  1. lol the ex-president was asking me who this Niddar geeza is and u saying they follow him?
  2. lol kaur plz stop trying 2 be difficult Congrats btw
  3. when he commented about "cowards" and "brave" i dont know about anyone else.. but i felt... :S confused I can't understand the concept of us being cowards and them being brave... i just..can't.. hmm too much reading Sikh History i suppose..
  4. lol Going to the issue of Guy waling infront.. Guy gives girl palla - it's his duty. However, it is up to the GIRL if she wants to hold the palla or not. In that respect, women are given a higher status.. because they have a choice in this matter. Husband's duty is to always offer support for his wife, whereas the wife is under her own choice to have this support hmm i really don't know what to say? Somehow... i dunno.. Guru Ji propagated that meditation can happen in a Grehast jeevan and that u dont have to run away to the forest to get mukti.. No-one is arguing if we should marry or not.. Oh yeah and we do practise it at home and I look forward to practising this equality with my wifey Anywho back to exam revision lol
  5. Chek out the islam or hinduism one its a weird site.. but even then Sikhi isnt really insulted.. they kinda softon us for some reason.. challo... Sikhism is cool eh
  6. Then stop doing Simran....i don't want you to become a Aurangzeb in your next life.... :vaheguru: lol thats not a really mature response my veer.. Dont forget Ravana also did alot of tap... come to think of it so did Harnaakash to get his boons! It is hard to control the power you have after you have recieved them from Akaal Purakh. They got what they wanted, but mukti was a stage too far for them..
  7. sorry to go off topic but Aurangzeb was a Tappi who did Tap in his previous life! In my views a Sikh is a learner. Just like a year 2 kid can be a student as well as some in year 12. Just different levels.
  8. well so are the ridhia sidhia, nau nidhia, chaar padaarath, trilok, and even the aadi biaadi upaadi It's all vedic philosophy.. doesnt mean it's wrong.. Rajo Tamo Sato, i've been taught that the chautha padh is above these 3 gun (qualities) ie: Akaal Purakh himself. The world itself is shaped by Rajo Tamo and Sato! Satogun creates, Rajogun preserves, Tamogun destroys.. Akaal Purakh created these 3 guns to govern the Universe 1 Maya was created.. and out of it came 3 guns. However, the irony is.. that these 3 guns, although created by akaal purakh and under his comand, can't track you back to Him! (Japji Sahib)
  9. Indeed the pandit is right!! The Kara does wonders that any outsider would call mad! 1 taking on 125,000 is madness!!
  10. The whole of the Charitropakhyan as I understand it: (VERY VERY VERY CONDENSED) A King married a beautiful woman, who bore him a son.. and she died. But by the coincidence of nature, the king ended up finding a woman who looked exactly like her. He fought for her and married her.. But she was a bit chalaak. She made the young son learn from a Bhramin who was instructed to teach a life of no speaking (you'll see why) After his "graduation" frm the Bhramin Uni, the step-mother went to him and started to offer her body to him. After some convincing he agreed, and with disgust the step-mother went to the King and complained - Since she was only pretending with the son. The son could not say anything as he was disciplined to be mute (you see now?). The King was furious (obviously) and sent his son to prison! Now the King's advisors are with him as he calls his son into the court. These advisors are trying to convince the King that some women should not be trusted and his son is innocent.. and this is how they narrate each Charitra in order to convince the King.. and that I feel is the background of CharitroPakhyan as narrated by Guru Ji.
  11. Bruv, there's only one way to know when Guru Sahib has his kirpa and rehmat on you.. The physical form of Guru Ji's kirpa is the attraction towards katha keertan. That's the proof if you have got kirpa or not. The rest is Karam. Instead of focussing on the Karam (actions) we Agiaanis focus on the Phal (fruits) and then lose focus on karam and fail! Fer assi complain vee baut karde ah! karam is as sensitive as milk - put in the wrong pot and it goes bad... keep it in wrong temperature it goes bad.. Focus on the Karam rather than Phal. Phal is under Akaal Purakh's Hukam, whereas Karam is under your control. Why focus on something that is out of your control?
  12. Fluently: English Punjabi Hindi Urdu A bit: french cantonese baby language
  13. PS: sorry didnt bother writing it up properly b4.. i was kinda stressd anywho: There are 3 types of illnesses aadi - arising from inside, like stress, mental illness, etc biaadi - arising from body.. well anything illness u can see like bikhaar, painful joints etc upaadi - arising from outer influences.. the environment, like bad sangat I hope that helped
  14. pain can arise from 3 places aadi - soul biaadi - body upaadi - from outside
  15. dude its used for recovering heroine addicts. It's a medical way of weaning off the addiction.
  16. They can represent the different elements: Black - Wind - Pavan ie: Giaan Blue - Sky ie: like the sky covers everything whether a begger or a king, a sikh should treat everyone the same regardless of social status Orange - Earth ie: like the earth is able to withstand the burden of everyhting on it, a sikh should be able to sacrifice White - Water ie: Calmness Red = Fire ie: destroy everything
  17. Yes, I weep every night into my pillow because of it. It is a really good article and the only thing you mentioned was the thing you disagreed with.. Btw do you get a warning too for attacking me? lol at her best talikhaak no need to make this personal.. it wa a general comment which i kinda agree with as well
  18. Sorri just wanted to add a lil bit. When Guru Ji talks about "Charan Kamal" what does it mean? Charan mean feet. Shabad Guru can be seen as Akaal Purakh's feet. How? Simply speaking, your feet take you to where your "man" tells you to go. Therefore, your feet are you man's vaachak. Likewise, Shabad Guru is Akaal Purakh's vaachak therefore is a saadhan to get to Akaal Purakh. Now we are left with the Kamal bit. Kamal means lotus. Just like the lotus flower is within muddy waters, yet separate from it.. Shabad Guru has the qualites of maya (can be seen, touched.. has a colour and shape etc) yet is above all the effects of Maya (ie: above any manipulation, since shabad guru is the jyot within the writing). Using this definition, it doesn't matter if Shabad Guru is written in ink, gold, silver, biro! Shabad Guru, Surat Dhun Chela. Regarding the quick reference to Chaur Sahib, Ramalle etc: This is Sargun pooja: Physically showing your sharda for Guru Ji - nothing wrong with that.
  19. lol ppl can think what they like abt the person and argue if the glass is half full or half empty ..me... ill go have a listen.. and drink that water instead
  20. Some scientists go as far as saying we bred them out by diluting their gene pool!
  21. this might sound odd.. but I felt depending on others for Sikhi is a bit like using a slingshot to propell a stone forward. The slingshot will help u get so far, however, the stone will eventually need to let go off the slingshot to achieve its true distance through the sky. I hope that made sense :6
  22. Pehla Paani Jeeo Hai, Jit Harriya Sabh Koe Yes maybe taking it out of context blah blah - Guru Ji has used it to explain how people shouldnt be pakhandi about soochum etc - but the point i'm trying to make is even Guru ji has said that beings have evolved from water.. which is inline with evolution. Look at it this way Khalsa81, isn't evolution on a much smaller scale of time as well? Ie: humans from 100s of years ago would be different from the average human of today. Anything natural has the ability to adapt - just likes humans adapted to have darker skins in hot areas and lighter skin in cooler areas of the world.. it can be applied to apes "adapting" into humans no?
