  1. Have faith in Guru JI. Ask for Guru Ji to wake you up at Amrit Vela when you do you ardas prior to going to sleep. It always works for me,hopefully it will work for you. If you feel like going back to sleep just remember your Guru woke you up and just love him.
  2. This is why caste based Gurdwaras have been set up. It is very disappointing. But anyway one who is true to Sikhi will never give up their Guru.
  3. There is only one thing we need to remember that Sikhi is the TRUTH and is came directly from VAHEGURU. Sikhi was not influenced by anyone or anything. Aagya Bhei Akaal Ki Tabay Chalayo Panth, Sabh Sikhan Ko Hukkam Hai Guru Manyo Granth. We need to stop deluding ourselves and concentrate on Sikhi.
  4. Dear Sangat Ji VJKK VJKF, I just want to ask the question that is it mandatory (maryada) for Shastars to be present in front of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Sometimes I have been to some Gurdwaras and sometimes I see gurdwaras on tv and see that Guru Ji is prakash and there are no shastars. I find it strange that Guru Ji is without shastar. Please can others share their experience, if they feel the same way. Also what can be done about this. Thank you, VJKK VJKF
  5. There are rules in an Anand Karaj which the husband and wife have to abide by equally. Giani Pinderpal Singh Ji did a katha on the duties of a husband and wife in Sikhi. If there is a problem then the couple should seek guidance from Guru Ji.
  6. Start doing simran, and Vaheguru will take care of the rest.
  7. Is the blog removed? When I click on the link i get a 404 error code stating "page not found".
  8. Basics of Sikhi does street parchar. I think they are a good example.
  9. http://searchgurbani.com/dasam_granth/page/132/line/13 This link provides the answer of what Guru Maharaj states about gods etc... you have to continue to read through each page. The link is the beginning of the shabad.

    Death

    VJKK VJKF, I found this Shabad. I hope it helps. Only Vaheguru in his infinite wisdom knows what is best for us and what will happen to us when we pass away. Guru Ji gives some guidance on what will happen in certain circumstances. It is important to remember that we MUST keep Vaheguru in our minds and hearts as much as possible. ਗੂਜਰੀ ॥ Goojaree || गूजरी ॥ Goojaree: 1 ਪੰ. ੫ Ang:526 Line: 5 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਲਛਮੀ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ Anth Kaal Jo Lashhamee Simarai Aisee Chinthaa Mehi Jae Marai || अंति कालि जो लछमी सिमरै ऐसी चिंता महि जे मरै ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of wealth, and dies in such thoughts, 2 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੫ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 5 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਸਰਪ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੧॥ Sarap Jon Val Val Aoutharai ||1|| सरप जोनि वलि वलि अउतरै ॥१॥ Shall be reincarnated over and over again, in the form of serpents. ||1|| 3 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੬ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 6 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਅਰੀ ਬਾਈ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਤਿ ਬੀਸਰੈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ Aree Baaee Gobidh Naam Math Beesarai || Rehaao || अरी बाई गोबिद नामु मति बीसरै ॥ रहाउ ॥ O sister, do not forget the Name of the Lord of the Universe. ||Pause|| 4 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੬ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 6 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ Anth Kaal Jo Eisathree Simarai Aisee Chinthaa Mehi Jae Marai || अंति कालि जो इसत्री सिमरै ऐसी चिंता महि जे मरै ॥ At the very last moment, he who thinks of women, and dies in such thoughts, 5 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੭ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 7 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਬੇਸਵਾ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੨॥ Baesavaa Jon Val Val Aoutharai ||2|| बेसवा जोनि वलि वलि अउतरै ॥२॥ Shall be reincarnated over and over again as a prostitute. ||2|| 6 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੭ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 7 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਲੜਿਕੇ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ Anth Kaal Jo Larrikae Simarai Aisee Chinthaa Mehi Jae Marai || अंति कालि जो लड़िके सिमरै ऐसी चिंता महि जे मरै ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of his children, and dies in such thoughts, 7 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੮ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 8 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਸੂਕਰ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੩॥ Sookar Jon Val Val Aoutharai ||3|| सूकर जोनि वलि वलि अउतरै ॥३॥ Shall be reincarnated over and over again as a pig. ||3|| 8 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੮ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 8 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਜੋ ਮੰਦਰ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ Anth Kaal Jo Mandhar Simarai Aisee Chinthaa Mehi Jae Marai || अंति कालि जो मंदर सिमरै ऐसी चिंता महि जे मरै ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of mansions, and dies in such thoughts, 9 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੯ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 9 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਜੋਨਿ ਵਲਿ ਵਲਿ ਅਉਤਰੈ ॥੪॥ Praeth Jon Val Val Aoutharai ||4|| प्रेत जोनि वलि वलि अउतरै ॥४॥ Shall be reincarnated over and over again as a goblin. ||4|| 10 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੯ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 9 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਅੰਤਿ ਕਾਲਿ ਨਾਰਾਇਣੁ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਐਸੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੇ ਮਰੈ ॥ Anth Kaal Naaraaein Simarai Aisee Chinthaa Mehi Jae Marai || अंति कालि नाराइणु सिमरै ऐसी चिंता महि जे मरै ॥ At the very last moment, one who thinks of the Lord, and dies in such thoughts, 11 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੧੦ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 10 Share on facebookShare on twitterShare on emailMore Sharing ServicesShare ਬਦਤਿ ਤਿਲੋਚਨੁ ਤੇ ਨਰ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਪੀਤੰਬਰੁ ਵਾ ਕੇ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸੈ ॥੫॥੨॥ Badhath Thilochan Thae Nar Mukathaa Peethanbar Vaa Kae Ridhai Basai ||5||2|| बदति तिलोचनु ते नर मुकता पीत्मबरु वा के रिदै बसै ॥५॥२॥ Says Trilochan, that man shall be liberated; the Lord shall abide in his heart. ||5||2|| 12 ਗੂਜਰੀ (ਭ. ਤ੍ਰਿਲੋਚਨ) ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ : ਅੰਗ ੫੨੬ ਪੰ. ੧੦ Raag Goojree Bhagat Trilochan Ang:526 Line: 10 VJKK VJKF
  11. NO, Sikhs believe in Karta Purakh. There is only ONE TRUE CREATOR. Even Vishkarma is a creation by the ONE TRUE CREATOR. Any Sikh who believes in Vishkarma is NOT A SIKH. This is Anti-Gurmat as per Sikh Rehat Maryada. http://sgpc.net/rehat_maryada/section_four.html. See point (a) in this link.

  14. yep agree totally, it's all about the money. To combat this, we need to get more Singhs/Singhnis into hero/heroine roles.
  15. When the world sees Sikhs going crazy on our remembrance day at Harmandir Sahib, what will they think? Where are the modern day role models? I think that the Basics of Sikhi is doing a great job of spreading awareness. We need more of this type of parchar.
  16. No, you can download or listen on the web page itself. All free of charge or registration.

  18. In the shabad quoted above about it being foolish to argue about meat and flesh, Guru Ji is explaining the hypocrisy of hindu brahmins/pandits just as I explained previously. Giani Takur Singh Ji has done Katha on this shabad. Please go and listen to it. PLEASE TELL ME WHERE THE SHABAD TELLS YOU TO GO AND KILL AN ANIMAL AND EAT IT'S DEAD CARCASS SPECIFICALLY. I just want to know because all I can find is shabads guiding to eat roti, beans, lentils etc... NOT ANIMALS. It is understandable that where there is no other food source available then one would have to hunt and consume a dead carcass. BUT I doubt this is the case for the 99.99999999% of Sikhs. Why show the above quote to Guru Gobind Singh Ji when it was he who dictated the Bani to Bhai Mani Singh Ji. Also please stick to the topic of diet. Thank you.
  19. I'm Pro Gurbani. Yes you are right Gurbani isn't a set of rules BUT, as Sikhs we live by the guidance of Gurbani. Sikhi is a way of life. All aspects of life are covered by Gurbani from birth to death. Which is why Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the one true everlasting Guru. I cannot find anywhere in Gurbani that tells us to eat a dead carcass. I can only find shabads that refrain us from such actions. Just like the Shabad you quoted. PLEASE CAN YOU OR ANYONE PROVIDE A SHABAD THAT TELLS US TO EAT DEAD CARCASSES. I have asked this many times to no avail.
  20. This is good, hopefully Punjabi's who have lost their Sikhi way, will get inspired to come back to Sikhi. The more non-Punjabis that become Sikhs and follow Guru Ji's path the better.
  21. This Shabad DOES NOT tell anyone to go out and eat a dead carcass. Guru Ji is simply pointing out Hindu hypocrisy just like in Hardwar. It's that simple.
  22. WJKK WJKF, I presume that is how the carcass of animals would have been used previous times. Now with industrialisation it is unlikely. In my opinion it would probably be better to be as ethical as we can, but sometimes it is not possible. Maybe try to use synthetics where possible, but that is another topic. This is regarding animal consumption. Gurbani mentions the use of dairy products, but I can't find a shabad telling us to consume animals. Please can someone provide such a shabad.
