historically correct - enough misinformation is widespread already.
  16. Lets not talk about historians then. Lets talk facts. Bring your source to prove that Bhagats were not Sikhs from their writings plus history. 1. Do you deny that all Bhagats met Guru Nanak Dev Ji? 2. How would you explain a fanatical Muslim (as you claim Sheikh Fareed was one) revering a "Kafir", Guru Nanak Dev and use un-Islamic terminology such as Guru, Saadh, etc. 3. Do you really believe people like Bhagat Kabir, Bhagat Fareed and Bhagat Ravidas were Muslims or Hindus? How can one be a Muslim when he rejects Hajj (Kabeer)? 4. Professor Khalil of Pakistan claims that a migrant to Punjab like Sheikh Fareed could not have written such Bani in Punjabi. Give proofs that the 12th century Sheikh Fareed, a non Punjabi, managed to write such poetry and so similar to the Punjabi of 300 years after of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. Language evolves over 300 years, or will you now claim it does not ? 5. Did Sheikh Fareed write his Bani in Arabic script? Don't believe things only because you read them on net, research history brother. Read Janamsakhis. Can you tell me what Janamsakhis say about Bhagat Ravidas, Bhagat Kabir and Guru Nanak? Where they met?
  17. Welcome to the Path of Sikhi I would recommend watching videos on the Basics of Sikhi channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/basicsofsikhi‎ Best of luck and may the Guru bless you even more
  18. It is accepted by many noted historians that the Fareed of Gurbani is the contemponary of the Guru, a spiritual successor to the 12th century Fareed, who was impressed by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The real name of this Bhagat was Sheikh Ibrahim Sani. The devout and fanatical Sheikh Fareed, one who converts people to Islam as you said yourself, would not use un-Islamic terms such as Guru, Saadh in his Bani. The meeting between Gurudev and Bhagat Fareed has been documented in many Janamsakhis, such as the Puratan and Meherbaan. All Bhagats whose writing is included in Guru Granth Sahib were influenced by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and were therefore his Sikhs. And don't tell me you believe that Sain Mian Mair laid down the foundation stone of Harmandar Sahib?
  19. Sikhi does not say all religions lead to god, for that would mean cultists like Dera Sacha Saudis and Raelians would also be getting to God through their Pakhand. Nowhere is it stated the religion xyz also leads to God according to Gurbani. Only good conduct and remembrance do (so it is possible to be part of another religion and be close to God only because of things like remembrance of Waheguru & good conduct, but that does not mean those Paths or their religious books are right).
  20. We as Sikhs have a rich and beautiful history with many many beautiful Sakhis, historical events that are so inspiring for everyone. When explaining non Sikhs about Sikh history, one can't go into details about all the good that happened between 1469 and now; we have to select a few Sakhis to 'hold their interest'. If you had to choose 3 or 5 incidents from all of Sikh ithaas to tell a non Sikh briefly, what would those be? I would definitely include a brief explanation of Guru Nanak Sahibs Udaasis, Shahadat of 9th Patshah for human rights, Bhai Kanhaiya Jis Sakhi and Jassa Singh rescuing 2200 kidnapped Hindu women.
  21. Name me one main culprit who was punished in the Delhi 1984 Sikh Genocide? Most MPs were involved such as Dharam Das Shastri, Sajjan Kumar and HKL Bhagat but none were punished. Small scale leaders who led the genocide also reached high positions becoming mayors or finance ministers later on. Low rank officers became DSPs, ACPs - action was taken against only a few officers (that too minimal, none were suspended), while some officers were accused of disarming Sikhs and even killing Sikhs along with the mob. India's justice: Innocent Kehar Singh is hanged until death in the Indira case while Kishori Lal's death sentence is commuted to life sentence and an early release is considered. Note that Kishori Lal murdered more than 14 Sikhs in Trilokpuri. They can put 94 years old Asa Singh back into prison (defying various state laws) for a robbery case dating back to 1987 but are willing to release a killer of more than a dozen Sikhs in 84? Ten thousand Sikhs were killed in Delhi, why hasn't there been a single death sentence?
  22. Protest won't lead you anywhere. And don't deviate from the point about Guru Gobind Singh Maharaaj . What you think is not what Guru Ji taught or did.
  23. Was Guru Gobind Singh a terrorist for ordering the killing of Jaabr Khan? Read history and see how brutally he was killed for his heinous crimes against humanity. It is Guru Sahibs Hukam to punish the tyrant. What will peaceful protest get you? Another diamond like Bhai Jaspal Singh lost? Singhs like Baba Banda Singh and Hari Singh Nalwa be getting sad up there in Sach Khand seeing our current halat and excessive love for peace.
