Bad Sectors

i want to ask how to find if my hard disk has got bad sectors or not...is there any way out to find em and remove them....

i use a program called "Active smart" it monitors ur disk on hourly basis and alerts you if the disk condition starts to go bad. It also checks the temperature etc.

in older versions of windows they used to have Scandisk which would get the job done with ease. But, i dont think they have included it with XP.

Also, u can't really "remove" the bad ones, the program will just mark them as "bad" so no data is written on them
