  9. This is disgusting!!! Its a shame we don't have any political bodies/pressure groups set up to deal with such matters. There should be such organisations based in both India and outside to apply maximum pressure.

  15. one thing i would say is to be extremely careful how this is dealt with, i am certain the media would be all too eager to turn this into being something anti-women. we saw this with the ramanand case where it was turned into a caste issue whent caste had nothing to do with it. it must be very clear to all, especially the media that the objection is nothing to do with females. on a side note, its kinda weird how its a big deal that bibia are leading, i thought it was pretty normal...
  16. you wouldn't have the keski very low on the forehead, it can be as high as you can keep it without it losing its stability or making the kirpan fall off. The rest of the head would be cleaned during keshi ishnaan when keski and kanga is kept around the waist. I'll admit that I'm under hukam from panj to do keshi ishnaan everyday but currently don't.
  17. VahegurooJiKaKhalsaVahegurooJiKiFateh Firstly, many congratulations on becoming closer to Guru Sahib. To answer your question, all panj kakkars must be kept on your person at all times, including shower time. Also, my personal belief is that keski is kakaar, therefore it must be kept on the head at all times (except when doing keshi ishnaan, drying and combing in which case it is wrapped around the waist). You can read more about this here: http://tapoban.org/keski.html Even if someone doesn't believe keski is kakkar it should still be kept on at all times because we cannot be tyar bar tyar without it as satkar and order of our kes would not be kept without it. You've got it right, you tie a keski on your head and then you can wrap your gatra with kirpan in it around the keski, I tend to place my kirpan at the front of my head, put the rest of the gatra (like a loop) around my head, then tie a knot in the gatra around the back of the head.

  19. your question/conclusion is based only on the curremt methods. back in panjab in the olden days and im sure everywhere else it was much more humane. there is nothing wrong with milk itself, remember we cannot make parshad without butter therefore dairy is accepted by Guru Sahib, the only issue i can see is such treatment of the cows as described in this thread. that is certainly at odds with sikhi. but milk obtained humanely is 100% fine. I mean ideally khalsa should have its own cows and have them milked by amritdhari gursikhs only, there would be no problem with animal cruelty issues then, i.e. bibek. Hopefully one day the panth will be blessed with this, same for growing of fruits, vegetables, etc. In my opinion this whole thing is a daya issue, I personally do not see it as a kurehit though. I admit its a very difficult situation as we should not be condoning cruelty to any living being and at the same time removing milk from our diet would be quiet a big deal... even as I type this I feel strongly this moral dilemma, I really am exploiting another being for selfish reasons (under the current methods of obtaining milk anyway)... this thread has prompted me to do some research.

  21. In my own humble opinion its a very personal matter, you could ask the giani ji to do ardas for you with yourself present during it and then listen to him read the hukamnama and ask for the ang and remember the raag, mahalla and first line so you can find it again to read/look up aarths. I don't think you need to tell the giani ji what you are asking if you are standing in the ardas yourself, you can ask in your own mind when it comes to that part of the ardas at the end to ask what you want, but you can also see what the gyani ji says before the ardas whether he wants you to tell him or not. Even taking the hukamnama for the day as your own personal hukamnama is fine, In my opinion it would be good if you could be present in the ardas that took place for that hukanmama though. Eg. amritvela ardas. Amritvela is also supposed to be an extra special time to get your ardas answered (listen to: http://www.gurukhoj.com/Kirtan/sbns%209902%20How%20to%20get%20WHATEVER%20you%20want.mp3 )
  22. Its being made out as if sikh channel is the one calling these people and everyone is pointing the finger at them whereas the real issue is what on earth are these people being called to bangla sahib for? It is perfectly reasonable for the channel to expect a major gurdwara sahib such as bangla sahib to have only gurmat prachar, so i would put very little blame on them. Rather lets concentrate on stopping these people getting to our major gurdwaras. No offence but I think its abit irresponsible at a time when the channel is having a funding crisis to bring up issues like this to the public where it could be resolved by contacting them privately. Reason being is unfortunately most people don't bother reading everything and doing their own research and so rumours and half information get spread throughout the community. In my opinion its very important to back the sikh channel and worry about things like this later and not make them into such huge issues. ps.I would like to make it very clear I am 100% against fakes such as kala afgana +co , and all those who question Sikhi, Guru Maharaj, Dasam Granth Sahib Ji and accepted history.
