The TV is full of these so-called moderate Muslims sprouting this lie and claiming such other nonsense as Mohammed was a mercy to mankind every time their is a Muslim terrorist attack. Either these people are liars and know full well that they are spreading lies to disarm non-Muslims or they are in denial and because they have been born into their religion they cannot tell the truth that they and their ancestors have been fooled into remaining in a religion that has brought so much evil to this world.

It has never been the case that a whole population of a particular ideology has to be involved in violence for that ideology to be considered dangerous and violent. Islam is akin to both Nazism and Communism and has even been likened to the Mafia. It is well nigh physically impossible for 1.2 billion Muslims to suddenly arm themselves and start attacking non-Muslims around them and thus prove that Islam is the evil religion that it. For one there are no enough weapons in the world to arm every Muslim. For another not everyone single Muslim has a hard heart which one requires to follow Islam to its logical conclusion and attack non-Muslims. Millions of Muslims pay lip service to their faith and pick and choose which part they want to follow. For these Muslims they accept the very few positives aspects of Islam and ignore the negative aspects of Islam. However, they know enough to not criticise those Muslims who follow Islam in all its aspects such as Al Qaeda and ISIS. Not all the Nazis were murderers, only a small percentage were responsible for the atrocities in the concentration camps but the rest were supportive of these atrocities. Not all communists physically took part in the atrocities of Stalin against his people or Mao's cultural revolution. Yet in both countries millions were killed in the name of communism. No one ever claims that because not all Nazis took part in the crimes of Hitler, it means that Nazism has been hijacked by extremists and Nazism is an ideology of peace! What I find surprising is that my fellow Sikhs who appear to have swallowed the ultra PC line that Islam is a religion of peace and that it has been hijacked by extremists. Don't we see the pictures of the martyrs of the 18th century in our Gurdwaras and how horribly they were killed and all of which is completely in line with the teachings of Islam. Seeking to live a life of self respect in a Muslim state is seen as an act of defiance against Islam and as such is dealt with by violence. Aurangzeb, Mir Mannu and Abdali were not extremists who had hijacked Islam, they were the Al Qaeda and ISIS of their day. Behind them were millions of Punjabi Muslims who while they did not actively join with these tyrants, yet they still sympathised with their actions. The fact that ordinary Muslims also suffered due to the invasions of Abdali does not prove that Abdali who not acting in accord with Islam. Islam like any other totalitarian ideology in the end is more destructive to those who follow it than to those who do not. Look at the violence in every Muslim country, Muslims are killing Muslims at a much higher rate than they are killing non-Muslims but that does not mean that Islam is not a threat to non-Muslims. Here is something interesting. The Khalsa goes against every rule that Islam has imposed on non-Muslims within an Islamic state. The Khalsa refused to pay Jizya to the Mughal state and later to Abdali. This act is always seen as a gross defiance of Islamic authority and something which is seen as unacceptable. The Jizya is paid as confirmation of subjugation of non-Muslims and when it is paid there is usually a symbolic act such as a slap given to the non-Muslim so that he feels himself subdued. Therefore if we accept that Islam is a legitimate religion then we also have to accept that non-Muslim deserve to pay Jizya and also be made to feel that they are subjugated. Non-Muslims are not allowed to build any NEW places of worship but they can renovate any old places of worship. This would have meant that Sikhs would not have been allowed to build any new Gurdwaras in Punjab. Thus why the Khalsa would always been in conflict with the Islamic state. Non-Muslims are also not allowed to place any religious symbols outside their homes or places of worship. Now consider what the Nishan Sahib is! Non-Muslims should not congregate on the streets and should go to their places of worship quietly. Nagar Kirtan anyone? Muslims are forbidden to address non-Muslims with any title which may convey honour on the non-Muslims. What is the title that we Sikhs go by? Sardarji! Majority of Muslims in India address Sikhs as Sardarji and when referring to a group of Sikhs will not say Sikhs but Sardars. Non-Muslims also should not be trained in any types of warfare or carry arms on their person. We have Gatka and Kirpan. In an Islamic state Sikhism cannot be practised the way that it has been since the days of the Gurus, Therefore we of all the non-Muslims should be the ones who are against the setting up an Islamic state in any part of the world. .

The parents have every right to say that if he is to stay in their house then he should not cut his hair, If the family do not cut their hair then what's the problem? If the family was Muslim would then they not say that he cannot bring non-halal meat or pork into the house? The guy is staying in their house and if he going to go out every month and get a hair cut or shave every day is that something that a Gursikh family would want to have in their house especially if they have young children that they are trying to raise as Gursikhs. I bet some Sikhs are so ultra-PC then they would want the family to buy him a shaver and drive him to the barbers whenever he wants a haircut!!

So when a few years ago a Jewish organisation for Israel started a 'ghar wapsi' programme for these tribals called Bnei Menashe to bring them back to Judaism, the missionaries complained to the authorities that these acts were anti-national!! Exactly the same charge that the Hindus make against the missionaries converting Hindus to Christianity!

The SGPC should be ashamed that it hasn't even been able to translate the Guru Granth Sahib into any other language and is just content to honour individuals who even having meagre means have translated the Guru Granth Sahib into various languages.

With this Malang fool, I think the reason he hangs around Sikh forums is that he knows at the bottom of his heart that the religion he belongs to is because an ancestor of his at some stage was either raped into Islam if she was a female or converted with a sword to his neck if he was a male. He probably tries to deny this by his make believe fairy tale that his ancestors were converted through some Sufi. Not much of a family history! I agree with the part about the misery that partition caused but the partition was not a bad thing in itself. The only tragedy is that the Sikhs were unable to create their own state and keep their religious shrines in that state. Had the Punjab remained united then where would it have been? Even if the Punjab had become independent it would still have been dominated by Muslims and we all know that no non-Muslim can lead a life of dignity in a Muslim country. We would have been no better than the Christians are in Pakistan now. He probably expected me to console with him and say how bad it was that his family had to leave their homes and move to Pakistan. The problem has been the lack of total mechanisation of the agricultural sector in Punjab. In every country the lack of labour is always made by the mechanisation of agriculture but in Punjab this has been uneven. The farmers in Punjab just about get by and there is no profit in farming unless you are a large farmer. In many villages and even among my relatives back home they have stopped taking land on maamla or theka as it is now so expensive to take land on maamla. It is around 30-35,000 rupees a year and with all the other costs such as labour, fertiliser, water and electricity it makes is uneconomic to take the land on maamla. It looks like the smaller farmer will be forced to just farm the few acres they have and then do other jobs such as transport using their traalay. If there had been a decent government in Punjab, it would have subsidised the mechanisation of farming so that farming could have remained profitable. With regard to Bhayyas, there have been many that have become Sikhs and had it just been that the Bhayya population was just a few lakhs then it would not have made a big impact on the Punjab but because these Bhayyas number over 2 Million now they have managed to stop the Sikhs from increasing their majority in Punjab. Had there been no Bhayya influx into Punjab then the Sikhs would easily have gone from 60% to 70% of the population of Punjab. Because of the Bhayya influx the Sikh majority is under 60% now. Bhayyas offer an opportunity to increase the Sikh population if only there were organisations that were doing parchar among them. As it is, the fact that many Bhayyas have become Sikhs has been due to their coming into contact with the message of Sikhism through the Gurdwaras.

The crazy thing in the story is the in all likelihood the lady did not convert by choice but was forced to convert and hence the reason why she had to be sent to India under the agreement against abducted women between the two governments. What that lady suffered in Pakistan was no different to what lakhs of others suffered and what the Yazidis are suffering today.

Only some SGPC members in a personal capacity are working with the Ghar Wapsi scheme. This scheme should have been started by Sikhs with the aim to bring back any Sikhs who had converted to any other religion. In the past it was mostly the Hindu dalits that were targeted by the missionaries but nowadays the Sikh dalits are the one who are targeted. It is these Christians that are then becoming Sikhs, The ones who were Hindus before they became Christians are returning to Hinduism. It is a sad fact that the RSS can claim to bring back 8000 Christians back to Sikhi and our organisations have not done anything similar in this regard. Attack is the best form of defence, the Sikh organisations should be targeting even those Christians whose ancestors were converted in the 19th century. When the missionaries see that these Christians are being converted then they will rethink their activities.
