  1. VJKK VJKF Sorry I am not trying to cause any fights but I have a question. I’m not much of a jathebandi guy because high avastha gursikhs are in every jathebandi, but a question popped into my mind. What maryada of preparing Amrit is the one Sahib Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji used? I understand that Sant Jarnail Singh Ji approved of the SGPC rehit maryada, but here’s my problem. Taksali Maryada states that a Shri Sahib has to be kept of the edge of the batta while stirring the Amrit with a khanda in the right hand, and these two are to be passed with the Shri sahib remaining at the edge and the khanda remaining in the Amrit.. SGPC only mentions a khanda being used, and from what I know, Buddha Dal has all of the panj pyare having their shri sahib drawn and on the edge of the batta while one pyara stirs the Amrit with a khanda in their right hand. I also know that SGPC shortens some bani while the Amrit is being prepared. My question is, because I am taking Amrit in a few months time if I don’t fall from my rehit, what jathebandi should I take amrit from? Should I just take amrit from whatever gurdwara is closest and follow their rehit? I am utterly confused at this. Is one type of amrit sanchar parvaan and the other isn’t? Should I just get over differences and just worry on taking amrit? thanks.
  2. Today I see many people mix Punjabi culture things with sikhi. Like I personally think that Bhangra, giddha and other things like this aren’t related to sikhi and aren’t allowed for Sikh to do. People need to understand that being Punjabi is different than being a Sikh. Do u guys think that Bhangra and giddha r forbidden in sikhi?? I wanna hear sum more people’s vichar in this

  6. I tie a taksali dumala, but i am wondering what is the history behind it. Apparently the singhs in guru jis time used to wear nihang dumala and used used to wear chakars on them. When was the taksali dumala style made? who made it? is there a reason why taksalis wear this dumala?
  7. Vaheguroo ji ka khalsaa vaheguroo ji ki fatehh i recently came back from visiting hazoor sahib for the first time I feel ashamed and violated. i was just outside the takht complex with 20 other “gursikhs” who were all in their bana and wearing shastar they handed me a drink telling me it was rattani which I thought meant rose water however I took one sip and immediately realised this wasn’t rose water but was infact alcohol I questioned the “gursikh” who handed me it and he starting laughing and confirmed it was infact alcohol they were all drinking it and said this is true “Sikhi” and that if I don’t like it I should go somewhere else I felt ashamed of my self and ran back to my accommodation and spent all day there crying. I am really ashamed of myself and I feel I have broken my Amrit and I’m extremely scared to go pesh and admit my mistake. do I need to go pesh because it was not intently or do I need to go ?! Please help

  9. Just in case Harinder Singh and his NKJ read this, some honest questions : 1) You (the Nirvair Khalsa Jatha) were already registered at Companies House as a charity, which is totally right in accordance with the 'seva' you are performing....so why did NKJ register a separate profit making company at Companies House at the end of October 2017 ? 2) You (Harinder Singh) have yourself listed at Companies House as 'unemployed' and so, in your twenties and without a job, how did you manage to buy that £500,000 (£1.5 million in London prices) house Companies House has you as living in without the need for a mortgage.....i.e cash.......i.e. where did the money come from ? 3) A further check of the electoral roll reveals that just a ' Harinder Hayre' and another 20 something male live at that address. With Sikhi advocating a normal married lifestyle for all Sikhs and a hundred thousand daughters of the shaheeds of 1984 living destitute lives without saviour husbands why is the main man of NKJ living with a mystery 20 something year old male ? 4) While NKJ come to Sikh areas to lecture why is it that Companies House shows every member of NKJ living in all-white towns way from traditional areas with the leader living in a remote all-white village ? 5) Why does NKJ lecture everyone about using the name 'Singh' rather than what they call 'caste surnames' and yet Companies House, the Electoral Roll and every official entity has Harinder Singh using the name Harinder Hayre in everything he does away from his sermons to us and the rest of the group also do the same ? and, finally.......... 6) Why does the Director's business interests search through Companies House reveal that the main source of income of 2 of the NKJ group is.....'predominately Tobacco' ?
  10. I have heard that at AKJ Amrit Sanchaars if someone goes for pesh they blacken their face and take them in front of Sangat and make them confess their sin. Is this true? Never of heard of anyone else doing this, so is it an AKJ thing? Or just some bs?

  14. I'm having trouble knowing what this question has to do with the topic of Nihangs in 1984, so I just created a new topic for it. First of all, Bikrami is not much in use anymore, it's just either the Nanakshahi calendar published by the SGPC, or the so-called "original Nanakshahi" calendar favored by Ragi Darshan Singh. Anyways, regarding the 4 major events commemorated by Sikhs, Google reveals: 1) Guru Nanak ji's prakash. Celebrated by AKJ on Kattak Puranmashi, in accordance with Nanakshahi calendar. 2) Guru Gobind Singh ji's prakash. According to the Nanakshahi calendar, falls on Poh Sudi Saptmi. Celebrated on that day by AKJ: 3) Holla Mohalla. If you've ever attended Holla at Anandpur Sahib, you know that everbody (jathas, sants, Sukhmani Sahib Seva Societies, missionaries) celebrates on the day after Holi in accordance with Nanankshahi calendar. 4) Baisakhi. Celebrated by the entire panth on the same day. Additionally, this link states Dushera is celebrated annually in Delhi by the AKJ as a major smagam. Obviously that would be on whatever day the Hindus celebrate Dushera.
