    Re:

chauvinism breeds chauvinism, let them have there protest this is all they're entitled to in a democracy, we are entitled to ours also so why is nobody holding a protest?, personally i dont care, rule the uk??? dream on what reality are you living in me thinks you have a 1947 partition mindset???? islam is like smoking, its a bad habit to start and even harder to give up but it will cause you alot of distress and harm those around you it may even kill you one day!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D
  2. Mananhanna Sahib is near my village it is a magnificent gurdwara and there is a mela there once a year in honour of the sants who lived there, my grandfather told me that they call them nikki vale sant, at night time years ago they would position themselves along the nair(stream) to find out if the people were coming to the gurdwara were devotees or thugs, and they would vanish after they met with someone on the road, and then appear at the gurdwara to greet devotees or warn the sangat that thugs were approaching. This is all I know. It is truly a great place there is no dehradum going on there. But it is a magnificent building with a really high tower and you can go to the top of the tower as there is a darbar up there.
  3. I remember this man and his wife, the man said that the jathedar was not to be appointed by the SGPC and that the sarbat khalsa should elect the jathedar itself, the SGPC in anger withdrew his wifes support for her constituency in 2002 i think, she lost her job as an mp or whatever they call it in punjab, my guess this was the SGPC's handiwork as they want to treat the jathedar as their employee and this sort of dissent could reduce their control on sikh affairs and ultimately finances.
  4. Hi Did anyone go on the nagar kirtan in coventry?, one of my relatives went and said that a group of muslim youths were deliberatley inciting the procession as it passed by the mosque is this true?
  5. Allow hinduism to remain a shining star instead of a blackhole, you know all of us are in someway linked throughout humanity and if one part of humanity goes down the rest will follow like dominos, no community can thrive forever without the support of others if they could then god would not have created diversity. Does nature survive if we remove a part of the food chain? no it doesn't it collapses and is never the same again. Saying that i like tigerstyle records but wish it was called singhstyle cos i'm lion not tiger :D .
  6. refer him to this: http://www.islamicboard.com/comparative-re...14-sikhism.html I got banned from here. :D
  7. why can't we operate as an independant party instead of making partnership, green party in uk is an independant party, so is bnp.
  8. Looks like the goreh have found a new market that needs exploiting.
  9. I'm of the opinion that hinduism is not a religion more an outward reflection of external influences which manifested through centuries of successive invasions, the greek mythology of gods is a potent form of this assimilation, I think this is why hinduism in spite of its many gods seems to transcend its identity time and time again, its almost as if they take on invading characteristics then claim them as their own, with progressive globalisation you see bollywood as a potent form of americanism, bollywood should not be seen as the same as the old indian cinema, bollywood seems to be the by-product of the invasive globalisation indeed its a pay-off but is very much portrayed as something unique to the collective indian identity, I once heard ashwariya say that bollywood was typical of indias celebration of life through song and dance but india is 90% villages so what reality is she living in. The problem with sikhism then becomes the unique identity as opposed to parent ideology of hinduism which they would like us to believe. Anyways things are changing they are not as forthcoming anymore in projecting us as hindus as we have in recent years been more proactive with our media which is good, but we shouldn't stop we have to stay awake and realise that all people will take advantage it would appear that sikhs only have that tendency to look beyond their own identity and understand others, we should not expect others to do the same.
  10. Reminds me of preparing body for cremation.
  11. a part of me wants to say you should be able to love anyone who your parents introduce you o but i would be denying reality, i feel parents have to comprimise also, the beauty of love is that when you follow your heart you unintentionally follow sikhi because you overcome any caste , racial difference because the heart is not brainwashed like the mind is.
  12. I lived in LA for 2 years then returned back to the uk, I found that racial divides in USA are so apparent, the UK is heaven in comparison, I think obama would be a "change" but I would never support any candidate who supported the death penalty this is my criteria for leadership.

  14. OK the reason why I posted this was to see if anyone remembered the similarity of this theory with an earlier criticism of islam by christians, 2 years ago I used to post on the islamicboard website and remember alot of xtians propounding a story about islam and the pagan moon god worship, here see: http://www.bible.ca/islam/islam-moon-god.htm Notice how the documentary stresses the paganism of judeo-christian faiths only? I will tell you that westerners are sly and do cheat people but they are in no way sinister, the drawing on german characters of rothwell and rockefellar are aimed at inciting fear through nazism, my theory is that this video has been conjured by islamists, I dont believe in it. It shows the utter depth and desperation of terrorists, tell me why would the usa create a un if they never believed in the concept of a un?, a un is an obstacle to one world governence, and also in the wider scheme of things is a one world governance really that bad???
  15. Nothing to do with sikhi but very topical thing to watch: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=55...h&plindex=0
  16. Dhillon ji The compositions of court poets was in a separate granth called Vidyasagar Granth. When Anandpur sahib was under siege poets were asked by guru ji to leave and they did. Vidyasagar Granth was lost to inflated sirsa river.Compositions of Guru sahib was compiled by Bhai Mani singh ji in Dasam Granth. To interpret dasam Granth apart from Braj bhasha one should have knowledge of Punjabi,Hindi,Sanskrit and persian/Neither Darshan singh nor kala afghana has that. Actually the original name of dasam granth has been: Smudsagar / Avtarlila / Vidyasagar Granth/Vidyadar Granth / Bachitar Natak /Satsai Granth Dasam granth became a recension of what was salvaged through warfare in fact it was never a whole entity in its own right, its first recension was named after how much it weighed. Some say the reason why Bhai Mani singh was cut limb from limb is because he seperated the first recension and was advised that his angs would also be severed. Kind regards, Indsta
  17. Paonta Sahib was a place where the 10th guru had 52 court poets including nand lal etc, they used to write poetry with the guru and these were collated into a volume, alot of the volume was destroyed when anandpur was attacked, I would not ascribe all literature in dasam granth to be personally from the guru but would state that dasam granth is a work under the gurus patronage. Dasam granth is not to be classed as gurbani as it is not given that authority, it seems to related the dialectic sublime of the 10th guru to indias composite heritage. I think Professor Darshan Singh Ji should apologise or refrain from making such statements in future.
  18. I believe reality is not static its constantly becoming, evolution of societies only happens through change, change can only happen when religions update their practices, if a religion fails to update its praxis then the teachings of religion will make parenting suffer, children will then go on to breakdown society. I am not talking about any single issue here nor am I taking sides in this debate. Parents should learn from religion that: 1) Self determination is the only form of lifestyle, wow just imagine if that was instilled in children from a young age that by working hard you can acheive anything, but parents pray to sant soandsowale and when sant doesn't deliver, children have no faith in parents and then children get parenting from t.v , freinds and internet etc. Children should learn from parents that: 2) The media is not a personal voice for you it is ok for you to be who you are and we will always love you, you can always ask us any question no matter how bad that question is because youre in a safe environment and can speak freely, because if we dont equip you with the tools then you will not be able to raise youre children later on. Probably of track :s

  20. My point is that the Kaaba revolving or the temple turning are not fairy tales, nor are they metaphors. does anyone here really think that proving a massive religion wrong in the central place of worship is gonna be remembered by the devoted of muslims, i doubt it, throughout history man protects his ego at all costs, to let people know the truth would throw a spanner in the works, what would they do with the kaaba if they knew it was pointless, can you imagine all the travel agents reimbursing all the hajjis for the great scam of gods house. simple we do not need to engage in these debates if their religion was worthy they would not need to defend it using science they would be contributing to society and loved in turn by the same society.
  21. When I used to be a member of the islamic board I remember debating about various lectures given by zakir, his debating style is always loaded, I remeber he gave a lecture once about halal versus jhatka, and he used scientific evidence to a certain point in the discussion to state the method was more ethical as the animal felt no pain, when someone mentioned that certain enzymes are secreted in the body as a response to fear in the animal when being cut he diverted away from the topic and used dentistry records to prove that humans have canine teeth which have the function of cutting through meat, yet no one asked him about the ethics of eating meat, the crowd did not realise he diverted from answering the question about halal vs jhatka but because he added a bit of science and recalled a surplus of religious texts from memory his error went unnoticed, examine him carefully. His lectures are foolish clappingfest.
