Have you forgotten those days, when you were hanging, face down, for ten months? ||1||Pause|| 10 months??? isn't it 9 months???????? i have read few people pointing out this thing...can sumone please clarify?????
  2. It's just another manmat........there's manmat in almost every aspect of life today ........nd man found another way to be rebillious against the lord as he normally does .......typical of man......shame!!!!! (hope i make sense)
  3. "ONE" of the reasons y they suspect so much at amritsar airport is coz many punjabis who go abroad on fake visas and fake passports board planes frm amritsar. But this might be just one of the reasons rest we all know how indian govt and most ppl outside punjab see us : as "aatankvadis"
  4. Might be like Gurdas Mann's "Shaheed E Mohabaat -Boota Singh"
  5. It's been happening frm long buh none seems bothered. I saw film "veer zara" where shah rukh khan played role of a punjabi sikh guy named veer partap singh. he was shown wearing kara and khanda in film buh he was addressed as hindu in some scenes. Another step forward, now bollywood is all geared up to show panjabi culture as a hindu culture as in most of the films punjabi roles have hindu names whereas the qualities shown are that practiced by sikhs like bhangra, the style of speaking panjabi, the daring nature, visiting gurdwaras e.t.c whereas most of hindus in panjab are uncharateristic panjabi.... they are a bunch of jokas speaking hin-jabi (hindi panjabi mixed) and are cowards with no pride or self esteem .
  6. Lolz ...it seems sikhs are quite shy......i thought i was the only one ...... i am here in london from last 2 yrs and have no sikh friend though i've been to many sikh smagms buh i am too shy to start a convo....in fact just one from sikh sangat buh we hardly chat ...... most of ma mates are muslims buh waheguru has given me great young cousins who are chardi kala gursikhs(tho i m not) and a great company and all my visits at their place have been great learning experiences. Sangat makes a big big difference. Gursikhs are a great company.
  7. I would advise youngsters to visit punjab and follow the lifestyle ....how mingling freely wiv opposite sex is considered bad. Here is western society gursikhs have are also western and hence obviously problems have to be typical of western kind. I found really wierd when i saw gursikh bibiaan's profiles posted on hi5. Gursikhs should try and follow the footsteps of our puratan gursikhs who did not have such distractions in their lives ....and such gursikhs are here also in u.k.
  8. I didn't sleep whole night ..watched entire match though it ended at 10:30 in morning after having started at 2:30 just kept praying for monty throughout though i was a bit disappointed that he couldn't take any of the last two wickets but still his bowling figures were far more than impressive. It was a delight to watch him. things became interesting right from the time news spread that this guy was playing. You could see the attention he was getting from media. Now and again camera focussed monty and he was always smiling, buzzing wiv confidence and raring to go commentators were amazed by his energy levels and the energy that his inclusion had brought into the team. And things became more interesting when he started bowling ...first over on the spot - a maiden, and a wicket off the very first ball of next over which brought end to the first session. And that sent signals that the first day was poised for some exciting cricket as monty -the montster, or montyt -he montastic had found his rhythm. His mistimed jumps and all missed hi fives have become a trademark celebration and commentators never forget to mention this. And not to forget the tremendous pressure that he had on him as everyone was pushing for his inclusion, got nominated as finalist of sportperson of the year, petition being signed for his inclusion and tempers rising among former cricketers. All the former legendary cricketers like ian botham, bob willis, rodney marsh, nasser hussain, michael atherton, were very unhappy and critical of coach duncan fletcher regarding his exclusion. Ian botham even went on to describe coach duncan fletcher as "pig headed" for ommitting monty. The people just love him. Even australian media was supporting him and wanted him to play and asking english team management to get this guy in.After monty took five wickets and australian innings folded former australian batsman and current commentator said "spectators at waca (western australia cricket association ground) have fell in love with this guy" considering just few weeks back he was subjected to racial abuse. How quickly things change. But one thing is for sure monty wins hearts more than anything else.... maywaheguru bless him.
  9. Pakistani movies are made by muslims and u cant expect anything better from muslims than praising their religion and subsequently converting to it. That's their evil islamic mentality.
  10. Y don't u guys and post some strong and meaningful replies there.Would be beneficial.
  11. When u read the bani and try to understand it i feel it is very different than any other knowledge contained in the books. it is about the kartar, the rahim, the waheguru, the ik onkar........the bani is the ultimate guru that leads to wahegurunot the saroop. The saroop deserves respect like doing namaskar, being covered in rumalas , being placed in palki but going too far like wrapping in blankets, putting ac's on, sukhasan e.t.c or treating it like a human is not good. It's like idol worship. I think brahmanism has creeped ino us and we are getting engaged in false rituals for ex..praying to photos of gurujis, going to samadhs of shaheed singhs......i feel we should mend our ways b4 we get labelled as idol worshippers especially with sikhi going global. If we lay guruji to sleep, wake up, put ac's, wrap in blankets why don't we give guruji a bath in the morning? Doesn't a body need a shower?
  12. True they are cultural differences ....but all differences can be eliminated by a strong relation that we have...the relation of common faith that's why i emphasised on panthic tv channel which would help impart sikhi message and strengthen the bond of brotherhood among sikhs and if not whole world at least sikhs can discover what their religion is all about and how should their dealings should be with the humans (sikhs or non sikhs)
  13. We desperately need a panthic tv channel for right kind of parchar of sikhi which can act as a common platform for sikhs to air thier views across the globe and can be used to strengthen khalsa brotherhood. This way sikhs from various communities or countries can be united through media or can have common view otherwise majority of the community will be divided, confused and goal-less for many decades to come.
  14. You are right as well as wrong. Anything done out of LOVE is important and helps. Anything done just out of fear or ritualism is wrong and affects u in a wrong way. Remember, its doesn't matter what u do, the only thing which matters is ur intention and purity. I have also seen that most people do these things out of fear and ego. But there may be some fotunates one whose LOVE guides their actions. I hope I made some sense. Paaji i understand what u say but look at muslims how much sharda they have towards their holy place that they pray towards only in one directon i.e facing kabba some even exceed that and don't construct toilets in that direction..... fast for a month on the name of god, go to hajj pilgrimage with a lot of sharda, they even cut the meat that they eat by reading kalamas and call it halal, they kill goat out of sharda and call it a sacrifice.....but at the end of the day no matter wiv how much sharda they are done they are no more than false and meaningless rituals look at hindus how much sharda they have towards their dieties that some people keep repeatedly hitting their head at feet of their mata, feed milk to statues, worship lingams of shiva, go for a 'holy' dip in the polluted ganga water, consider various days, plants, colours, stones as lucky, consider cow as their mata, eat cow dung, drink pi$$ but are these right to do even if thet are out of sharda????? keeping false beliefs and performing false rituals (no matter out of how much love and devotion they are) prohibited in sikhi. There is no such allowance to sikhs to do any ritual only if it is from sharda. sikhs are totally prohibited as far as i know. hope my views make a little sense
  15. "Guru grsnth ji msneyo psrgst gurs ki deh" Does it actually mean to treat guru granth sahib ji as a body in general or: is it an order of guru gobind singh ji to read bani and follow it by assuming that gurus are commanding us by being pargat themselves. I am really confused coz all the practices that we follow actually contradict the ideology guru nanak patshah.
  16. I have heard different versions from different people. My honest viewes are : When we say "guru granth sahib" this clearly nullifies the point that guru is a person or a human, our guru is actually "granth" sahib or the bani contained in granth and granth means a book not a living body. But ironically we are going too far and are actually treating guru sahib more as a living human by doing things like sukhaasan, putting in fans and air conditioners in guruji's room or wrapping in blankets e.t.c which to me seem useless like brahmanical practices and means we are treating our most respectable and beloved guru like a respeactable human body which it is not. I feel it is actually a word of god which has to be respected, recited, understood and followed and not to be placed in an air conditioned rooms or wrapped in blankets. I heard that when we bow in front of guru granth sahib we are actually bowing in front of the bani which is our guru as gurbani says: "bani guru guru hai bani vich bani amrit saare, gurbani kahey sewak jan maane partakh guru nistaare" I think by treating guru granth sahib ji as living guru we are actually doing idol worship. But these are just my views at the moment and i know i am a moorakh and it's very likely i might be terribly wrong but i would like someone to kindly correct me. Bhul chuk maaf
  17. I've heard the quote from sant ji .....all i want to know is the about the "ruling or the judgement" that sant ji was reffering to. It can be mighty useful for us as providing reference in our arguments.
  18. I heard Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindanwale once saying in a speech referring to the topic that sikhs are not hindus. He said (i don't remember clearly but somewhere near) that a decision has been passed (might be after a study) in uk saying that sikhs are not only a different religion but a different breed (nassal). Does anyone have any knowledge about this quote?
  19. :D Ditto Khalsa ji's approach is the problem. Can't think of puratan singhs having gf's. Girlfriend in the first place was wrong ....nd now if u have one better to stick wiv her.
  20. There is nuffin controversial here... it's beenmade controversial by our so called scholars. We are banned to eat kuttha which is any form of meat not 'abhakhya da kuttha' which is of religious type ...termed as kosher or halal (which actually it isn't) http://akj.org/skins/default/books.php?ch=...d=3&start=4
  21. Yeah he's about 38 and still going great guns. Great cricketer but not a good husband. A controversial figure off the field.
  22. I saw him labelled as sikh scholar in documentary "storming the temple" on history channel. He was talking $hit about sant bhindranwale, on how he became a famous figure. Actually he tries to be honest as he says that sikh are actually hindus. How can he be a sikh scholar when he can't pick up a basic fact that sikh ideology is far different from that of aryans (hindus), i doubt if he is a proper sikh (amritdhaari) himself, i doubt if he has thoroughly analysed all or some of the major sikh scriptures including Dhan dhan sri guru granth sahib ji coz if he had done that he would not have made such a foolish statement..... in fact thing is that he is one of the best writers in india and is a sikh. And just coz he has penned down a few books on sikhism media has blindly termed him as a sikh scholar. Even the documentary by history channel had a lot of flaws not coz they didn't match my views but coz they didn't seem to take out enough time to analyse sant ji's speeches before jumping to their own conclisions and holding him responsible for violation in amritsar and demanding khalistan.
  23. This is nothing .....that's the pre ashes banter .... there will be more to come when the ashes begins and there will be drunk kangaroos shouting at monty on boundary ..... this is expected from kangaroos even their players and officials are racist ...... A few incidents: Cricket fans might remember the 5 match ban on darren lehmann for shouting racial abuse on srilankans after getting out Darrel hair the disgraced australian umpire has a long history of racism against asians Dean jones' (former australian batsman and now commentator) on-air racial slur against hashim amla (south african batsman wiv indian roots) sorry folks for a moment i forgot that it's a sikhi site.... it's better i shut up now
