In Sikhism there is no barrier to marrying anyone from different ethnicity / nationality so it is acceptable. Just culturally some may people in the different communities, who might have reservations or objections.

Aslong as the non-sikh embraces Sikhism and Sri Guru Granth Sahib as their eternal Guru..... I dont see a problem.

About the other ethnicity... im pretty sad to hear such comments. It sounds like people dont agree with sikh going with white or black or yellow, orange purple, green... whatever. Sounds like there is still some edgy feelings towards the POSSIBILITY of other ethnic groups actually wanting to be sikh... learn about sikhism, become sikh. Personally, i dont see the problem. I'm what you guys would call a Gori. Forget the fact that im sikh. I'll still remain gori in alot of eyes, not sikh. thats sad. dont insult people from other ethnicities (you dont want someone telling you, you cant marry someone you love because of their colour) come on... especially who are interested in sikhism...

if you want sikhism to spread... open your mind to other ethnicities, and see the character of the person, not the colour. Spread the truth to your brothers and sisters of different backgrounds. Give them a chance... atleast.

Sikhism is universal religion.... but I understand your argument as theirs evidence that the values of the off spring are diluted who still call themselves Sikhs but dont really play active part in community.

You'll be suprised the places where Sikhism is being embraced. I have articles and pictures of Mexican, brazialian Sikhs...It's only a matter of time before it breaks away from Punjabi domination and from Punjabi cultural barriers.

In Sikhi there is no barrier that says you can't marry other colours. But I feel that we should sort out our own community first. Many people say that they are Sikhs but when it comes to marriage, these supposed Sikhs revert back to the caste system and refuse marriages.

i don think race matters much aslong as they are both Sikh. how can a nonsikh take part in anadkaraj. if they dont even know wots its about or who Guru Jee actually is.
