Dear tarlochan followers, when DD came here in the mid-eighties , the BBC and some newspapers carried an article saying the " Guru of the SIkhs is in the UK.. " Who gave themthis article? The indian high comision. Did DD ever say this is false and the indian high com have lied? No. DD used to get people to suck his toe. Is this the work of a DAS? No. I call tarlochan a hypocrit becoz he talks about and quotes Guru Gobind Singh being the true Guru,but never talks about Amrit, which is the elixir of life, which was also brought to us By Guru Ji, thru the hukam of Akal. Also Bhaji , a Sant does not teach you anything in life. Guru Granth Sahib teaches all. Sants only convey this message. They cannot teach you anything. Only Guru Granth Sahib is capable of that. And as for respecting Guru Nanak, and yet ignoring his teachings , well, what can i say. And Sangha you ignoramus, Guru Teg Bahadur gave his head for the freedom of Hindu religion, not Sikhi!! And you claim we only see one side of the coin. no brother, its you who are missing the one side. Spiritual and temporal development is what sikhi is about . sant- sipahi. you are looking only at sant, and ignoring the sipahi, so already you are limiting yourself to 50%. Temporal jeevani is just as important as spiritual jeevani. And hold Guru Granh Sahib in the highest esteem? do you really? i think even you truly listened to what Guru Granth Sahib says , you would forget tarlaochan and jpoin the eternal Khalsa Brotherhood, and take the protection of the Naam. I watched a few of Tarlochan's progs on aastha and as a preahcer i thougth he was quite good. However content wise, i thought he was a hypocrite, becasue he was always quoting Guru Gobind Singh, but he never once talked about amrit ot the 5 pyare. Becasue he does not beleive in either. He talks about the spiritual developement of mankind and thats good, but in sikhi miri and piri are in equal perfect balance, and the darshan das movement does not rise to that. and i dont think it ever will. His father promoted himslef as a Guru of the Sikhs, which is why he was killed. As for Nanak Naam... using this as a slogan giave the impression that he was talking about Sikhi, when actually he was pushing his own ideas. Also SimSingh , a Sant is one life is NOT essential. Its an advantage . But then again a Giani can tell you what Guru says if you cant work out the meanings. A Sant can help you by example, but reliance on a Sant in your life does not guarenteee mukti. This depende on your own actions. This is something that Tarlochan will not tell you. After all why should he? You would stop visiting him.

proactive, thats a good post, but you have to have some understanding of why the chamars took the step they did, alto it was the wrong step to take. they had been on the recieving end of the high castes and they felt that they wanted/needed to give the higher castes sikhs the heave-ho. However the times have changed and especailly outside of india , very few people give the caste system any merit. So the greivances that the chamars ahd and they were genuine issues are not really there outside of India, where as you say the Ravidas movement took place. I am so sad for these people becos in order to prove their seperateness from Sikhi, they have in some places made an idol of Bhagat Ravidas and began to worship it. They started by shunning sikhi, now they have even turned their back on Bhagat Ravidas. chatanga

Binna i say you pay lipservice becos in one sentence yousay you respect all gurus equally, and in the next you say we do not adhere to the 5 ks. The jyot of the Gurus is one. So you can not say i Beleive in one Guru teachings 100 % and in the other Gurus teachings 50 %. This is why i say lipservice. Its nothing personal. If you dont disagree wiv Guru Granth Sahib, why wiv Guru Gobind Singh? Also the Gaddi Nasheen sants , are u talking about SAnt Sarwan DAs and Sant Garib Das? Dear Binna i dont beleive you when you say you respect all Guru's alike. I dont beleive that you have the same repsect for Guru Gobind Singh as you have for the others, and i beleive you are just paying lipservice when you say you do. Amrit and the 5 ks were not created by Guru Gobind Singh but revealed by him on the order of Akal. And Guru Ji rebuked the hill chiefs saying these people you call lowcastes ( ie u and me) will recieve patshahis. Now you have given up patshahis and made up your own religion. Upto a point people of our varna (the 4th) were at one wiv the upper 3 varnas in sikhi. Until caste system came in, and then the lowcaste elders being fed up with the higher castes made a break. a limited one at that. it was the right thing to do at the time maybe, but it was not one made in accordance wiv sikhi. thats why me telling you this 5 name stuff is just something that somone made up becase of his treatment, and its best to leave manmade stuff and come back to what the Guru Granth Sahib says. A lot of what happens in Bhagat Ravidas places of worship ios centered around sikhi, but you have the odd few pratices that have been introduced by people. NOT Guru. What is Ravidasia nam bhajan and its origins? Or is it another thing that the elders have made up to distinguish themselves from sikhi. chatanga

I heard that in the Janansakhis , it says that Hanumaans mukiti actually came frm Guru Nanak in Guru ji udasi of sri lanka. any one heard this? chatanga

Dear Mr Kid My cousin and who was 24 was arrested by Amritsar ravan sena , who wanted to know why he was in Amritsar when living in Jalandhar. They said he was about to commit a terrorist attack and tortured him in Maal Mandi centre. Being a kid you may not know what Maal MMandi is famous for. Then they told his father to come and get him when he was half dead. His father brought him home and for the next 2 days watched him writhe in agony from the electric shocks he had received. I watched a father watch his son die, and i knew then that even with the questions that you pose about borders and democracy and what-not, that even one village that was free from ravan hakoomat would be better than to live like this. And this kind of stuff happened to thousands and thousands of people , not from 1984 but as early as 1966. I hope kid that you never have to watch anything like this. The questions that you pose are neither here noe there. The question you should ask is, is it better to live one day of freedom , or 100 days of slavery. DW you are too right, sometimes im appalled at the langwij some of the different castes use towrards each other, and i think would Guru Ji ever approve of this?

Binna, i would liketo share a few facts wiv you. up until about the times of Baba Banda Singh there was no difeernence between any castes in sikhs. with the fall of the sikh raaj, the caste came back in, when brahminism crept back into sikhi. the sikhs then divided themselves, and the lower castes ( to which i myself belong) received bad treatment at the hands of the uppercastes. with the emergence of ambedkar , lower caste people became politically aware and began to mould their focus into a " we ourselves" mindset. This included thier own religion, which altho structered around Guru Granth Sahib, has been changed here and there to fit in with the preferences of the chamar community. This religion has been noised to be based on Bhagat Ravidas, but he had to be transformed into Guru Ravidas, becasue Guru sounds much higher in status than Bhagat. A political party BSP etc has been championing the politiacl cause of low castes for 30 odd years now. I tell you now Binna , and please tell everyone you can that the only answer to unity to Amrit. Come to the fold of the Khalsa brotherhood and take the protection of the Naam.

Thank You Bijla Singh. I absolutely would never ever trust the ravan delhi hakoomat. No matter what they say, their is just too much history to ever reconcile us. I wasnt really born an indian, but I know i'll never die an indian. None of us can ever say that Sikhs will be successful or unsuccessful in our own country, and to hear some people on this forum be absolutely sure that Khalistan will never be successful is just out of order. You do not know that. this is surely a piece-take. do you have any control over whether the chaiers or tables stay in langar hall? if youdo then surely go pesh. but if you go to a gurdwara where you hve no say over it, then stick to what you know. If you were on stage , then youhad an opportunity to say what the correct tradition is. If you missed this opportuniuty then as Bhai Nand Lal Ji says " jo beeti so beeti" and remember next time you'll klnow whatto do. if this is the state of youths who believe ,today , we in serious trouble.

the origins of kashera that my vidya guru told me began with Lakhsman , when he was left by Bhagwan Ram Chander to lookafter Sita in the jungle. Bhagwaan Ji told him that as long as he wears kashera he will be safe. a rakhshasni came to Lakshman and tried to swallow him, just as Hanumaaan swallowed the sun. However only the top halfof Lakshmans body went into her mouth. When the kashera would enter her mouth, he wouldnt go in any further, and the demon-ni was forced to push him back out. this way his life was saved. Now im not saying this is the only story. namastang knows way more than me!!

ocelot, people use images to try and portray their own feelings, such as i have. its no big issue. Images are used to show a description of something. the pic that GA has cannot be said to be a true image of Hanumaan. GA probably used that to wind you up, knowing that you would fall into the trap. Also i would advise you never visit an Udasi ashram, cos you will probably have a heart attack or something if you see what they do in there wiv images.
