  1. I heard there are some in Baghdad Iraq. I don't know about community, how that could be sustained in such a hostile region. I know Sikhi has flourished under hostility so I hope there is. Guru Nanak Ji stayed there on his way to Mecca and there is a shrine there as well. Saddam Hussein had actually reconditioned it with the request of a Singh from Dehli. He was most level headed secular ruler (religion wise, I know he committed crimes but those were fueled by absolute power) of that entire region full of zealots. But now I heard it was badly damaged during the war.
  2. I think it's only matter of time before another Sant Bhindranwale ji rises up. Think about all the people he has inspired who will come into their prime, it takes only one with leadership qualities like our last great General. So if Badal thinks he can prevent that with corruption he's delusional.
  3. at the 8sec mark. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=561_1320346027
  4. Well my Chachaji is left wing...back then communist party even. So during the insurgency naturally a bounty was placed on his head as lots of communist party members were targeted. My dad told me it was Shaheed Amrik Singh that put in a good word right to the top of the leadership saying he was a good man, etc. This act preserved his life I believe.
  5. He was a student of my Chachaji at Khalsa College in Amritsar. Infact he probably saved my Chachaji's life.
  6. This is a common misconception. Sikhs of Majha were NEVER hindus. Before Sikhism they practiced ancestor worship.
  7. I for one do not believe this badal is any different than other badals. I believe they intentionally orchestrated this whole charade because badal sr. knows his time is up and people will not be voting him in again. So they bring this "alternative." Clever, and may work.
  8. Of course people in punjab are easily duped. It's an agricultural people, not educated doctors living in villages. Also, you need to stop dividing people by using terms like "caste" "low caste"... there is no such thing as "caste" or "low caste" in Sikhi. We are all equals. There are however various tribes that share a common cultural background. Also in punjab votes are bought. It's a very corrupt land, corrupted by hindustan. Intentionally engineered to be like this. We've all seen what happens when a noble leader rises who looks for Punjabi Sikh interests above all... he gets labelled terrorist and attacked. Until separate state is formed, it will always be like this. One day India will go the way of the former Yugoslavia. It's a matter of when, not if.
  9. Singho lagda sade gandasayan nu jangal laga.
  10. What's up with these Nihangs who claim they're following purataan traditions when they consume bhang parshad??? Is it really some kind of purataan tradition?? I've also heard before that Singh's use to take it before battle because one doesn't feel pain or get tired. I mean absolutely no offense by this and genuinely curious.
  11. I also wonder why muslims in UK/europe are the biggest problem. In Canada and USA they seem pretty docile. I, nor anyone I know, have never had any problems with any muslims acting up like they do in the UK.
  12. This is a pretty big accusation. Do you have any proof of this. I despise the guy, but we can't just make accusations without any proof. Baseless rumors spread like wildfire in Punjabi Sikh culture.
  13. And my apologies for my error in my earlier post. Guru Gobind Singh Ji belonged to the Sodhi clan not Bedi, which was origin of Guru Nanak Ji.
  14. from 118 please refer to the index last link. http://www.sridasam.org/dasam?Action=Page&p=118 http://www.searchgurbani.com/dasam_granth/page/118 http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Bachitar_Natak_index I agree there are ugly undertones that need to be dealt with.. but it certainly isn't a "technical escape" as you put it. DYNASTY and CLAN do not denote CASTE. According to the WEBSTER’S NEW WORLD DICTONAY, the meaning of these three words are as under – CASTE Any of the hereditary classes of a segregated System, based on birth, wealth, trade, status in both religious and social set up of Hindus. DYNASTY A succession of rulers, who are members of the same family. CLAN A group of families claiming descent, from a common ancestor. MOST IMPORTANT TO NOTE - Kshatriyya is the warrior and the ruling caste of Hindus. Suraj Bunse or Raghubunse is Dynasty, to which Rajas Raghu, Aj, Dasrath, Sri Ram Chander, Luv, Kush and their descendents belonged. Baidis and Sodhis are the clans of the Raghubunse Dynasty, NOT CASTES.
  15. Also another thing I would like to add. Show me the even the most full fledged Amritdhari Sikh(s) and look at their family tree, and it will certainly be all marriage unions among people of the same "background"...you will come to realize that this is so deep rooted that it's practically impossible to uproot. We need to debahminize it, that is the only solution. Yet you lokh are still referring to it as "caste" even after my initial post. You who refer to it as caste are are part of the problem and clearly not part of the solution. Furthermore refer to Dasam Granth bani of our 10th guru where he talks about his Bedi clan and the origins of his tribe. Guru ji was clearly capable to distinguish the difference between caste and ethnic tribe that many of you people are having such a hard time to grasp.
  16. Uneducated pendu mentality.. plain and simple. We should all be proud of our ethnic identity, and respect each other as equals.
  17. Also another clarification I think we need to make is these clans are just that... clans. Not castes. Just like you have different arab tribes, kurdish tribes, pashtun tribes.. what we have in punjab is conglomeration of different tribes/clans. And nobody is higher or lesser than anyone else. Only uneducated view it as castes probably because of bahman influence on them.
  18. LOL most nihangs of these days are in no better shape and have little room to talk. Purataan nihangs are a whole different story.
  19. Although funny it's two clips put together. Note the different colour gloves.
  20. http://www.rediff.com/news/2004/mar/04spec.htm another article about how Saddam renovated this very shrine during his rule at the request of a Singh from Dehli.
  21. badal is the traitor who asked that gandhi kutee to attack Harmandir Sahib and you want to make friends with that pappi? enemies from within are more dangerous than external enemies.
  22. so only 2 replies with over 200 views, and one of those was mine. Absolutely pathetic. Puraatan Singhs > these "Sikhs" of today.. what a difference there is. only a handful of real fauji chardi kala Singhs left...rest are only in name.
  23. With stuff like this mark my words it wont be long before khardkus are back.
  24. Please delete if this is a repost. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fBB5CKjl6I Another one of the same incident.
