  1. i can understand where u are coming from besoft (ah just got the meaning of what ur name means! lol i been reading/thinking it's BES OF=BEST OF! ah dyslexic? lol<_< ...be soft..nice!) something that was talked about before no_One for some reason that part about reducing our ego doesnt sit well. do we have to tell ourself we are bad people in order to become a good person? isn't becoming a good person part of ego as well? can u see what im trying to question? isn't ego still there?... hasn't it grabbed on to the "good person that i am" from "bad person i am"? ego is tricky if what Papiv2 said man tu jot saroop hai appna mool pacchaan and then no_one u have also said: (if we are god) then why is there need to reduce ourselves to something we arent?(i have seen people go into depression cuz of that...because they dont understand what guru sahib means when he talks about ego....and constantly put themselves down...when they suppose to be in chardikallaa.)it's a very dangerous thing to say without actually understand what guru sahib is truly teaching us about ego and the self/spirit. how can god be put down? (why) is there a need for us to feel really bad, put ourselves down or beat ourself with negative guilt... or our words filled with lies and say things that aren't really true about ourselves? "Therefore, we will try and make ourselves a better person by doing more naam abhiyaas, reading more bani, etc. Whereas, if we did not say I am doing this and that, we would instead say; 'Waheguru is making me waste time, I'm not doing anything', therefore, we would not try and change ourselves." hmmm so its about making ourselves aware of the reality and THE truth by reading bani, naam abhiyas, doin vicchaar...sangat...=) what im tryin also tryin to get at is ... what this topic was...Pure ego..(many people fail to see this..and i wish what we discussing here could be passed down to many...its needed) the first time i read this..i was like, WHAT! noo there is NO such thing as Pure EGO! how can there be? lol it's because of what i have been "told" how ego was all "bad" but as i read more..it made a lot of sense. what everyones saying isnt whole lot of Crisps(chips ) it has lot of truth to it. Pure ego...someone else's views i happened to read fw days ago was smiler to what was explained earlier by Pv2 and this German guy said the same ^^^ ego is the root!(yet it is it's own cure ) ..the German guy is spiritualist and when i was reading and discussing his experience...he explained life more from a perspective of an EGO as something thats not the TRUE SELF/ the BEING/who we really are.... which No_one explained as we are joyt..but will take time for some to become aware of it nd realize it. his way of tackling this issue is very different from what i have read or heard. the way he wrote his understanding...i couldnt help but relate and connect it with what Guru sahib been trying to tell me for YEARS! there i was in awe and felt blessed to be a Sikh......its amazing how we get glimpse of truth and inspiration from people and places we never expect. he said a lot of things which r hard to explain. ..but he did talk about the ego n depth and how it can be altered. I Am of Ego to the I Am/Waheguru (awareness that there is something other then "me" watching and doing things). he talked about the awakened souls. i guess it goes back to being AWARE of the thoughts and things we are doing...realizing the "wrong" or "bad" we are doing and then changing it. saving ourself from the suffering they might have caused us. indeed its all gurparsad! brilliant discussion may guru sahib keep blessing us with his grace and help us become what we are created to be! bhul chuk muaff karni nd correct me if i understood the concepts all wrong ~akal~
  2. very interesting poem! creative~ was kind of hard to follow...had to read it twice. do u think u can color code each stanza where it ends? it would help in reading and understand the issues she brings about =) girls very observant and good at detailing what happens around her and what ought to be happening if she is aware...it means many others are too. is it lack of sikh knowledge or lack of interest? or both? or MANY OTHER things playing part in the way we the human species are as a whole? ~akal~
  3. "YOUR NARRATION IS THE CURRICULUM VITAE OF SEVERAL OTHERS,INCLUDING GENERATION BETWEEN 35-50 YEARS.THIS BALLOON OF DIVISIVENESS UNDER THIN MASK OF ONE NATION MAY IMPLODE ANY TIME. UNLESS ALL TOP LEADERS OF NATIONAL PARTY FORM A GROUP TO THWART THE DESIGN OF REGIONAL PARTIES,WE CAN NOT PROGRESS. PRIOR TO EMBARKING FOR ANY VENTURE AT NATIONAL LEVEL ,THIS INTERNAL STRENGTH OF ONE NATION WITH ONE HEART OF ALL PEOPLE IS A BASIC NECESSITY." P.L. Nawalkha Dear Dr. P. L. Nawalkha: How can the NATIONAL LEADERS OF TOP PARTIES WHO HAS TORN THE VERY FABRIC ON UNITY OF INDIA AND IN FACT ARE NOTHING BUT COMMON CRIMINALS AS WELL AS TERRORISTS CAN EVER CREATE A ONE NATION EQUATION YOU ARE ASKING FOR, IT'S ONLY WHEN INDIA INC. ACCEPTS THE FACT THAT WE ARE RULED BY TERRORIST PRESIDENT, TERRORIST PM BACKED BY WHOLE OF THE TERRORIST GOI, THEN A RAY OF HOPE MAY SHINE ON OUR HORIZON LOOK AT THE RISE IN TERRORISM BY HINDUVTA SINCE JANUARY, 01, 08. ALONG WITH THE FOLLOWING LIST. WE CANNOT PUT TRUST IN THESE LAWLESS POLITY AS THEY ARE SWIMMING IN THE SEA OF SIN. February.11, 2006 These are their crimes on our nation, I recall. It began with Nehru. Our constitution in election chapter was tempered with. Where it says, election for government is necessary, He wrote election for government not necessary. Proof is the current PM Man Mohan Singh installed by Sonia Gandhi. 1. Dictator Indira Gandhi's emergency rule from June 25, 1975 and March 21, 1977 damaged our democracy. 22 years of hell for the poor people of our society. 2. Son Rajiv Gandhi's genocide on innocent Sikh community shredded our constitution. 3. In 1992 with their terrorists RSS, Baj Rang Dal, VHP and their supporters within India Inc. carried out an anarchy at Ayodhya. 4. 36 Sikhs murdered in front of their homes, watched by their immediate familles at midnight in Kashmir when President Clinton was t arrive in the year 2000. 5.. 2002 incarnation of Hitler, a state CM MODI RAVAN CARRIED OUT WITH A BOGUS EXCUSE OF THE TRAIN FIRE AT GODHRA, A GENOCIDE ON INNOCENT MUSLIMS WITH STATE ASSISTANCE OF LABELS OF ALL MUSLIM HOMES, GAS CYLINDERS LINED UP AT EACH MUSLIM HOME ALL OVER GUJARAT. THE SHAMELESS, PM VAJPAYEE, WHO ALSO LEAD THE ANARCHY, DID NOT SEND IN THE ARMY, EVEN THOUGH, PRESIDENT NARAYANAN. SENT THREE REQUESTS. TILL THE FORTH DAY THE MURDER AND SEX ORGY COMMITTED BY STATE MLAs, INCLUDING WOMAN MLA KOKILA, VHP, RAJ RANG DAL AND THE FATHER OF BJP RSS CONTINUED, UNTIL THE ARMY ARRIVED. WHERE MODI DECLARED THAT THREE THOUSAND MUSLIN DIES. A FIGURE SIMILAR TO RAJIV GANDHI GENOCIDE ON INNOCENT Sikhs, IN 1984, IN OUR CAPITAL, MORE THAN 50,000 MUSLIMS PERISHED IN GUJARAT. GODLESS BJP GOVERNANCE AND MODI'S GUJARAT GOVERNMENT AE GUILTY OF TREASON, SO WERE THE GODLESS PM APPOINTEES, PRESIDENT KALAM DID NOT FIRE MODI FROM POWER, IS GUILTY OF TREASON TOO. THE OTHER GUILTY OF TREASON, PERSON IS OUR FORMER (CJI) Dr. ANAND, COMMISSIONER OF INDIA'S HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSIONER FAILED TO INVESTIGATE MODI MURDERS! IT MEANS WE HAVE AN EVIL, CRAZY BENT GOVERNANCE IN POWER, VOTERS NY INDIA INC. WE TURNED OUT TO BE DONEES AS WE BOUGHT THE LIES OF ALL MAFIA POLITY. 5. IN 2002 A FEW DAYS LATER, TERRORISTS OF BJP STONED TO DEATH SIX DALITS IN THE VERY FRONT OF A POLICE STATION SAYING THEY WERE SKINNING ALIVE COWS. WHEREAS THEY WERE SKINNING DEAD COWS. PM VAJPAYEE, INSTEAD OF STANDING BY OUR CONSTITUTION, COMMITTED AN ACT OF TREASON BY PAYING OFF THE PARENTS OF THE DEAD. 6. IN 2003 DECEMBER, OUR GOOD GUY DUBEY WROTE A LETTER TO PM VAJPAYEE, INFORMING HIM THAT THERE WAS A THEFT OF $500 BILLION FROM THE HIGH WAY PROJECT UNDER COMMISSION B. C. KHANDURI, MEMBER OF CABINET. THE LETTER WAS EXPOSED AND POOR DUBEY WAS ASSASSINATED IN COLD BLOOD 7. IN 2004. INDIA INC. FOR THE FIST TIME HAD COME TO IT'S SENSES AND REMOVED BJP FROM POWER 8. IN 2007. MODI ALLOWED HIS POLICE TO BEAT UP OUR ASSISI NEAR GUJARAT AND BUNT ALL THEIR CROP. HITLER IN THE GUJARAT ELECTIONS HE BROKE OUR CONSTITUTION AND BROUGHT IN COMMUNAL ELECTION. Then the Hinduvta attack at Nandigram. 9. IN 2008 MODI'S GOONDAS ARE BUSY PALING A GENOCIDE IN ORRISA ON CHRISTIANS. 10. Incident at Nandigram. 11. Attack on Adivasi in Assam. 12. ALSO RSS IS BUSY EXPLODING BOMBS ALL OVER INDIA AND NOW AT BHOPAL, WHERE THE LOCAL POLICE IS WORKING HAND AND HAND WITH HINDUVTA AND TODAY THEY STOPPED THEM MAKING A DOCUMENTARY. 13. UPA GOVERNMENT HAS NOT TAKEN A SINGE STEP ON THE CRIMES DESCRIBED ABOVE. GOONDA CONGRESS IS KEEPING COMPANY WITH GOONDA BJP. THIS CAN ALSO BE TERMED AS AN ANARCHY ON OUR NATION AS A WHOLE. SO, LADIES AND GOVERNMENT, WE HAVE LOST OUR FREEDOM AS WELL AS RIGHTS, PERMANENTLY AS OUR WHEELS OF JUSTICE ARE SEALED. THE FOUNDATION FOR NAZI INDIA HAS BEEN CEMENTED BY THE PARTNER SHIP IN CEMENTED OF CONGRESS AND BJP. DID ANY ONE IN OUR NOTICE THAT THE LAST TIME CLINTON VISITED INDIA HE DID NOT SHAKE HIS HANDS WITH VAJPAYEE IN A PHOTO-OP, LIKE HE ALWAYS DID WITH VAJPAYEE ON HIS EARLIER VISITS. ONLY ONE CHOICE REMAINS. BALLOT BOX. INDIA INC. NEED TO DITCH ALL OUR DIFFERENCES WITH EACH OTHER AND TO SAVE MOTHER INDIA BEING TURNED INTO NAZI INDIA, LET US UNITE, LIKE OUR 200 MILLION GRANDFATHER DID AND DEFEAT EVIL IN NEXT ELECTION FOR PARLIAMENT. INDIA INC. PLEASE DON'T LET OUR MOTHER INDIA FALL INTO THE HANDS OF OUR MAFIA POLITY, WHOSE HANDS ARE BLOODY WITH BLOOD OF INNOCENT PEOPLE. AT THE SAME TIME RECALL THE MEMORY OF HITLER AND THE SIX MILLION GASSED TO DEATH. JUST THINK HOW MANY OF US TOO WILL BE GASSED ALONG WITH OUR CHILDREN. 6. RealAge Tip All About YOU: 3 Quick Ways to Destress Your Head * Our Most Popular Tips » Stress isn't all bad. Short-term, it can help you meet a deadline, turn a double play, or keep your bumper from getting crumpled. But when stress lingers like week-old leftovers, it's time to pull the plug with a quick stress-busting technique like scrunching, breathing, or corking. Here's how to do 'em: Quick Fix Chronic stress can destroy your sleep patterns, boost the rate at which your arteries age, and turn your immune-system function down too low. But you can quickly rein in stress with these tricks: * Scrunch your face tightly for 15 seconds, then release. Repeat several times. Repetitive contraction and relaxation helps release tension you’re holding above the neck. Here’s another muscle melter. * Breathe in, lick your lips, and then blow out slowly. The cool air helps you refocus and slow down. Learn the right way to breathe for better oxygen saturation. * Cork it. Hold a wine cork vertically between your teeth (some people may first need to slice a bit off the top before it will fit). A gentle bite on the cork will force your jaws -- a major tension-holder -- to relax. (Skip this exercise if you have this medical condition.) Stress Management: Progressive Muscle Relaxation What is progressive muscle relaxation? Progressive muscle relaxation is an effective method for treating stress and anxiety. Concentrating on relaxing your muscles makes it harder to think about stressful problems and events. Progressive muscle relaxation is also a way to relax muscles that have become tense from chronic stress. When you do these exercises you focus on specific muscle groups, one at a time, tensing and relaxing each group while breathing slowly and deeply. Audio tapes that teach this technique are available at many bookstores. How do I do this exercise? Sit in a chair with your back straight, head in line with your spine, both feet on the floor, and hands resting on your lap. Tighten each muscle group and keep it tightened for 15 to 20 seconds. Then relax slowly and notice the difference between tension and relaxation. It is best to start at the head and work down the body or start at the feet and work up. The muscle groups to tighten and relax are: * forehead and scalp * eyes * nose * face * tongue * jaws * lips * neck * upper arm * lower arm and hands * chest * stomach * back * buttocks and thighs * legs * feet. For example, you can tighten your neck muscles by pulling your chin in and shrugging your shoulders. Hold the tension for 15 to 20 seconds. Then relax slowly. Exercise all muscle groups twice a day. Each exercise session should last 12 to 15 minutes. Other relaxation methods you may want to try are mental imaging and deep breathing. If you have serious problems from muscle tension, see your healthcare provider, who may want to treat you or refer you to a physical therapist or physiologist. Developed by Phyllis G. 7. waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh! panji its a confusing age. from reading ur post all i feel is...there is emotions and attachment involved with a lot of fear and guilt. That's no way of living. it will pass believe me, u have to let it be just an experience. u are more then ur thought and that individual in ur life first about ur mom calling u? when they ask such a question...usually they know what just had happen. they arent that oblivious ...and the reason she never brought it up is...u never saw the boy again and she let it go probabaly because she didn't want to talk about such things with u(?) nyhow u ended it why? was it out of guilt? or was it because he left(ran) at that time? or is there another deep reason? part of u might want to be friends with that guy and the other part doesnt. the reasons could be many. u need to sit down and ask urself. reach within urself and ask urself what do u want and what is really going on? u have taken amrit and he hasn't so u dont want to have anything to do with him for that reason. but lets assume he was amritdhari. what then? u went out with him again...because u still had feelings for him like "V" said above. u still have them and u need to resolve that conflict. sit down with him and talk to him if he is feeling that same way. Do U HAVE QUESTIONS FOR HIM? have u talked to him? another thing... this might or might not make sense, because it took me a while to get it for myself as well. so please bare with me. yes u have changed your lifestyle..but could it be that it's just a cover up? just know this...the cover up really has nothing to DO WITH WHO U REALLY ARE! we are beyond what we think we are. thats why u need to figure out things for urself. its attachment for sure...and ego. u are identifying urself with that guy. thats why it hurts and u cant really let go. u(ego) want him and u feel he is part of u thats why its hard to let go. its our identification with objects/people/things that make us suffer i was told. when they(person/object)are gone or we try to let go of them...ego comes in the way and we feel this pain in our THOUGHTS which are part of the mind/brain causes this emotions and stress/anxiety/suffering within us. it takes time to realize that and this might boggle ur mind. or may not make sense. took me a while...and im still learning to be fully aware of myself and actions of the mind and thought...nd what i really ought to be doing. the above should help u understand the "Why u still care about him?" --- how can u completely forget about him? just by understanding who u really are. it was an experience ...and this moment is an experience to help u progress in ur spiritual life...the true Being in u!it takes time. u need to be patient with urself. it's ur thoughts that are leading u to continue think about him thus making u feel guilt and pain. even though he isnt there in front of u ...yet he is there in ur thoughts. it's like Pheena ji or Tabla ji would say....u need to watch ur thoughts and let them pass. do ardas and think about positive and good things...not about him. IF thats WHAT U REALLY WANT, to really FORGET ABOUT HIM..thats one thing u to start doin. get urself busy with other meaningful things where u dont have the time to think about disturbing thoughts or any other stupid thoughts. much love and peace! hope this helps. if it doesnt, u can always reply back or PM to clear things out=) akal sahai bhul chuk muaf karni waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh!
  8. from a sikhi point of view....i think there are few who are awakened to change the life course it would be interesting to know why do some "hope" or wanna to live long? hanji there is some truth to that. dont u think it has lot to do with each individuals understanding and how they think? abstract vs concrete?
  9. love the different views of ours=) reminders me of Katha done by Sant Isher singh ji (Rare walay) on this...stating exactly this point and explaining life as a journey. ah life started to make much more sense from that point and day! what would u change that u feel u cant at the moment?
  10. is that what Guru sahib instructs us to do?^^^ to give up everything just because u are going to die?
  11. If your days were numbered, would you live your life differently?. News Source: http://www.kansascity.com Kerry and Chris Shook, authors of One Month to Live, challenge readers to live the next 30 days as if they were their last in order to experience life to the full. You have one month to live. Surely you’d want to get the most out of your remaining days. You’d want to live passionately, purposefully, the way we were created to live. That is the premise of a new book called One Month to Live by Kerry and Chris Shook (WaterBrook Press, $19.99). “By embracing the fact that our time on earth is limited, we can live deliberately, no longer postponing the joy and peace that come from fulfilling our God-given destiny,” say the authors, a husband and wife who founded Fellowship of the Woodlands Church near Houston. Wanting to explore the topic further, we asked people of various faiths: “If you knew you had only one month to live, how would you live your life? Would you live your life differently than you are now?” The answers proved similar to conclusions reached by the Shooks. “Usually people with a strong faith don’t have as much fear of death,” Kerry Shook said in an interview with the couple. “They have a lot of peace, a clarity of purpose in living their lives.” Yet the authors found that most people are not becoming what God wants them to be. “Most people just go through the motions of life,” Kerry said. “We want to help people not just to exist but to come alive.” The authors also acknowledged that some people are at the place God wants them to be. One reason the couple wrote the book, subtitled Thirty Days to a No-Regrets Life, is that “we want to get to that place where if we heard that we had one month to live, we wouldn’t have much to change,” Kerry said Toward that end the authors ask readers to sign a “One Month to Live Challenge” in which they “commit with God’s strength to live the next 30 days as if they are my last so I can experience life to the full.” So far, members from about 500 churches across the country have taken up the challenge. Many Kansas City area people of faith told us there’s not much they would change. Many said they were intentional in trying to live according to the dictates of their religion. “As a Sikh, I am admonished to live every day as though it were my last,” said Karta Purkh Khalsa of Kansas City. “If we live righteously, then we must live that way whether we have 30 years, 30 days or 30 seconds to live.” The idea of a “bucket list,” similar to that of the characters in the recent movie “The Bucket List,” is tempting, Khalsa said. His list would include visiting holy places and people in India and, if money and time allowed, in Europe and the Middle East “that have helped to guide me on this particular path.” Melissa Higgins of Independence, a Baha’i, said she hadn’t feared death until she had children — and even then it wasn’t a fear of death so much as a fear of leaving them motherless. “I imagine I would be bolder about sharing my faith,” she said. “I imagine at the grocery store checkout, telling the cashiers I’ve been acquainted with for years and years, ‘I’ve got 26 days left before I go to meet my Maker. I want to tell you about the Baha’i faith. It’ll change your life. Here’s a little book and my number.’ Why not?” Another Baha’i, Barb McAtee of Overland Park, said she would praise God for her life, thank God for the life to come, and pray for guidance to finish the work she was put here to accomplish. By HELEN T GRAY was on http://www.sikhnet.com/sikhnet/news.nsf/Ne...72573ED007E090E Would YOu? what would u change about ur life?
  12. seen it long ago... umm wonders if there is something wrong with him playin golf? :D
  13. I wouldn't take advice from someone regarding that unless they showed you a degree or some other qualifications. :D the oraginale poster got his answerrs...and "huh" u might have found an asnwer in the other posts. its just one of the theories ...like Dr.O.S. said ...its Freudian "theory" if u are a teenage..i would say talk to ur school psychologist/cousler/socal worker or even nurse. they can help u out with it! Last but not Least....when u read on or hear about any psychology terms or any mental disorder etc just know that u will feel like U HAVE THAT OR ITS U! here is a lesson for us: prof told us the 2nd yr of psych courses something like this which may help.... its normal to think u have that disorder or u are crazy while or after reading about each disorder. but know that unless a professional diagnose u with a disorder, u dont have it. ex: it is always said to the people who go study psychology that u will feel that u have depression, multiple personality or r mentally ill after reading each chapter on different metal disorders. there are many overlaps in definitions and diagnosis. there is no REAL definition of "Normal" it changes as we learn more about our body, mind, and soul in the books. if u feel whats happning to u isnt normal, go see a doc/professional and find out instead of guessing at home or trying to figure it out by self or talking about it with friends. ---- org poster...let us know please how u are feeling and what is going on hope u are well, and took the advice of sangat from here to go see a Dr. depending on where one lives...many times it's the "Dr. Bills" that prevent people to not go see a specialist ... and i am not sure if thats the case with u. if it is ...just PM me! waheguru ang sang sahai always! wjkk wjkf!
  14. see i knew it... u always listen to me good veer ji lol why did u need a scanner is ur reading that bad now these days? jk on a serious note why did u return it? i was thinking about buying it fo rmyself since some of the words i read these days are jus way over my head!
  15. One of my panjis recently told me that when they were talkin about rehatmariyada (Published by SGPC) in 1920s....bhai Randhir Singh ji and few others Singh from Taksal walked out. this is very new to me so im just kinda asking is that true? Im asking this because the way she said it...she seemed pretty sure about it. and if she is correct is what she says then us saying Bhai sahib was there would be wrong innit. just want to get my facts straight! i think most of our "panthic" people aren't reading or reflecting on Sikh history=( im looking fwd to see what this unfolds into. Mehtab sio u had to post it here eh? lol@ as finally one Single MARYADA? i dont think that was the original tittle :D chalo dekhdey ki hunda vaheguru
  16. The real question is that would someone include the Guru Granth Sahib in this category? hahaha well will need to read guru granth sahib ji and get an answer from there=) and i think u already know the answer...
