In purewal calendar the date was fixed for January 5th, just like Christmas lands on the 25th for the gregorian calendar. It's sad that you have been on this Sikh forum for 8 years and you were unable to learn what simran in sikhi is even after it has been explained multiple times. You can lead a horse to the water but you can't force it to drink. Ziva says it's okay to drink alcohol. Gurbani says it's not okay. Sikhi starts with Ik Onkar. Ziva starts with maya. Ziva is a really watered down version of the 3 gunas that Gurbani says is not meditation. Mantra in Gurbani is about remembering Vaheguru and not about making sounds. Animals make primordial sounds and they don't meditate. Gurbani teaches actual meditation for free. Ziva charges $400 to teach a person how to breath.

Anyone coming to Sikhi whether from another religion or race or country brings a lot of baggage. And they don't want to let go of that baggage. Just look at 3ho white Sikhs. They have made a mockery of Gurbani. They get together on certain dates and dance while Gurbani is being played. The organizers step up the platform for this disrespect to continue every year. They encourage their white culture as the bread and butter of Sikhi. Culture of Sikhi is tied in with punjab. Yet these other people who claim to be Sikh want to change sikhi culture because then they can have relationships outside of marriage with the opposite sex. They can go to their beach days in a bikini and see nothing wrong with it. Because they will say, the Guru never says you cant expose yourself. White, western culture will never be compatible with Sikhi.

Other than his appearance did you have a problem with what he said? Hes speaking about social issues happening currently in the Sikh Community in western countries. Maybe if he had Gursikhs like Sant Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa Bhindranwale around him. he would become a Sikh by keeping hair uncut. Do you have any evidence to say interfaith marriages are allowed by Gurbani? Your emotional post means nothing other than you hold strong beliefs against Gurbani that is read out during the lavan. In the first pauris of the lavan Guru Sahib clearly says drop your previous religion and join to the Gurus teachings. Bhagat kabir ji says in Gurbani that he is not a Muslim. If people use segregation as means to feed the demon of ego, then why did Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji start a new religion called Sikhi? This is another way to segregate people. According to you Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was in ego. If you want to date a white chick because she is hot. That's on you and own up to it. There is no evidence to say Gurbani or Guru sahib in history allowed interfaith marriages. There is evidence right in first pauris of lavan to show whoever wants to be blessed with the Gurus blessing through lavan they need to drop their old religion and come to the Gurus path of Sikhi. Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji gave charan di Pahul to Sikhs, which means he wanted his followers to transform into Sikhs and leave their old religion. Our second Guru, Sri Guru Angad Dev ji (was Bhai lehna ji before) left his old religion after hearing the Bani of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. No where in history will you find that Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji instructed bhai lehna ji to keep up with his old religion and Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji would accept him as his Sikh. Bhai lehna ji only received Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji blessing after he dropped his old religion and followed the Gurus instructions. Sikhi is about transforming on the inside and this shows as a person dresses in appropriate clothing and covers the hair on the head. You have emotional and physical attachment to your boyfriend. But the Guru will only accept him and you if you follow the Gurus path of becoming Sikhs.

Charitorpakhyan applies easily to western women. They basically have no limits when it comes to dating before marriage and cheating on a spouse. The eastern parts of the world kept their women in the village and they would go out for school but be picked up and dropped off by parents, brothers, and blood related uncles. It was the eastern urban area men who would allow their women to go out of the house more freely, without a male member of the house and they would have the opportunities to behave in the manner that is described in charitorpakhyan. The macho wannabes on here want to make eastern women look bad because they married or their sisters are the more urban women. Let's face it they will call the eastern people pendu. But at least a decade ago the village families had self respect and could hold their heads high. Still their are a lot of village people who can hold their head high for this aspect.
