  1. Why dont we ring this Gurdwara up? or get the numbers of the guys doing the petition and ring them and tell them we wont allow manmat.
  2. i think the problem is deeper....i dont think many people have that philosophy now... i think women dont want to be involved in this sort of thing. unfortunatly they want their man to take them shopping rather than go to a protest or meeting. or look after the kids on the weekedn. or maybe cook.... i have seen singhs being held back constantly. in the end they give into thier wife. she is attached to him and her life revolves around him...she does not want him to be away from her..... gone are the days when the wife wud hapily spend the day with the inlaws at home. insted she wants to go out and eat and go on holiday. all the luxuries in the world...forget the panth just wory bout number 1....on the other hand singhs dont come themsleves so how can their wives come to a protest....we need to encourage everyone not only women...most women are stronger than men...but they tend to be more attached too.
  3. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Well maybe it never occured to them either before. I just hope it has now occured to them just as it has to you. The campaign is nothing anyway. Guru Ji's beadbi is bigger than all issues so please lets not get dragged into politics with this. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  4. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Can safely say thats my sister. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  5. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Southall is always quiet unless it is a kirtan programme. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  6. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I may be able to shed some light on this. The campaign has no structure. Many people have come and gone. Many new people have started taking interest only over the last few weeks due to EK Niwaas issue in the midlands area. Anyone who sees themself as a Sikh should not be part of any event where there is beadbi. So if they have only recently joined they will not be taking part in organising such an event. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  7. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. This is really sad. Why have we not been educated on these incidents. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  8. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. You are right what is in your mind and heart comes out oneday. Look at the example of the Watford incident last sunday. They saw Guru Ji as a book, and not as our 11th Guru. Would they want to be in looked in a suitcase? Respect is more than just words, it is actions. Thanks for bearing the sensitivities in mind for the future. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  9. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Veer again maybe you misunderstood me. I said dont type "SGGS". My words: ""William I appreciate we are all learning, so I must educate you that as Sikhs we refrain from caling our Guru "SGGS", so I humbly request in future please do not use this abreviation."" Read the post again and tell me where I said you must type out the title fully? If you did do this then it would not be such a bad thing. I have not got the time to argue with you and nor am I am kid that I am gonna spend all day on here responding to you. Guru sab da bhalla kare. Hope I didn't offend you or William. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  10. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I'm sure no one is holding it against you. Forget about it. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  11. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Veer ji I think you got a little carried away, I think it is disrespectful to use "SGGS", maybe I think this because it reminds me of bollywood films being abreviated in this way. Sorry I was only trying to show some respect to our Guru. Would you call Guru Gobind Singh Ji "GGS" if they were stood infront of you? I never said you cant call them 'Guru Ji'. Book or page IS DISRESPECTFUL, and that is without getting super tech Veer. I think you need to stay calm veer and think before you type. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  12. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. The culprits and thier sorry faces says it all. They should be so ashamed of themselves. They should be given punishment from Panj Singh. I think it is important they are contacted and told they need to ask for forgiveness from Panj Singh. At least the main guy Rashpal Atwal should be made to admit his errors in public and ask for forgiveness infront of Panj Singh. What does the Sangat think? Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  13. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. You ask a good question William. I mean there is no difference. We need to show as much respect as possible to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. We need to make sure people understand the value of our Guru. People need to be educated on who our Guru is. If someone has Guru Maharaj's saroop at home then it is important that they are aware of maryada. William I appreciate we are all learning, so I must educate you that as Sikhs we refrain from caling our Guru "SGGS", so I humbly request in future please do not use this abreviation. Do you know of any houses where this practice takes place? Please let us know if you know of any. If you can build up the courage then please try and educate the householders that they are doing wrong and must correct the error of thier ways. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  14. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Guru Ji is so great. It was a difficult situation that the Sangat faced, lots of police presence and a long day. Seeing The King of Kings Jaagdi Jot Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj in a suitcase made your blood boil. It really was emotional, but what a seva. Wah! AN APPEAL GOES OUT TO THOSE NOT PRESENT. It is time to wake up and help stop these beadbis. We need to think what we were doing yesterday, was it really that important that we could not be part of the seva to stop Maharaj di beadbi? The simran was beautiful, people were crying. It was hard to contain yourself. Panth Ki Jeet. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  15. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Lets not be silly, writing letters is beneath some people. I mean its not their seva...lol Oh and others can't be bothered. All they wanted to do is have something to talk about and now they are a little upset the issue is drawing closer to an end. It only costs 50p and an envelope. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  16. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Is that the definative list then? Must be more committees planning on opening halls. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  17. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Sangat Ji I was thinking how much beadbi goes on around us and we don't even notice. We get on our high horses about small issues, but what about Gurudwara committees building halls for parties and weddings. I know some sevadaar across the country have been trying to educate people on this and on occasions tried to tackle the issue. This to me is blatant disrespect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The activities that take place are considered manmat. The Sangat money is misused. We have so many problems with our kids and we spend the money on halls. It is the same as dancing in the Gurudwara and drinking in the Gurudwara. No difference, not to me. I just wanted to know how many halls there are out there. Can everybody please tell me if they know of any. I wanted to write an article on this. But I need all the facts. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  18. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Does anyone have any contacts in India that they can encourage to get in contact with Akal Takht? Maybe if you are part of a jatha, taksal, or know any Sants. If you do then please try to use the contacts. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  19. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I have been informed the address is simply: Sri Akaal Takht Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab, India. Can someone please clarify. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  20. Dear Santa Clara Marriott, I am emailing you in regards to a wedding which has been booked for 5th Aug 2006 at the Santa Clara Marriott. The marriage party is planning to have a Sikh religious wedding ceremony in the Santa Clara Marriott, which will involve bringing 'Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji', the Sikhs' Sacred Scripture, which the Sikhs regard with utmost reverence and sanctity. The Sikh's Supreme Authority has banned this practice of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji being taken to places where there is alcohol, tobacco or meat served. It clearly has been said that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is not allowed to be taken to banqueting halls, hotels, pubs or bars. Therefore, this a clear violation of the Sikhs religious sentiments and is the greatest dishonour. This is seen as an act of blasphemy. We urge you to reconsider your position and put a stop to all Sikh religious ceremonies taking place on your premises. We would suggest the religious ceremony be held in a Sikh Gurdwara. Please can you inform the family or stop the holy scriptures being disrespected. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. We hope you will also realise the seriousness of the issue and prevent any unnecessary large peaceful protests. A big demonstration outside your hotel is planned for the wedding day if alternative arrangements are not made. There is plenty of notice to re-arrange this wedding. We hope you take this matter seriously, and prevent any unnecessary peaceful protests by the Sikh community from across the USA by not allowing the disrespect and violation of the Sikh's sacred scripute, Guru Granth Sahib Ji, from happening on your hotel premises. We urge you to stop the religious part of the wedding taking place on your premises so as to avoid distress to the Sikh community and the adverse publicity for your hotel. Previously hotels, halls, clubs and other such venues have agreed to change the plans. I would like a reply as soon as possible, as Sikhs across the country are planning to hold peaceful protests outside the hotel if the Sacred Scriptures, Guru Granth Sahib Ji, is brought to the Hotel Complex. Regards, [NAME] Possible template letter that should be sent to the hotel. Please edit and send as you feel. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE AMERICAN SANGAT WAKES UP AND DOES ITS BIT. THIS IS A MASSIVE BEADBI OF OUR GURU. SIKHS HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIFE/BLOOD/FAMILY FOR THEIR GURU, ALL YOU HAVE TO GIVE IS 10 SECONDS OF YOUR TIME.
  21. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh I gonna put one up in my local Gurdwara today. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh
  22. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Seems like they are doing some great work. Putting alot of people to shame. I have heard that their parchaar is very good. Those pictures tell a story. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
  23. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. I agree with the first post. Lets highlight and shame people taking part in beadbi. Let the sangat take control. Everybody who cares about Guru Ji will act in the proper way. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is our Guru. They and none other can attain the title for a Sikh. Guru Ji has the light of our first 10 Guru Sahibs contained within them. They should be shown utmost respect. A Sikhs duty and way of life should be to show as much respect to Guru Maharaj as possible. This is the whole point of being a Sikh. You must put trust in Guru Ji. You must read and try to understand Guru Ji. Sri Guru Arjan Sahib Ji slept on the floor whilst placing Adi Granth Sahib (at the time Guru Granth Sahib Ji were not even the Guru and not fully compiled, hence known as Adi Granth) on their own bed. To a Sikh Guru Ji should be more important than his/her own life. We must use respect when talking about Guru Maharaj. Would we say 'it' to Guru Gobind Singh Ji? or would we say The Guru Gobind Singh Ji? No we would not, so lets not use such terms for Guru Granth Sahib Ji. And please stop abreviating e.g SGGSJ. Is this a hindi film? Put literature about Guru Ji's respect in every Gurdwara. Talk on stages about beadbi. I apologise for any mistakes. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Different types of beadbi: -Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji being put on shelves in a Gurdwara. -Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji being taken to halls/hotels/clubs/bars/pubs/off licences etc. -Meat and alcohol being served in a Gurdwara. -Wedding halls being opened using Guru Ji and sangats money, where meat and alcohol are served.
  24. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. It is important people stop reffering to Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as a book. Also have noted people saying 'it'....lets use some respect. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. Also VERY interesting how people dont like to be disrespected, but they dont mind Guru Ji being disrespected. This is still not a problem, but people will point it out that they are disrespected and go out of their way to tell others to stop and not talk down to them...etc etc Maybe we should all realise Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is more important to some than their own lives. So if you feel hurt at being disrespected how do you think they will feel if Guru Ji isn't respected. It is important we all maintain a level of maturity when dealing with any situation.
  25. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh. The whole thing is a joke....lol I cant stop laughing. Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
