  1. I've just received confirmation this is true! I am absolutely disgusted!!! Are we now to assume that Sikh Channel are siding with the Dudley Committee over the panth? I'm certain there is no barring of any of the Dudley Committee or any other prabandhaks that server meat/alcohol on Gurdwara premises, but there is for Gursikhs who stand up for truth and stand up for the panth! Shame on you Sikh Channel!!!
  2. If this is true...then that is just bag out of order! Can anyone verify if this is true?
  3. One who believes that Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee is Satguru (a Pooran Guru) knows your statement is false. Only one who has shanka/doubt on Guru Granth Sahib Jee and does not believe Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee to be Satguru (a pooran Guru) can make such a statement! No one can destroy the Khalsa...Guru Sahib will always send his sevaks to do rakhvalee of the panth.
  4. That nights attempt at covering the 1984 rally was just ridiculous...i agree, what are Sikh Channel playing at!
  5. Definitely more English speaking in Trafalgar square. The demographics of those attending is changing year on year with this year having the most amount of youth attendance...amny are new to Sikhi and don't always have a firm grasp of Panjabi. So while majority can speak alittle bit of Panjabi but not enough to grasp a detailed talk in Panjabi. I spoke to alot of the youth and they felt that they didn't really understand what was said but had come to the rally to learn about what happened. So when thinking about reaching out to the non-Sikhs by having speeches in English...pls don't forget our own youth who too require English speeches and they too are coming to learn. Overall...yesterday was amazing!!
  6. This one shows some different pics to those in Paneer Monsters link http://www.demotix.com/news/717708/sikhs-london-remember-1984-golden-temple-massacre-london
  7. Ramdev on Astha TV about 3yrs back categorically said that Buddhists, Jain & Sikhs are all Hindu! I wish i had recorded it!
  8. According to Tarlochan Singh (Chairman of NCM) on Sangat TV today just that - he said we should only refer to the attack on Sri Harmandar Sahib (attack on Sikhi) in 1984 as a Ghallughara/Genocide!
  9. I agree with Singhballer!!! Using Hindu in our slogans makes us out to be anti-Hindu...so its best to stay away from such slogans. Also, i really like the idea by West London Singh about the Union Jack! Alot of passerby's don't actually read our signs or actually listen to our chants and make an automatic perception that we're another extremist group that hates the UK and want to blow up the west. By having Union Jacks on boards and flags automatically shows the common man that we are patriotic, proud to be British and no threat to UK and more importantly (as West London Singh said)...this in itself is half the battle won when trying to raise awareness to the UK public! We as a community are not very savvy when it comes to marketing but the Union Jack idea is definitely an excellent idea!
  10. 100% agree with you darknight...the Gurdwara committee are to be solely blamed for this all - its really shocking to know what lengths these masands are prepared to go! But Guru jee see's all!!!
  11. I watched the Dudley Protest show on Sikh Channel last night at 9.30pm...now while the Gursikhs in the Studio correctly stated what occurred on the day and they did so very well but the only video's shown by Sikh Channel showed a very one sided account of the day...the videso were very aggressive and confrontational...why was the other side not shown (Simran/Jaap)? Yes a few moments were shown where simran was done but the complete focus of the videos was on the few outburst alone! I've received numerous calls from mone friends/family saying that the protest was wrong as all the youth were acting like thugs and rampaging - this was all based on what was shown on Sikh Channel - had Sikh Channel remained unbiased in the videos they showed then i'm certain that the calls i received would have been different. Only after i told my friends/family about what truly happend...only then they understood! Now i was there all day and can categorically say that there were just a few outburst but overall it remained a very peaceful protest! This was not shown at all by the Sikh Channel. This video below on facebook shows how the sangat peacefully did simran for hours upone hours...but did the Sikh Channel show this? NO...why NOT? Sikh Channel have a duty to also show the Naam Simran and Gurbani jaap that took place for hours upon hours...and not just focus on the few moments of outburst. I personally was very dishearted having watched the show as it portrayed us all as thugs...well done Sikh Channel! What can we expect from western media, when our own media did not portray the day accurately?
  12. Satkaar is a UK based organisation and is dealing with UK based beadbee. While Dudley & Grays Gurdwara can be considered as small Gurdwarae for UK but i wouldn't call Ramgharia Gurdwara Graham Street a small Gurdwara at all...so your statement is incorrect!
  13. If you don't agree with the Hukamnama's issued by Sri Akhal Takhat Sahib or even the Sikh Rehit Maryada, as a Sikh you are more than entitled to take ur issues up with the Jathedaar Sahib's - so use the appropriate channels...that is if you really care! Back to the topic at hand...congrats to the Satkaar Sevadaars for their tireless work! Har Maidan Fateh!
  14. I think it was the right decision to cancel the protest because without the party then the likelihood of the committee even attending the Gurdwara at that time was is very low. More importantly, i'm glad the Satkaar sevadaars let everyone know that the party at the hall got cancelled else had we all attended and found out afterwards that Satkaar knew, then sangat would have become angry and most likely may not have come to any future protests...so thankyou to Satkaar for their transparency in this all! Its good that the family changed their minds and it just shows how powerful the Sikh Media Channels actually are! Also, its definitely important that we don't become complacent as the morcha against the party hall at the Dudley Gurdwara is still on!
  15. bhai Sahib, i can't seem to locate the following pangtee from Rehraas Sahib in gurbani (its near the begining of Reharaas Sahib): "dooja kahe simareeai jame te mar jai, eko simro nanaka jal thal rahia samai" it doesn't appear to be from Sri Guru Gran Sahib Jee as i've searched both Sikhi To the Max & Gurbani Anywhere...any help?
  16. This video completely clarifies that meat and sharab cannot be served in the Gurdwara or any Gurdara owned/affiliated building. If Ramgharia Gurdwara Graham Street are trying to go back on their own words and are thinking to allow parties (with or without meat/sharab) then they need to realise that this is just unacceptable and against Gurmat and the vidoe clarifies this! This also applies to Dudley Gurdwara and all the Gurdwarae too!
  17. http://thelinkpaper.ca/?p=6725 SURREY – Local film company BR Dhillon Productions has launched the film Sant Sipahi, which is inspired by Sikh militant and revolutionary Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and will use actual footage of the late Sikh leader whom many consider a martyr. In March 1984, Punjab filmmaker Sukhwant Dhadda shot extensive footage of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on 16 mm as an assignment for BBC, because of operation Blue Star that film could not be completed, but footage remained with him ever since. Now that footage will become the integral part of the film Sant Sipahi. The film is based on the teachings of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. When all efforts to resolve a problem peacefully or through dialogue fail, then it becomes the moral duty of a valiant person to pick up the sword and fight against injustice and oppression. The shooting of the film has already begun on 18th April 2011 and will be ready for release by Nov 2011. The film is Produced by Gurdeep Dhillon, Directed by Sukhwant Dhadda ,Music by Issac Thomas and presented by BR Dhillon Production Ltd a Vancouver based Canadian company.
  18. This is a direct attack on Sikhi by these masands! It is the duty of all Sikhs young & old to show their support in numbers next Saturday and let it be known that this type of beadbee will no longer be tolerated anywhere in the UK. A huge bentee to everyone out there...please ensure you attend in large numbers!
  19. No one in their right mind can ever say that someone who is not of Punjabi background is not a True Amritdhari!!! Who can be a better Amritdhari than the original Panj Pyare...of whom Bhai Himmat Singh Ji, Bhai Mohkam Singh Ji & Sahib Singh Ji were all Non-Punjabi. Bhai Himmat Singh Ji was from Jagaanaath Puri Bhai Mohkam Singh Ji was from Dwarka (Gujrat) Bhai Sahib Singh Ji was from Bidar
  20. Sounds very good...please keep us posted on ur progress...dhanvaad!
