  2. waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh ive had my head ripped off for this already, so please try not to be too blunt. basically, i keep falling asleep whilst doing nitnem. i nod off for a couple of seconds, realise what has happened and then usually slap myself a couple of times to wake up. i have no idea what is going wrong. ive taken a lot of advice from Gursikhs, such as always go to sleep early, dont eat for a few hours before you go to sleep, drink tons of water so you always need to get up, have cold ishnaan including kesh, always do kirtan sohila before sleeping, and most importantly ardaas every night!! doing benti to guru sahib to get me up and keep me awake. the problem isnt getting up, its staying up! before starting nitnem, i yawn like a billion times, and then whilst im doing nitnem i just drift off. i realise that ive stopped reciting gurbani n its gone quiet, so i pull myself out of sleep. this is silly, Guru Sahibs kirpa, amritvela has been going for a couple of years, but i just get more and more exhausted!! some people have said that...maybe im not getting enough sleep but i know i am!! and im not getting too much either. 5 hours is good enough for me. ive tried more sleep and less sleep, i just feel worse. 5 hours is my 'optimum' level of sleep. i dont have any medical conditions, im not anaemic or anything...i try to eat healthily and exercise daily. what am i doing wrong?? im so angry at myself, how can i get rid of the tiredness? waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh.

  5. so glad you brought this up. ive been wondering why we are all soul brides and Waheguru is the husband Lord? this basically unifies all of us under one gender (spiritually-doesnt it?) coz obviously were nothing compared to Waheguru, so the bride is like nothing compared to the husband probably too deep for me to understand...is this all just symbolism??

  11. hahahahahahaha this thread is hilarioussssssssssssssssssssssssss i got one, dunno if youll find it that funny... when i was little we always used to have problems finding each other at the gurdwara i would go with my brother and mum, and we'd do our own thing, n then when mum wanted to go home, she'd call me to get my bro so this one time, mum sed she wanted to go home so i was looking for my bro everywhereee and i couldnt find him and i was really really annoyed and angry by this time coz mum was having a go at ME! so i went downstairs n saw my bro by the cups where you give out water n stuff n he had his back to me, so i went up behind him, thumped him really hard on the back n sed 'oi fat <admin-profanity filter activated>, you been eating all this time? mums gonna slap you silly.' and this massive singh turned round, with such a shocked expression on his face, looking at me like...sorry do i know you? it wasnt even my bro! man that was some scaryyyyyyyyyyyyyy singh, i nearly wet myself, just mumbled an apology and legged it!

  13. waheguruuuu! thats amazing, never read that shabad before. 'Although you have forgotten God, God has not forgotten you' P.S Admin- could you put a capital A on the word Amritvela in the title please? its really bugging me... thanks!
  14. waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh. im hoping that each person that replies to this can come up with a different reason as to why we should get up for amritvela each morning. hopefully it can help people who may have trouble sometimes (ME!! ) ill start... we should get up for amritvela because the purpose of this life is to jap naam and without doing so, we cannot be called Sikhs of our Guru. gur sathigur kaa jo sikh akhaaeae s bhalakae out(h) har naam dhhiaavai || One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name. bhul chuk maaf... waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh!
  15. ive just noticed, it says pitch(volume). so which does the writer mean, coz pitch and volume are different. hmmm, not sure coz if u read bhai sahibs autobiography, he talks about how they used to do nitnem together in their cells, and how the Gurbani would be recited in a shrill or high pitched voice. im really sorry, i dont mean to be narrow minded or pick at little things, but this is a genuine question, im just curious.
  16. waheguru that was amazing, but i have a question why is this? what is the significance of reading Gurbani in a high pitched vioce? does it make the Gurbani easier to pronouce/understand? does the sound have more of an effect on the reader/listener? how does reading Gurbani in a high pitched voice differ from reading in a low pitched voice? thats a lot of questions, but someone must know why!
  17. if a person converts you are not just losing a 'bad apple.' think about the children of the bad apple, and their children, and their grandchildren etc you will be losing an ENTIRE GENERATION!!!! can we REALLY afford that?!?!?! p.s Guru Sahib can rejuvinate the bad apples

    Hi5?

how can u be so rude!! if you dont like someones opinion then please try to explain this to them respectfully, dont use derrogatory terms and sarcasm to try and get through to people...it doesnt work! just creates hate i agree with you bhaji, n i dont think you're going over the top. there are always going to be people who say its ok. if ur serious about ur jeevan stay away, coz its all just maya, it wont get you anywhere spiritually. if people think they're strong enough to join up to hi5 and not get sucked in, then thats fine, their decision. singhneeeee power! lol i jus wanna add, people are using the excuse of sangat. if u want sangat go to a rehnsbai or gurdwara. then again i know there are people who have no sangat near them so...havent got an answer to that. bhul chuk maaf karo ji, didnt mean to upset anyone waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh!!
  19. waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh fantastic idea bhaji. maybe you should begin by having it for a few hours a day, so start with like ten hours or so (split them up maybe? morn, midday, eve) and gradually increase as more people contribute you should also try to get some funding, not sure how but it would help!! waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh!
  20. sorry bhaji, i didnt make myself clear. this would not include namdharies. they believe in the continuation of Guru lineage in human form. what happened to 'Guru Maneyo Granth.'
  21. Ekta applies to any jatha which follows Gurmat, and accepts Dhan Dhan Siri Guru Granth Sahib Jee Maharaaj as their Guru.
  22. waheguru jee ka khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh. please please dont get angry. i asked someone this question already and i got my head bit off...so now im asking you guys. i dont want to be small minded or anything, but this is a GENUINE question, and i want to know the answer. i was just wondering is it ok to take crutches into darbaar sahib? if you broke your leg or something, you'd need crutches to walk (duh) but they gather so much dirt etc on them. would they need to be washed before entering darbaar sahib? plaster cast can be a bit unhygienic too. thankyou waheguru jee kaa khalsa, waheguru jee kee fateh
