This is from the Bonham's website. It sold for: £ 22,562 inc. premium A RARE HUKAMNAMMA OR FIRMAN (OFFICIAL DOCUMENT), ISSUED BY THE GOLDEN TEMPLE AMRITSAR, CIRCA 1845-48 gurmukhi manuscript on paper, 19 lines of text finely written in black ink, large seal impression at top, laid down on cloth manuscript 475 x 263 mm.; cloth 515 x 280 mm. Footnotes This unusual document was issued by the Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple), and is stamped with the official seal of the Harmandir Sahib, reading Degh-o-tegh-o-Fateh, Nusrat Beh-de-rang Yaft-az Nanak-Guru Gobind Singh. The text states it was issued at the command of Jathedar Ganda Singh, and written by the Ardasiya (prayer leader at the time) Bhai Kirpal Singh, appealing to the Sikh community to send donations to Sri Harmandir Sahib, perhaps during the initial period of British administration after the defeat of the First Anglo-Sikh War, in the reign of Maharajah Duleep Singh. Other persons named in the firman include Assistant Jathedar Dharam Singh, Head Priest Charat Singh, and service master Karam Singh. Jathedar Ganda Singh was later hanged by the British in 1848 after he and other officials of the Golden Temple clashed with British officers when they walked inside the Harmindir Sahib with their shoes on. During the clash a Government official was killed. Under the Governor of the Punjab, Lawrence, the protesting Sikhs, including Jathedar Ganda Singh, were arrested and hanged.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Hi, so I use online Hukamnamas regularly from sites like Sikhi to the Max and SikhNet and today when I did so, Ang 689 came up. https://www.sikhnet.com/hukam/personal/2623 When reading this shabad when Guru describes death coming in 4 days I went into a panic. I have been trying to maintain good rehit and this truly shocked me as my previous shabads from days earlier did not carry the same meaning to me. I pulled 3 more and to my surprise repeated similar messages. Guruji tells me how I have remained in duality and in Maya and I cannot erase my past deeds and it is useless to cry about them. The next three I pulled do not really discuss death but maya and how these things are useless. I am scared I am doing naam jaap and mool mantar as much as I can and I will do ardaas. These shabads always speak to me or at least I can take something from Guruji's command to apply but here I don't know what to do. Any guidance would be much appreciated. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ I found this video and Bhai Sukha Singh ji talks about 2 times he witnessed the power of Hukamname. Could Sangat here also share some Sakhis and what Hukamname have done to your life or inspiring Sakhis that have taken place in others lives. It really builds Sharda in Maharaaj so would appreciated a lot. ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕਾ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਕੀ ਫਤਿਹ

I was just seeking help, power , and ability to do my duties in workplace and clear all hurdles and pass my pending certification. But I was surprised when I got this, can't even properly map it to my circumstance. The first word of first line of left page was " ਹਾਰਿਆ " (lose) . I felt sad TBH. I am 27 and I work in an IT company. I am a software developer in Java. And lately I have ran out of projects to work on . Our boss said an interesting java project will come , in january . He told us to prepare for our certification which we will be giving exam of shortly. However, the fact that he hasn't said anything about incoming project after jan gave me a sinking feeling that I might have to switch jobs because I can't be forever at this one if no new task comes. However I wanted to continue with this company. So I prayed to guru sahib and on random opening of angs got the following gurprasaad : (Some of the lines are obvious, including the first one, however some of them I am unable to relate to my situation ) ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ One Universal Creator God. There is a girl that i believe i truly love. I have tried not to love her, for the sake of not becoming attached, but i cannot stop my love for her. She is a christian girl and she is the perfect one for me. But i have taken a hukamnama and Guru sahib says: Sorat'h, Third Mehla: Serving the True Guru, the divine melody wells up within, and one is blessed with wisdom and salvation. The True Name of the Lord comes to abide in the mind, and through the Name, one merges in the Name. ||1|| Without the True Guru, the whole world is insane. The blind, self-willed manmukhs do not realize the Word of the Shabad; they are deluded by false doubts. ||Pause|| The three-faced Maya had led them astray in doubt, and they are snared by the noose of egotism. Birth and death hang over their heads, and being reborn from the womb, they suffer in pain. ||2|| The three qualities permeate the whole world; acting in ego, it loses its honor. But one who becomes Gurmukh comes to realize the fourth state of celestial bliss; he finds peace through the Name of the Lord. ||3|| The three qualities are all Yours, O Lord; You Yourself created them. Whatever You do, comes to pass. O Nanak, through the Lord's Name, one is emancipated; through the Shabad, he is rid of egotism. ||4||12|| I do not know what to do but please help me friends!!

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sangat Ji daas was at a friends' house and after Rehras Sahib we asked for a hukamnama as usual so we could do sukhasan. Surprisingly, there was no Hukamanama after the Angs were opened to a random Ang. There was no mahalla, pauri, chand, or ghas. What does this mean? Daas had a question too in the mind and I said to myself that the hukamanama will be the answer but there was no hukamanama? It opened to Ang 933 and going back to bani it is Dakhni Oankaar. What does this mean? Am I missing something here or unaware of? Maybe someone can share any thoughts on this? Later on we did mool mantar and took another hukaknama. Ghar*

True is the Name of the True Lord. Glorious are the Praises of the Lord of the Universe. Infinite is the spiritual wisdom imparted by the Guru. The Creator Lord who created, shall also destroy. The call of death is sent out by the Lord’s Command; no one can challenge it. He Himself creates, and watches; His written command is above each and every head. He Himself imparts understanding and awareness. O Nanak, the Lord Master is inaccessible and unfathomable; I live by His True Name. || 1 || No one can compare to You, Lord; all come and go. By Your Command, the account is settled, and doubt is dispelled. The Guru dispels doubt, and makes us speak the Unspoken Speech; the true ones are absorbed into Truth. He Himself creates, and He Himself destroys; I accept the Command of the Commander Lord. True greatness comes from the Guru; You alone are the mind’s companion in the end. O Nanak, there is no other than the Lord and Master; greatness comes from Your Name. || 2 || You are the True Creator Lord, the unknowable Maker. There is only the One Lord and Master, but there are two paths, by which conflict increases. All follow these two paths, by the Hukam of the Lord’s Command; the world is born, only to die. Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mortal has no friend at all; he carries loads of sin on his head. By the Hukam of the Lord’s Command, he comes, but he does not understand this Hukam; the Lord’s Hukam is the Embellisher. O Nanak, through the Shabad, the Word of the Lord and Master, the True Creator Lord is realized. || 3 || Your devotees look beautiful in Your Court, embellished with the Shabad. They chant the Ambrosial Word of His Bani, savoring it with their tongues. Savoring it with their tongues, they thirst for the Naam; they are a sacrifice to the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. Touching the philosopher’s stone, they become the philosopher’s stone, which transforms lead into gold; O Lord, they become pleasing to your mind. They attain the immortal status and eradicate their self-conceit; how rare is that person, who contemplates spiritual wisdom. O Nanak, the devotees look beautiful in the Court of the True Lord; they are dealers in the Truth. || 4 || I am hungry and thirsty for wealth; how will I be able to go to the Lord’s Court? I shall go and ask the True Guru, and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. I meditate on the True Name, chant the True Name, and as Gurmukh, I realize the True Name. Night and day, I chant the Name of the merciful, immaculate Lord, the Master of the poor. The Primal Lord has ordained the tasks to be done; self-conceit is overcome, and the mind is subdued. O Nanak, the Naam is the sweetest essence; through the Naam, thirst and desire are stilled. || 5 || 2 || Thursday, 20 th Poh (Samvat 544 Nanakshahi) 3rd January, 2013 (Page: 688

WJKK WJKF, Sangat ji I had a really quick question. Haven't posted on here in a while due to some personal issue that I was trying and still trying to deal with. Anyways, I was reading the Hukamnama from Harmandar Sahib today and read the translation as well but I'm still not understanding what it is saying. Can anyone translate it to me so I can understand it better? Thanks a lot!

SANT DHADRIANWALE ANNOUNCES SOLUTION: STRICT ACTION MUST BE TAKEN TO STOP BEADBI – SRI AKAL TAKHT SAHIB NEEDS TO ISSUE HUKAMNAMA 21st September 2011 In the most unfortunate circumstances, persistent Beadbi (sacrilege) of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj continues to happen in villages and towns around India by various anti-Sikh miscreants. Be it the recent Beadbi of throwing 5 Saroops of Guru Sahib Ji down a well in Udhampur Nallan with bottles of alcohol and rubbish, or the burning of a Saroop in Uttar Pradesh. In the meanwhile, as a consequence, Panthic discussions across the world carry on in the hope to find solutions and take action to prevent any future incidents of sacrilege. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is the only living and eternal Guru of the Sikhs. While those with love for the Khalsa Panth cannot sleep as Beadbi takes place, regrettably, the reality remains there is very little action the common Sikh with ‘Panthic Dharad’ around the world can take. The Sikh Nations Mahaan Parchaarak Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Ji Dhadrianwale has not only condemned this intolerable Beadbi, but outlined the most rational and only solution the Sikhs have for the long-term, in the current state of affairs, in order to prevent any further incidents of sacrilege from happening to Guru Sahib Ji in India. Furthermore, the solution proposed has been put into action immediately after its announcement. In what should be a joint-effort by every Sikh, Gurdwara Committee and Jathebandhi across the world (and not just in India), Sant Dhadrianwale have announced and initiated a Panthic lobby to influence the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib to issue and implement a Hukamnama that will once and for all clarify the solution to this problem. This plan of action was suggested and launched on Wednesday 14th September 2011 at Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara, Sedgley Street, Wolverhampton during the last Diwaan of Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Ji’s 2011 UK Visit for Gurmat Parchaar, which was attended by thousands of Sikhs across the UK and broadcast live on television that was watched by millions across Europe (and around the world on the internet). It would be a huge and almost impossible task for any individual Panthic Jathebandhi in India to make arrangements for the security of each and every Gurdwara Sahib nationwide, where in many cases there are 4-5 Gurdwara’s in a village and thousands of villages across the states of India. Sant Dhadrianwale have suggested that instead, a Hukamnama issued from Sri Akal Takht Sahib should make clear that in whichever city, town or village, in whichever Gurdwara Sahib a Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is present, then the responsibility for the safety of Guru Sahib Ji should lie with the village ‘Panchayat’ and/or Gurdwara committee. If any Beadbi occurs, then the Panchayat and committee will be responsible and they will be summoned by the Panth to explain why Beadbi has occurred. Guarding of the Gurdwara Sahib and the security of Guru Sahib Ji within each village and city would need to be arranged, even if the village Panchayat and committee arrange it on a payroll basis. At present, almost every village of Punjab has security arranged each night to prevent foul behaviour, theft of buffaloes etc. If there are two exits to the village, both are guarded by a number of local village residents who work on a rota basis. Any cars passing through the village at night are stopped by these guards to ensure there is no unusual activity. Sant Dhadrianwale have said that if villages can be guarded in such a way, then members of each village can also guard the Gurdwara’s as well. Once this Hukamnama is issued, then members of the SGPC would need to visit each and every Gurdwara Sahib, one by one, to make sure it has been put into operation and 10-15 people are guarding the locality of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. Sant Dhadrianwale said it would need to be stated and made clear that if local Sangat, Panchayats or Gurdwara Committees are not able to arrange the security for and uphold the Satkaar of Guru Sahib Ji, then the sacred Saroop should be with Sri Akal Takht Sahib without delay. Where Satkaar cannot be upheld and systems to prevent Beadbi from occurring cannot be put in place, then the King of Kings Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj should not have to reside at such places. Sant Dhadrianwale said that when Bhai Ranjit Singh Ji (as Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib) had issued the Hukamnama that no Saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj should go to Marriage Palaces, that particular Beadbi ceased in India because people fear the supreme edicts of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and will obey them, be it from the inside or as show from the outside. When village Panchayats and Gurdwara Committees know they will be accountable to Sri Akal Takht Sahib if Beadbi occurs, then fortification around the locality of Guru Sahib Ji will certainly take place. The SGPC workers would quickly be able to visit Gurdwara’s in their areas to ensure this is in place at every location where Guru Sahib Ji is present. Sant Dhadrianwale said we can keep discussing and wasting time while further Beadbi could occur at any time, but action needs to be taken and this would be the most fast, immediate and only solution to this problem. In the current times, there would be no other practical solution. Sant Dhadrianwale have said these cases of Beadbi have turned into a play and joke for the anti-Sikh miscreants who orchestrate them. The Satkaar of Guru Sahib Ji is every Sikhs responsibility. Sant Dhadrianwale, at their last UK Gurmat Diwaan when suggesting this plan of action, made a humble request to all Sikhs, Gurdwara Committees and Panthic Organisations (who have done and continue to do a massive amount of selfless service for the Khalsa Panth) throughout the UK and Europe to send letters to the Sri Akal Takht Sahib Ji Jathedar and put pressure on him to issue and implement such a Hukamnama. Sant Dhadrianwale said upon their return to Punjab, starting at the Sangrand Diwaan at Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar Sahib, they would be announcing this plan of action on every stage during their continuous Gurmat and Amrit Parchaar Diwaans across India in order to ensure this Hukamnama is issued as soon as possible over the coming few months. After this announcement by Sant Dhadrianwale on 14th September 2011 in the UK, it has now officially been put into action in India and launched during the 17th September 2011 Sangarand Samagam from Gurdwara Parmeshar Dwar Sahib at which around 70,000 people were in attendance. An appeal has been made to every Panthic organisation in India and around the world to write to the Akal Takht Jathedar in their own capacity and support the release of such a Hukamnama. During the Sangrand Samagam, Sant Dhadrianwale have made it clear that the Sikh nation will never sit down and tolerate such Beadbi. They said strict action must be taken to stop Beadbi of Guru Sahib Ji from happening in the future. It must be noted that Sant Dhadrianwale has no link with the Sant Samaj in its alliance with the Akali Dal and neither have Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Ji got involved in any discussions with any of the political parties of Punjab to benefit from any such alliance in the SGPC elections. Sant Baba Ranjit Singh Ji Dhadrianwale continue independently in their primary mission of Gurmat Parchaar and Amrit Sanchaar to the Sikh masses.
