GURDWARA EXPOSED!

“Guru Arjan Dev Ji Shaheedi” Sports & Cultural Tournament organised by:

Sri Guru Singh Sabha London East

For several years Sangat has been trying to stop this tournament where the following happens:

1) Excessive Alcohol & Drug Abuse

2) Rowdy and Violent Behaviour

3) Langar from Gurdwara is distributed alongside meat and alcohol

4) Misuse of Gurdwara Funds

Is this what Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji & Sikh Shaheeds lived and died for?

This Gurdwara committee are the Massands of today. They refuse to address the concerns of the Sangat. They are misusing the offerings from Sangat. They partake in the alcohol & drug abuse on the day of the tournament. They profit from the tournament.

This is the future of our community at stake. Do we want people who abuse their roles as community leaders?

This abuse of power has to stop and as Sadh Sangat this is your chance to make a difference in your local area. The committee is responsible to YOU all of the local Sadh Sangat. The tournament highlights the extent to which this committee is not capable of promoting Sikhism within the local area.

Things will not change unless we try to do something about it. If you have love for Guruji and call yourself a Sikh then it’s your problem.

everyone should ring and tell the committee what they think.

some ideas:

explain to them that meat and alcohol are prohibited for all sikhs.

ask them would they let someone under the influence of alcohol enter their Gurdwara?? if they wouldn't then how can they provide langar for people who are drunk.

why does the Gurdwara need to be involved in organising this event?

how much sangat money is ploughed into the event?

who's money is used for langar?

my uncle is part of the committee and he tried to justify their actions to me.

his wife and son both disagreed with him and were agreeing with me, but my dad wouldn't let me carry on talking to him about it.

they think they are always right.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!!

The current situation of the tournament is that it is out of control and is not fit to be associated with Guruji, Sikh Shaheeds or a Gurughar.

There has been many letters issued by the Gurdwara Committee in the local Redbridge Recorder where they attempt to justify the tournament as a “family event”.

However when questioned by the Sangat all committee members accept the alcohol abuse & violent behaviour that takes place on the day.

It’s a day that does more damage than good.its a fact. The tournament has been moving for the pass few years because playing grounds refuse to have them again. Goodmayes Park Extension is the current site where the local residents are in uproar.

People are so drunk that fights break out, rowdiness, vandalism, along with vomit & urine staining the roads around the park.

This is what Guruji’s name is being associated with. The committee need a reality check. The tournament is out of control. It’s not a matter of pride for local Sikhs to hear what people get up to on the day.

Gurdwara committees must be responsible. The committee accepted that the tournament was not fit for the memory of Guruji & Sikh Shaheeds. Their pride & ego is above beadbi because they have been organising this piss up for many years now…what will people think…the committee has gone weak….we can have that…but we can have the beadbi of Guruji, Shaheeds, Gurughars & Sadh Sangat.

Does not help when we have twats in charge of all our sacred institutions that should be initiating action and summoning these committe members or excomunicating them. "Jathedar" Vedanti is nothing more than Badals pyjama. He really needs to start taking action if not he should resign and tour the world on a donkey as he has done nothing to stop any beadbi.

Anybody know when he is going to be in the UK next ? The youth need to arrange a meeting and tell him exactly what is going on and how him and those in the Akal Takht secetariat have been sitting on their behinds doing nothing to help. All it will take to sort all this stuff out is a few summons to the Akal Takht and excommunication for non offenders. To me this missuse of our beloved Guru Ji's name for such an event is more outragous than the Sunny Deol film but for some reason our "Jathedar" fail to make enough noise about such events.

this happens in cali too........we have Vaisakhi melas where little children dance at horrible songs and are awarded for that.......so much <admin-profanity filter activated> out there.............why do they run after money and not after sikhi?

i agree....."Jathedar" Vedanti is an incapable Jathedar for our panth and does not deserve the position
