  4. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I started learning tabla recently (my hands r gone really hard and horrible from Gatka and Tabla) . I think the best way 2 practice is 2 get a electronic tabla and play the same taals (got mine from panjab). Speed can then be built slowly with electronic tabla.
  5. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh! I never bin 2 a gursikh wedding.....
  6. are u jokin or are u serious!!!!!
  7. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! veer ji, i'm an amritdari and i always carry razor-sharp kirpan with me 24/ 7.....u never know whe its needed. At home i carry 9-10 inches and at school i carry 4-5 inches. That kirpan is well small for me but its well sharp aswel, for me..... i'v got no choice but 2 carry the smaller 1 to school but for those who do please dont carry the blunt 1. Whats the point of carring a kirpan when its useless. Kipan is there to protect the poor and for self-defence. Its also a weapon to protect the whole body. "Kirpan paan thaariang, koror paap taariang" The mark of a khalsa is one who holds a kirpan in hand, by doing this tens of millions of sins are abolished
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! paji, i'l go on fielding........hahahha oh ye at school......Muslims were shouting... PAKISTAN ZINDABAAD. Indians were shouting...INDIA ZINNDABAAD. Me and my mate were standing in the middle shouting KHALISTAN ZINDABAAD.
  9. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! I recieved this email from this paji, have a read...... Muslim's all over the world are getting closer and closer to their faith, whilst us Sikh's couldn't be further from Guruji's values. If we do not act now we will go the same way as the ancient Romans, Macedonians, and the Mongol’s. They were all great cultures, and brave warriors but now they are just living in their past glory. We need to act, and act now. Sikh’s are forgetting the true teachings of Sikhi, instead we are becoming far too westernised. Cutting our Kesh, drinking, smoking and eating filthy meat. When you go to the Gurudwara, how often do you see young Sikh’s in the congregation sitting and actually taking part in the prayers? Instead you will see the older generation performing Seva and joining in with the Kirtan. Young Sikh’s in the West may well be proud of our faith but we do little to uphold the values of our great ancestors. Sikh men & Sikh Women are encouraged to cut off their Kesh, not only by their young female peers but also by their parents, who find the custom old and thus irrelevant. On days such as Vasakhi, our youth drive in fancy cars waving the Nishan Sahib in one hand, whilst holding a can of beer, or a cigarette in the other hand. They know not of the Sanctity of our flag, we rub the name of Guruji in dirt. The youth of Islam however are far more versed in their faith. They go to their Mosque and learn the teachings of their prophets, they read their Nimaz and gain the knowledge of the religion. Sikh men fight and curse, we are known (and in many cases are proud of) to enjoy our drink. As whole promotin casteism goes "Jatts do this" , "Jatts do that" in bhangra song not actually promotin unity songs rather than promoting casteism "an barrier in sikhism. All that jazzy bee's and bindy johal lovers try to copy their style by puttin colorin their hairs put "MASSIVE KHANDA"yet not even knowin the purity or history behind the Khanda. In chatrooms come across with the term "Jatt" or "Jatti" being used as though it is a religion in its own sense Whereas people from other faith laugh at us We see it as being quite normal to get drunk and fight our brothers. We see no harm in this. We can’t possibly say our Islamic counterparts don’t behave in the same way as, but they certainly aren’t seen doing so. Many Muslim men act saintly and over time simple people would see them as nice good men. Is it really such a surprise that our womenfolk turn to them when in trouble. We say these girls are slag’s and so we do not need them in our faith, but you tell me how many of our sisters would we have left. This is happening because our sikh youth has "Less Knowledge and Faith" in sikhi. They think punjabi way of livin and relegion is moreless a samething. Whereas, its not. There is an fine boundary line between them. How can a person convert if they dont know first universal thing about sikhism??. They get sick tired of family , casteism and other typical punjabi life style they illustioned that if it was a relegion and go out with muslims and get converted. Its lot happening in england. Days are not far when islamic extermist will start doin this in north america, lurin our sikh sisters into islam by emotional blackmailing and other propaganda. We talk about our immigration to canada and U.S and england like 100 years back but we still getting humilation and couldn't make any good image in western countries and still have issues within our communites. I am not here to stereotype against Muslim’s but I must make it quite clear that only doom stands in front of us if we do not act. We need to learn about our faith so we can teach others. We need to show our brothers, our sisters, our friends and even our parents what Sikhi is really about. Otherwise we risk being forsaken by Waheguru ji, we have been taught by example what Sikh’s are capable of. Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji had stated that an Amritdhari Sikh is as powerful as the Guru who created the Khalsa. Let us not destroy the little we have left of our great faith, but let us learn and teach the ways of our Guru
  10. My Dream, I dream of a day when….. We will unite A day when all Jathabandees will come together to unite under one Nishaan Sahib A day when all our differences are destroyed & we agree on 1 Guru Granth & Guru Panth A day when we all work together against those who want to destroy Sikhi A day when we all work together to spread the message of Guru Nanak in this world A day when we recognise and respect each other as Gursikhs and stand up for other Sikhs A day when we will treat each other equally no matter what gender, caste, colour A day when Sikh Women be allowed to do all kinds of sewa in our Gudwaras We explore our roots A day when we understand the meanings of Gurbani besides reading it A day when we read and explore our great history, are proud great sacrifices and want to be just like great Shaheeds A day when we can feel the pain of our recent Shaeeds and imagine what they went through for Sikhi A day when we love the Kirtan to the extent that we don’t want to listen to anything else A day when we will learn and practice our own martial art-Gatka, and give utmost respect to Shasters Renounce Manmat A day when our parents stop believing in useless rituals A day when our gurdwaras are freed from Jaat-Paat, Ligting of Jot, Water Ritual A day when we stop touching feet of every Sant we see and bow to Guru Granth Sahib only Sikhi will flourish A day when we will love and are proud of the beautiful saroop given by Guru ji and not afraid or embarrassed of the distinction A day when we will stand up for sikhi saroop and principles in Schools, Colleges, Unis A day when we will see each ot her as brothers and sisters and one Khalsa Family A day when we will renounce drugs and intoxicants. A day when we will want to take Khande de Pauhaul to join Khalsa Family A day when we are proud to call ourselves SIKHS Will my dream ever come true???
  11. Waheguru ji ka khalsa Waheguru ji ki fateh nice saroop paji.......may satguru ji bless u with khande di puhual now....... waheguru...........waheguru.........waheguru
  12. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Nice article, Satguru bless this paji who had to fight silly Panjabi traditions on his own wedding. We need more people like him who will reject Panjabeeat in weddings and stand up for sikh marayda. I have decided already at my wedding no stupid Punjabi stuff and I m going to have my favourite ragees doing kirtan (if wedding in India) and Gatka for definite. No show off whatsoever, simple, Sikh wedding B) !!!!!! Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  13. 1st Bhai Gurmeet Singh 'Saant' from Jalandhar wickd kirtan in Raag 2nd Bhai Niranjan Singh ji Jawadi Kala 3rd Bhai Harjinder Singh ji Sri Nagar Very greatful to all Kirtinaees for all the sewa that they are doing for the Panth. May Satguru keep them in Chadi kala!!!
  14. "Bedh, Puran, Simrat sab Saasat, in pareah Mukat na hoi, Ek Aakarh jo Gurmukh jaaphe tis ki nirmal soi" By reading Beadh, Puran, Simrat and Sasat, libration cannot be achieved. Gurmukh meditates upon One Word (Waheguru) to get spiritual bliss. "Ram, Raheem, Puran, Kuran, Anakh kahe mat ek na manheu" Ram, Raheem, Puran, Kuran, say many things, i do not accept any of them. "Naa hum Hindu, Naa Muslmaan" Nor i am a Hindu, nor a Muslim.
  15. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh Sikhnet is a very good website in a sense that they r doing parchaar of sikhi in a way that our other so called sikh organisations i.e. sgpc r unable to do. But at the same time their reply to this girl’s question is utter nonsense. GTKK’s answer basically says if you two can work out your differences with this muslim, go and marry him in Gurdwara. I like to see which London Gurdwara will allow a sikh girl to be married to a muslim in presence of Guru Granth Sahib ji. Sikhnet needs to be very careful when replying to such delicate questions by youth and should give them right answers in accordance with Gurbani. This GTKK person obviously hasn’t done any research before replying to the question. The problem again lies with our parents as they have been unable to teach us sikhi beliefs and values and this girl who doesn’t obviously know much about sikhi is seeking answers from outside and getting wrong advice. This is my humble request to sikhnet that please in future before you reply to any questions do some research and think what sikhi says instead of giving your personal views to sikh youth. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  16. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Just like 2 share few thoughts with fellow Gursikh Students about Khalsa Panth. Hmm, don’t know where 2 begin. :T: Equality? Manmat in our Gurdwara? Saint-Solider? Unity??? Lets start with Equality. Guru ji gave us Equality, Equality between high and low caste (hence the concept of Langer), Equality between Men and Women, Equality between rich and poor. Going back 2 equality between castes, although Gursikhs treat each other nicely, but when it comes 2 marriage no one is willing 2 marry outside their caste or jathas. This Hindu system of castes is embedded so deep into hearts of Gursikhs, seems like its impossible 2 get it out. Many Amritdari Gursikhs really proud of using their family surnames. Who is going 2 use SINGH & KAUR after their names, given by Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj. When I write KAUR after my name, it reminds of 10th Satguru, it feels like I got a straight link with him. Equality between Men and Women, Guru ji gave it, Marayda of the Panth gave it, why is not being implemented? Women cant be in 5 Parahs, Women cant even stand in the way when Guru Granth Sahib is taken back in Harminder Sahib (cos women r impure), let alone be allowed 2 do any sewa there, Women cant do kirtan in Harminder Sahib although there r countless Women Kirtani Jathas. I think a Sikh who believes in Jaat-p aat and doesn’t give equality 2 Women is failing 2 understand the basic principle of Sikhi, WE R ALL EQUAL. We cant even treat other Gursikhs with equality, pihar and respect how r we gonna respect people from other religions. Manmat in Gurdwaras, Lighting of Jot, existence of water in bottles (the so called Amrit), Fight and Race 4 Leadership, Existence of Gurdwaras belonging 2 different Jaats & Jathas etc. Why has all this rubbish flourished in our Gudwaras? There r numerous so called SANTS in the Panth (not referring 2 great Sants who did spread sikhi), where r the soldiers? Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj gave us a Kirpan, who many of us actually know how 2 use that Kirpan effectively in a life death situation. Come around Viasakihi time, most Singhs hold Siri Sahibs in their hands, do they know how 2 use that Sword if it was needed? Didn’t want 2 say it but we have become a kum of fats not soldiers. A Sikh is Fit not Fat (as my Gatka Ustad says), maybe Guru Pita Ji should have said my Khalsa should train 4 this long everyday (not questioning Guru!) alongside doing Nitnem. We don’t know how 2 defend ourselves in a fight, let alone protect others. Western people r coming into our Gurdwaras and attacking and killing us, having a Kirpan on us we r still getting beaten up. Last but not least, when we gonna unite? Different jathas, maraydas, arguments, Hindu manmat, name it exists in Sikhi Today. “Ekka Bani, Eke Gur, Eku Sabad Vichaar”. We got one Guru Granth Sahib Ji, One Guru, why do we still disagree? I think we r paying the price as we r slowly being destroyed in India, Sikhs girls being persuaded 2 convert in UK, Dastaar being in question in Europe etc. I don’t mean 2 offended anyone, just like 2 know if I m the only weirdo thinking such way. Bul Chkh Maaf Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh& #33;!
  17. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Paji Mr Singh, that quote was from Bhai Gurdas ji's // 29, Pauri 11. Let me explain myself on Underwear issue 4 Bibiaes. I think it is wrong 2 wear an underwear 4 amritdari women. When Guru Gobind Singh Maharaj created Khalsa Panth he gave the 5 Kakars 2 both Men & Women knowing about women's monthly period. Guru ji still gave us Keshera 2 wear and nowdays we sikh women think we cant handle ourselves with the same Keshera on the monthly thing. Only Guru knows how great sikh bibiae warriors i.e. Mata Bag Kaur handled thier periods. I know it can be a bit messy and frustrating but i remember my mother Mata Sahib Kaur ji 4 help and i get through the diificult days. It is so very wrong 2 take off the Keshera and put an underwear because a Keshera is difficult 2 handle. I know it is very difficult 2 be a sikh especially a sikh women but Guru is Ang-Sang and nothing is hidden from Guru . What makes me really angry is these so called Singhs who think women r impure because of periods. We go through so much pain (with Akal Purakh's Hukam) all our lives and yet we r seen as being dirty and unclean as a result of periods. When i have a shower in the morning my kirpan can be a bit difficult 2 keep on my head, but all i say is Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj & Kirpan stays on the head! Bul Chuk Maaf! Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
  18. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! The kashera is the sign of <admin-profanity filter activated> restraint. It is never to leave your body i.e. stepping out of it with both your legs. After doing Ishnaan, one half of the wet Kashera is to be removed from one leg and a dry clean Kashera does leave the body by accident, then you are to approuch "Five Singhs" who will do Ardaas for you and give a punishment. If the Kanga, Kirpan and kara leave the body you can do an Ardaas your self, but if the Kashera leaves the body only "five Singhs" can do ardaas. the Kashera is never to be changed whilst your head is uncoverd. You are only to wear Rev Kashera ( a traditional style Kashera). The Kashera Gives us teaching, " Dekh paraaiya changiaa, maava bhenaa thiyaa jane" ( Men should look at the opposite sex as monthers, sisters and daughters, Women should look at the opposite sex as fathers, brothers and sons.) "Seel jat ki Kach pehar pakriaro hathieraa" (The sign of the true chastity is the Kashera, you must wear this and hold waepons in hand). (Bhai Gurdaas ji, // 41, pauri 15)
