  1. This is exactly why people should promote the book "The Gallant Defender". It is written by a HINDU magistrate and totally clears Sant ji's name of all of the allegations against him and lays the blame for 84 squarely at the feet of the government. So this book carries that magic combination that usually convinces even stupid people: a Hindu writer, of high position (that reflects the ability to delve deep into an issue), and something to lose by speaking the truth. The book was banned for sometime, not sure of its status now. You can find the entire book online for free by googling its name. Please spread knowledge of this book to educate people.
  2. baba baldev singh ji has said that the mind is like a snake. if you want to control the mind and you grab it, it is like grabbing a snake. how long can you grab hold of a cobra behind the neck? what will happen when you let it go? it won't stay in your control will it? if that's the case than are you controlling the snake or is the snake controlling you? these thoughts are like darkness. you're trying to rid your mind of this darkness. if a room is filled with darkness how do you remove darkness from a room? you can't push the darkness out. but when you turn on the light the darkness disappears. so, as you increase in naam bani sadhsangat the parkash inside you increases and the darkness recedes. so the solution is not to work on getting rid of the bad, but instead to increase the good. additionally, from personal experience i can attest that flower remedies are very useful aids in dealing with issues of the mind. before trying things like therapy, which are usually unnecessary, look up bach or master's flower essences and match the description with the issues that you are facing. even without these you could be just fine, but these remedies will make it easier for you.

    Pain in head

sounds normal. generally, if you don't use force when doing simran, are relaxed, than anything that happens is normal and ok. If you are unsure, than just rule out any possible medical conditions with your doctor. After that's ruled out, then everything that happens should be seen as normal. tons of changes happen on this path, some of them feel really strange.
  4. if it slips out from the bottom, get someone to sew the holster up so it's tight enough that that does not happen (or get a new one). if it slips out from the top, you can get better gatras that prevent that little loop on the gatra from sliding around too much. this helps hold it in place.
  5. Singh ji, I'll tell you straight up, that spending time in sangat builds up sharda very quickly. That energy from sangat provides a great deal of support. Also, if you do 7 hours of simran in amritvela, and another person goes to Guru's hazoori and does one hour of amritvela simran japping naam with 15 other Gursikhs, who do you think gained greater spiritual benefit??? Ring up one of those sants, tell them everything openly and honestly. Share your frustrations. I know it can be frightening, but if you don't do it you may look back a year from now and regret how much time you wasted not knowing what to do. edit I also wanted to add, that there is a GIANT difference between casually asking simran questions from a sant and having them help manage your simran. If you find ONE to help manage your simran you can move forward faster. Ask that sant for a simran jugti to help you progress faster.

    career ?

what are your strengths? what do you kind of like doing? and match those with what does the market demand? check out the types of career available after looking at those things. what are the work conditions etc? Do you want to work that many hours, is the pay ok etc? then ask people if you can job shadow them b/c real life experience is very different from descriptions that you read. of course, any career should be in line with Gurmat.
  7. I personally don't care how someone dresses. But generally a person who is more sharply dressed will be treated with greater respect, they will usually be seen as someone with higher status. They may also be perceived as more disciplined.
  8. You have made some mistakes, but that is ok. You're young and clearly have a lot of discipline. -The first mistake is thinking that high levels of spirituality = spiritual experience. That's not at all true. I know people who are at lower levels who have spiritual things happen and people who are at higher levels whose experience is gareebi. This reminds of of Sant Ishar Singh ji. A person was repeatedly asking sant ji about what kinds of spiritual experiences they had. After a few requests Sant ji finally responded by placing his hazooria at that person's feet and saying 'gareebi'. True gareebi is one of the ultimate experiences on this path. The avastha can be seen more by the lack of vikaars than by experiences. -The second mistake is doing bhagti alone. When we go to have darshan of Guru Granth Sahib ji or a puran sant they adjust our spiritual energy and help us move forward much more quickly. Additionally, doing simran with sangat will let you move forward more quickly. -3, when we don't do kirt than a big chunk of our kamai goes to those who are supporting us. You don't have to do it if you truly want to dedicate yourself 100% to bhagti, but i'm just mentioning this so you know. I've spoken to singhs living in deras and one of them mentioned that he has noticed people who live off of sangats' kirt kamai move forward much more slowly. Most people don't know this, but many sants living in deras do a great deal of seva, including doing their own kethi etc. Others actually do their kirt, or are retired from a lifetime of kirt. For example, Baba Thakur Singh ji Bhindrenvale used to do kethi as his kirt. Another related thing, seva is incredibly important as it removes obstacles from the path of simran. -4, do you have a sant to guide you? Did a purakh who is much further along on this path teach you how to simran in a more effective way (ie give you a jugti for simran)?? The guidance of a sant is exceptionally important on the advanced stages of this path. "Modern" people poo poo the idea just like those who are even more "modern" poo poo the idea of needing Amrit, but both are requirements if you wish to become one with God. PM me if you have specific questions and want some more advice.
  9. Any bani will help you. The more you read the better off you are. Any gandh that a person puts into their mind, such as from tv, may also be harmful to the baby spiritually. Gyani Thakur Singh ji once mentioned in his katha that if the mother reads at least 5 Japji sahibs a day then no matter how far from Sikhi that child goes in this janam, he or she will still come back to Sikhi in the same janam.
  10. In these interviews, former Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury Roberts explains to us the current financial situation facing America and the world. I recall that Giani Thakur Singh ji once mentioned in his katha that the food, homes, jobs etc we have are a result of our past kamai. Difficult economic situations come about b/c peoples' kamai runs out. part 1 http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/KWN_DailyWeb/Entries/2013/3/15_Former_US_Treasury_Official_-_Fed_Desperate_To_Avoid_Collapse.html part 2 http://kingworldnews.com/kingworldnews/KWN_DailyWeb/Entries/2013/3/16_Former_US_Treasury_Official_-_US_Financial_System_To_Collapse.html Trends Forecaster, Gerald Celente, discusses Government Preparations for Economic Implosion:
  11. Gyani Thakur Singh ji once mentioned in one of his kathas that Sant Jarnail Singh ji would do paath of certain angs of Guru GRanth Sahib ji everyday. When questioned as to the reason, Sant ji told him to do it himself and find out. Gyani ji also goes on to mention the ang #'s that he did paath of. Could somebody please point out which katha this is mentioned in?
  12. http://www.gursevak.com/ --> download 'SGGS Santha Sanchian' on the first page. it is visharaam of all of Guru Granth Sahib ji
  13. Gurmat teaches that when a paap is hidden the paap increases, when a paap is made pargat (admitted) it decreases. Sometimes you just have to suck it up and make the paap pargat (in front of the punj) to get forgiven.
  14. Obeying the Guru's hukums, which include but are not limited to taking Amrit, make one a better sikh. This path requires sharda, prem, and OBEDIENCE. Amrit is not mere sugar water and it's insulting for you to refer to it as that.
  15. Whether you have taken Amrit or not, Bani will purify your surti and make it more ekagaar (concentrated), which is required to meet God. However, a Guru is also required to meet God and one does not have one until they take Amrit.
  16. I recommend you look up Dr. Schulze and read his answers to the various questions on his blog https://herbdocblog.com/. You can also ask him your questions. He has an amazing reputation and his products are incredibly strong. If nothing else works, try his incurables program. After trying numerous products I felt that his were the best that I have tried. some of his books are online http://curezone.com/schulze/ On top of this, pranayam yoga outside of rush hour times can help your sait and, of course, meditation on Bani. There may also be sarab rog ka aukhad naam healing camps in your area. Check out there website for times.
  17. Gurbani also happens to refer to certain individuals as sants: ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਕੀ ਪੈਜ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਾਖੀ ਹਰਨਾਖਸੁ ਨਖ ਬਿਦਰਿਓ ॥3॥ Vaheguru kept the honour of Sant Prahlaad and killed Harnakash with his nails. In the above pankiti, Siri Guru jee has called Bhagat Prahlaad jee a Sant. 3॥ Bhagat Kabir jee refers to himself saying What crime has this sant committed that he is thrown in front of an elephant to be crushed. The elephant bowed before him but the Muslim judge didn't understand the immorality of his actions.
  18. astral travel is actually a very very low level ability. there are other ways to travel. as a being gains in spiritual power they can have their spirit leave their body but it is unable to affect the world around them. when they become even more powerful, then the spirit can go anywhere instantly and affect the world around it, interact just like a real person. deep meditation is where you gain kirpa. astral travel is just a low level spiritual ability connected with the shadow side of consciousness. while not wrong to engage in, i recommend people avoid it.
  19. Tell her to meditate on Sree Har Krishan Dhiaeeaay Jis Dithay Sab Dukh Jaa-aay. It's very very powerful. Examples from http://khojee.wordpress.com/2010/03/15/sarab-rog-ka-aukhad-naam/ Also check out http://gurbanihealing.com/ as sometimes they have Gurbani healing camps in various places.
  20. a true sant is a mirror and will reflect your sharda
  21. maharaj kept me alone for a number of years and i became used to it. i found feelings of loneliness could be eased by attending divan daily. it helps a great deal in your spiritual life. perhaps you would be best off if you focused on building up your jeevan and doing some seva? this way the worry about meeting people could be lessened and you might meet friends through seva.
  22. any place in the lower mainland or abbotsford will not be too far from a decent gurdwara that follows basic maryada. abbotsford is probably the furthest east you can go in the fraser valley as mission's gurdwara is, from what i've heard, very very liberal. i don't see why you would want to llive in a small town as they lack in opportunities for youth and have smaller sangat (so less kamai).
  23. Gurbani tells us that we are responsible for what happens to us. This means that if someone is spreading hate against us, it is b/c we did something to them in past janams. So we are reaping the rewards of our own sown seeds. This doesn't mean that you have to be passive, you can defend yourself. But often it is better to ignore them and let their slander destroy the paaps on your head. It will make the path easier for you. I find remembering following sloks to be very helpful if I get upset: PrIdw jy qU Akil lqIPu kwly ilKu n lyK ] Fareed, if you have a keen understanding, then do not write black marks against anyone else. AwpnVy igrIvwn mih isru nˆØIvW kir dyKu ] 6 ] Look underneath your own collar instead. (6) PrIdw jo qY mwrin mukIAW iqn@w n mwry GuMim ] Fareed, do not turn around and strike those who strike you with their fists. AwpnVY Gir jweIAY pYr iqn@w dy cuMim ] 7 ] Kiss their feet, and return to your own home. (7) PrIdw QIau pvwhI dBu ] jy sWeI loVih sBu ] Fareed, become the grass on the path, if you long for the Lord of all. ieku iCjih ibAw lqwVIAih ] One will cut you down, and another will trample you underfoot; qW sweI dY dir vwVIAih ] 16 ] then, you shall enter the Court of the Lord. (16) If you long for revenge, remember we reap what we sow: PrIdw loVY dwK ibjaurIAW ikkir bIjY jtu ] Fareed, the farmer plants acacia trees, and wishes for grapes. hMFY auNn kqwiedw pYDw loVY ptu ] 23 ] He is spinning wool, but he wishes to wear silk. (23)
  24. you don't need to take off the kirpan, you can wear a smaller kirpan in your dastar.
