  1. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Happy Birthday!!! :HP: vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  2. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I agree. Just that I really don't like the idea of saying conflict is the answer to everything!! Diplomacy must ALWAYS prevail, especially when we are dealing with a country like France. If you start attacking people like some have suggested in this forum topic, the blood only fuels more blood... and no offence, but the last thing that Sikhs need is a bad rep. like the Muslims have now. fateh! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  3. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Of course, you are right! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  4. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Yeah, and lets be a little careful proposing 'attacks'. The last thing we need it someone tootin' a sikhi Jihad... @ vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  5. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Yeah, hairspray kinda sucks... I actually use Herbal Essences Gel... it doesn't flake and holds OK. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  6. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Please forgive me if I am wrong, but I think I recall that Guru Gobind Singh Ji had a small gold kirpaan (2 inch blade?), one that he NEVER used (it was purely symbolic). So if Guruji never used that, should we? vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  7. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! It seems to be more of just a loophole... if it ain't a 'religious symbol', then they can still wear it... Although common sense would dictate that would be even LESS of a reason to have it . vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  8. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Good point Pheena. But I do think that that langar does have bhog done to it (in a separate ardas). Am I right? vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  9. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Right on moorakh mugadh veerji! Marrage isn't supposed to be something that you can just randomly hope works out well, it probably won't. If you are too different... vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  10. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Wow, excellent posts! I agree that love is OK, but: vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  11. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Although I see that most here are of the opinion that it is important to keep all of the Khakars on at all times, I do see the point of kirpakaro. Sikhi is about rejecting the ritualistic methods that hindus had maintained in India for so long... but in a way some that take amrit may be keeping their khakkars on all the time... but not know why? For those people, it HAS become a ritual. :e: vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  12. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Boleh So Nihal!!! Sat Sri Akal!!! :HP: vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  13. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I think one of the most powerful aspects of the SGGS is the fact that it is not partisan - it has shabads from many people and applies to all religions and faiths. Its really cool that although many people say that their holy book says something whereas other holy books say something totally different on the same subject, no one can pick out ANYTHING in our 11th Guru that is not totally true! (even those of other faiths!) vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  14. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Yeah, Gurps is right. I know a few people out there who have taken Amrit but who really don't follow it to its intent . ON the other hand, I know many people who are more faithful than me but haven't taken Amrit either. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  15. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Sadly, I know of several Sikh youth groups which have slowly gone that way. But thank you for enlightening me! vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  16. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I've heard a lot about the Dasmesh Mission in Calgary, but I really don't know what it is Could someone please enlighten me? vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  17. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Yeah, I can't believe that a Sikh could think such a thing. Sikhism is a modern religion and we of all people are supposed to show compassion towards the disabled...
  18. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Yeah, there are a lot of political problems at gurdwara. The sad thing is that as people get more apathetic towards Sikhi, more monas are taking over gurdwara positions. Thats stupid cause youth look up to these people, and when they see Monas everywhere, they just fall into the crowd so easily... its so sad!
  19. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I agree with balwinderkaur. I think that if Nitnem is missed because of illness or your incapacity to do it for some major reason, Waheguru will certainly forgive you because you did try your best. But if you just don't do it for no reason, than thats a big pop. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  20. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! My god, something as great as that paraded by a bunch of drunks... its an insult to everything the gurus fought for. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!
  21. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! I seriously don't believe the intent of this conversation was to shorten Mool Mantar in any way. The way I see it, It doesn't matter which form of the 'mantar' you recite, as long as it is done with the heart, that is all that matters. As to my personal opinion, the Guru Granth Sahib has within it written many times "Ik Onkaar Sat GurPrasad". That is in fact a short form for: Ik Onkaar, Satnaam, Kartapurkh, Nirbhao, Nirvair, Akaal Moorat, Ajooni, Sai Bhang, Gurparsad. If that itself has any significance, it might be to show us what exactly
