  1. I've never seen anyone do Giddah at any wedding I've been to.
  2. I'd probably just ask what their expectations are in the marriage?
  3. Medical Marijuana's been a thing for millennium at this point.
  4. I mean no offense, but arguing about meat one way or the other is pretty useless if someone doesn't know bani or rehat. For most people eating KFC is the same as jhatkaing an animal yourself.

    Natural order

In most scenarios an able-bodied father should protect the family, (including wife and kids), a mother should protect her kids, (after the husband is gone), and oldest siblings should protect younger siblings, (after the parents are gone). If a young child is protecting both mom and dad, something is severely wrong in that scenario. According to Sikhi all of these souls are equal, but by all accounts calling them equal in the pecking order is just not common sense. The ones calling Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Harkrishan Ji a child should have a deeper look at themselves on how they view Guru Sahib instead of saying a normal child should be a leader.
  6. I'd say start with doing Nitnem and Amrit Vela for a while before taking Amrit. If you are living the Rehat it becomes more easier to eventually take Amrit, if you never do paaht, it would be hard to keep the maryada. Just make another topic brava.
  7. People are afraid of what they don't know. Considering 99% of us haven't seen any ghosts or know much about them; we might not exactly be buddy-buddy with ghosts.
  8. I remember when mentioning Jhatka would get you warnings.
  9. If you're unsatisfied by the marriage you probably should get divorced, nothing is worth losing your mental health over.
  10. If western nations had open borders; it would be overpopulated by Desis; and UK would be India 2.0
  11. How do you know the Columbian woman isn't just after a green card though?
  12. Most Sikh kids in general cut their hair, even if 2 punjabi parents. Really up to the child at that point to choose Sikhi.
  13. Wouldn't the Columbian lady become a UK girl when she moves? I hear a lot of that happening where a woman who was traditional back home becomes less traditional in the new country.
  14. I'm sure the number is much lower of actual Christians, because many of them are only nominally Christian for the community aspect. Very few people genuinely believe the earth is only 10000 years old and the Bible.
  15. The biggest problem currently is that we are encouraged to be so unique that if we have a concept that's somewhat similar to another religion, (Christianity and Hinduism), we are told that it's not part of our traditions. I've mentioned Guru Sahib not being seen as God, by a lot of the Panth mainly as a reactionary to get Sikhs to view Jesus as God by the British, but also reactionary towards Hinduism as we are rejected that idea of reincarnation and karma. Sikhi ultimately needs to stand by itself, instead of it having to be reactionary towards something else.
  16. When being a Sikh was a death sentence, Baba Deep Singh Ji wrote a farsi saroop of Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and sent it to Iraq which barely had any Sikhs, now we as Punjabis, (which has a lot more Sikhs and Gurdwaras), are making controversy over legitimacy of Dasam Granth and on whether Guru Sahib was Vaheguru or not. We aren't winning, we've already lost until we go back to Sikhi.
  17. Speaking for real, in modern times our faith is heavily-centric to Punjab and Punjabi issues. There are more talks on Punjab in Punjabi in Gurdwaras than the issues aam bande have wherever they live. If all the people in the Gurdwara are Punjabi, all the talks are in Punjabi, and we are talking about Punjab; why would average Gora or Kalla want to join? What made people like Jugraj Singh unique was that he didn't make the focus on a place far-away and focused on what the average bande living in UK actually needed, spiritual growth, also even when he did speak about Sikh issues; he always made the focus on what we can actually achieve instead of talking about goals that average Sikh likely can't achieve. If tomorrow someone wanted to learn about Jesus Christ or Muhammad, they could do so in pretty much every language with people from every ethnic group, but if tomorrow we want to learn about Guru Sahib, our only options are in Punjabi and only recently English, otherwise we just learn "Someone born in Talwandi and who traveled a lot as a good man".
  18. People used to swear allegiances to the ruler of British Raj in front of Maharaj, it doesn't mean it's the right type of promises.
  19. I don't think transgenderism was popular during Porus time, it likely came from non-punjabi influence.
  20. That was hard to watch, it's easier to accept backwas from others than from our own.
  21. Sounds like a Gora/Kallah or Isai problem.
  22. Even if alcohol is completely banned and no Hindus, Sikhs, or Muslims drink alcohol in Punjab, this slavery would still exist because of profits and maya; we need to give punishments for slavers.
