waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh! the above advice given by S8220 and anjaan makes a lot of sense and what should be considered. it def is a choice u have to make for her...but dont feel pressured. if teachers or a school psychologist suggests that ur sister stays one more yr in the class she is in now..i would say..thats not a bad idea at all. it isnt something thats bad! i have seen many people feel scared/ stigmatized by this (not the kid but the family) its useless. look at the bigger picture and whats BEST FOR THE CHILD in the long run AND NOT WHAT other people will SAY! (and i hope this isnt bothering ur family or effecting the decision in any way. if it is thn please let it go... ) like s8220 said its just a YR! i have seen boys being very slow in learning in nursery . its just natural.. and what makes a girl an exception? so dont worry too much about this. if she needs help and an extra year then she needs help nd extra yr. whats the big deal? she will thank u for that. but if u still want her to go to the next level... at the end ...depending on what country u are in (like anjaan panji suggested) they can always put her in the next grade but make/have an IEP (Individualized Education program). this way she will be with her friends/classmates/agemates? but would be taught things according to her pace. So if u really wish to put her in the next grade...please make sure the school is asked abot the IEPs and if they will have extra help for the child to develop at her own pace? dont be afraid to ask questions about these things to school personals. Ask for more information and ASK if u can hold ANOTHER meeting before deciding on this matter? If u need more time JUST ASK THEM to give u more time ...ad THEY BETTER cuz hello! its about a students life!(who would understand that better thn an institute which is suppose to help that child lead a better life?) try not to put pressure on urself. vaheguru always have great things in mind for all of us trust him and let him help u out through others=) akal sahai wjkk wjkf!

one more thing... they are prolly going to check if u can manage ur classroom as well(this is the biggest thing out of all). so what u need to do is find out what classroom management strategies are used in the class u are going to be teaching. find out from the teacher so u can use the SAME RULES students are used too. kids want consistency and it is hard for them to learn new rules and follow them JUST FOR U FOR ONE DAY! ~akal~

wjkk wjkf! oh dont be so formal jio...=) ok so one thing though whats >>level range from p8-2b??? plz in plain english..=( VAK (had to google...cuz we call it 'learning styles') is big every where. so they want u to teach for 30 mins or 10-15/20 mins of teaching and then u ask the students to do a task? i am not aware of that poem either let me google it here agian lol well ur lesson should be very creative. u can do so much with poems. even books...it really doesnt matter. the poem sounds funny yet so much could be done with it to connect our different types of learners. what are u thinking of doin with children? one of the ideas that came to my mine was..(if have to give them a task and not just lecture learning) to have them listen to the poem and then draw what they heard? (hopefully they havent seen youtube video on this poem hahaha) some like drawing{this is for visual learners}...for kinesthetic have the kids perform (drama or some kind of skit play...etc) act out the poem...one person becomes the monkey..one the cow... one the teapot etc etc and make different sounds hahahah now for the auditory..well they heard the poem innit now its their time to use their other intelligence (Gardner's intelligence theory) or they could make their own poem well before u have them do this or u plan on doin this with um... u know how they make us ask these questions at uni? AND this IS WHAT I REALLY WANNA KNOW FROM U TOO: what is ur objective for the lesson? what do u want them to get out of this lesson at the end of it? what are they going to be taking home ?(what skill they learning or what new knowledge they acquiring from ur lesson) hope u know what i mean? cuz the whole lesson plan depends on our objective/goal...so depending on what u want them to be learning.. the idea i gave could be of NO USE AT ALL=) u know that there is a difference between US and brit schools so im tryin to get an idea of how it works there...and what is taught..and what u want to do u can google and get awesome lessons plans...or read ur language arts uni book u prolly used. they always give example lessons and connect them to our students( VAK) but if u need help with planning the lesson... please let me know i love doing that stuff (go overboard sometimes lol) hope this is of some help... but if u wanna discuss this further thn we can either do it here or exchange e-mail adz akal sahai! wjkk wjkf!

this reminds me of the time when MQLQ told us not to 'praise' him...and talked about some of the reasons. his reasons were great and something all of us sitting there experienced thus had to agree and requested each other to not do that=) {hez been my inspiration for yrs now... a big brother i always wished for (and finally got } praise has a huge affect on us.. and sometimes in some individuals it become te food for the haumai...aslo becomes an obstacle in (spiritual) life ..so one gtta be careful while one is being praised or praising others. akalsahai~
