  1. yes it is kinda stupid, physical apperance shouldnt make any difference, but for nearly all of us it does. would you get married to a girl who was like obese and had three eyes? chances are you wouldnt. even the sikhs amongst us who keep solid rehit and do alot of bhagti, when it comes to marriage they wont accept just anyone. We should accept someone that guru sahib has chosen for us. And look at their jeevan not their looks, but for some reason kaam gets the better of us.
  2. hmm there is a rainsbai kirtan at west bromwich, edward st on the 6th october, in memory of iky singh.
  3. you talk about us not giving guru granth sahib jee respect. so it was ok wen the taksali BURNT SAROOPS of guru granth sahib jee just beucase they didnt contain r**g maala.... thts alot of satkaar HUNA!!??

  6. <<<<<<<<personally.. i dun tink a SINGH has any right to 'bash' bibian who talk about facial hair problems... us 'singhs' don't know how difficult it is to a be a female in todays society, let alone a female with facial hair... its easy for a singh to walk around with khula dara (open beard) buh i's nah so easy for a kaur to walk around with facial hair... especially if i's a case of excessive facial hair...>>>>>>>>> fine i am a singhni. i have facial hair. i say bibia need to toughen up! wats the big deal its hair! who cares, whats guru sahib thinks is alot more important. bibia had ther babies cut PIECE BY PIECE and hung around THEIR NECKS! and we start crying over some beautiful kesh tht guroo sahib has given us! so fed up with 'boo hoo we have to live in society' we shudnt care bout wat society thinks, if we thought of guru jee as much as we did society, we would have clocked it. this maybe my opiniion, but heeras comment is HIS opinion doesnt mean its right.
  7. leh you can all argue and debate until your blue in the face. go and ask your panj paiyre if its ok to go to a club. Guru gobind singh jees khalsa in a club, what a joke?? and who cares if you have an intelligent convo with people in clubs, tht makes it ok?? we wonder why were gettin nower? this is just so sad to read :D come on people you never know wen ur last day is! make every moment count! its no good having the understanding of baani if you cant implement it in your everyday life! go to the gurdwara do keertan, stay out of manmat places such as clubs. forgodsake its funny how the singhs are saying they go but no bibi has sed it. wat wud you do if your younger sister went? why is it any different. you know wat theres not even any point in writing this post, becuase some of you will just tryi to defend yourselves further. vahiguroo...............thte power of maya man............scary....

  10. why would you have to cut your hair
  11. yeh well u make the food urself or ensure that the people who have made ur food have been jappin naam or recitin baani. but its alot better to make ur own food becuase then u know what u wer doin wen ur wer makin ur meal. it also encourages u to do more baani whilst preparin the meal, most bibeki meals take time to preapre rather than shovin sum ready made food in the oven.
  12. You're quite right that an ultimate "bibek" standard is very high. I have read about Singhs who grew their own wheat, washed the grains, ground it themselves and then prepared degh/parshada with this while reciting bani and the people who ate it said it was very special and different. At the same time however to say that if you can't do the maximum, you might as well not do anything at all is pretty ridiculous as well. Bibek is all about doing the best you can. I think it'd be a hard argument to make to suggest that a sub prepared at Subway is just as good and not "much of a diff..." than a meal prepared by a Gursikh reciting gurbani using raw ingredients s/he has purchased from a grocery store. When you purchase something from the grocery store, you can clean it, wash it and prepare it. You can't do the same with a box of cookies. Also, the food prepared by a Gursikh is prepared while reciting gurbani. The other food is not. My point is that while only Satguru jee is the true bibeki, we as Sikhs try our best to do as well as we can given our situation. Preparing food from raw, fresh ingredients in sarbloh while reciting gurbani is certainly a lot different and better than eating food prepared at restaurants by random people. As for the Namdhari restaurant question: I also don't think we should be eating at restaurants, period. But speaking on a purely theoretical level, there is a big difference between a "gora" or a Hindu and a Namdhari or Nirankari or Sacha Sauda follower. I have no problem with the gora or Hindu. They have their own beliefs and they are free to do as they please. On the other hand, the Namdhari or Nirankari is actively saying My Satguru is just a book and saying a human is the "real" Satguru. They are challenging and even mocking the authority of Sri Guru Granth Sahib. I certainly don't want to deal with this sort of a person. But that's my own opinion and others are free to do as their conscience dictates. :WW:
